Caroline bit her lip, trying to suppress the laughter bubbling up inside her.
Hayden's embarrassed expression, combined with his utterly ridiculous expression, was just too much. She covered her mouth with her hand, shoulders shaking as she glanced at him, eyes sparkling with amusement.
"Why are you blushing so much? You should tell what had transpired back at your house," Caroline said.
Hayden nodded with some difficulty. He adverted his gaze, looking at the ground as if it was the most beautiful thing in the world. After a minute, he said, "My mother... she... was doing something in... my father's room. I thought that it was nothing but even after... half-an-hour she didn't come out.
