Chapter 248: Likely Crazy
Knowing that Adam's not some reckless teenager but a rich second-generation heir who is not an arrogant piece of shit is a big win in Isla's head.
His being humble enough to work in a restaurant without making a huge fuss about it, even with his rich status, just shows that Adam's not like other rich young men she has had the misfortune to meet.
Not only is Adam extremely good looking, but his character also seems to be very bright, plus he is also good a MMA, meaning he can protect her from danger if her life is ever compromised.
The more Isla learns about Adam, the more ethereal he feels, because how many boxes can one guy check? From the outside, Adam looks almost perfect.
She wonders if she had done something very good in her past that karma has blessed her with the chance to be with someone like Adam.
As she sits in the passenger seat looking at Adam's side profile, she can't help but admire how dreamy he looks.
Like a prince out of a fairy tale. The more she looks, the more she falls for her.
Her heart races, her face turns red, and her body starts acting up in ways she never expected it would.
Never did she ever think that the mere presence of a man would make her feel so vulnerable yet so happy at the same time.
She even begins to relate to some of her male fans who comment on some of the most obsessive things about her.
Every time she read those comments, she wondered what was wrong with their heads for them to become so obsessed with her, even though they had never talked or met, but those men were willing enough to give their lives away just for her.
Now that she sits next to Adam, falling head over heels for him by just looking at him, she somehow begins to understand those obsessive fans of hers.
To have a personality and aura so vast and so bright that if completely drowns you into and makes you want to be a part of it.
That's what Isla feels when she looks at Adam, and she believes that's what some of her fans feel when they look at her.
Noticing Isla's intense gaze, Adam turns to look at her and meets her gaze. He notices the way she is looking at him.
Those are the eyes of a woman who has completely given herself to him, which surprises him as he hasn't even fucked Isla, let alone kissed her.
He wonders why Isla is so attracted to him. Sure, he is handsome, and he has a personality that some girls find very attractive, but that's no reason for Isla to feel this connected to him.
After all, this is their second time being so close to each other.
Well, Adam's not one to complain. Isla is beautiful, and she is famous enough that she can be of some help to him in the future.
There is no way Adam's not going to use the opportunity he has at hand.
Adam promised himself that he would have absolute control over his life, and if that means being as selfish as he possibly can, then he will.
It doesn't mean he will use and abuse his girls, but if a matter arises when he has to choose between himself and his girls, he will choose himself.
He is not going to let anyone hold any control over him.
"Like what you see?" Adam asks in a flirty tone, causing Isla to snap out of her daydream and blush as she just got caught red-handed.
"Can't help myself, you are so handsome...." she says.
"Then you are in for a long night because I don't plan to leave you any time soon," Adam says, making Isla's heart race.
With all this time they will spend together all alone, Isla wonders what Adam will do to her.
She can see that Adam's not a guy who shies away from doing what he wants.
He is very forward and confident in his decisions, and this makes Isla intensely nervous. Of all the things Adam could do to her tonight, she asks herself how far she will let Adam go.
And the scariest part is that she realizes that even she has no idea about it.
Even Isla herself realizes how dangerous her current mindset is, but she can't help it; she just wants to be with Adam and make sure that he accepts her, and she will do anything for it to become a reality.
Seeing the look in her eyes, even Adam wonders if Isla is right in the head.
He doesn't know what she is thinking, but he can sense the obsessiveness in her eyes. And this makes Adam feel a rush of excitement as well.
He, after all, has always been into crazy women, like his step-mother, Julia. The desire of wanting to tame such a woman and make her completely subservient to him gives him a great sense of control.
For a man who is obsessed with control, what's better than having complete control over a crazy, unpredictable woman?
Adam's not the only one with such desires, but he is one of the only few men who actually have the ability to achieve it, as he is gifted both physically and mentally to handle such women.
And from the looks of it, Adam realizes that Isla might be one such crazy woman. Right now, she looks like any other beautiful girl, but Adam can see it in her eyes; she has this craziness in them that is waiting to be bent and broken.
"Where are you taking me?" Isla asks as she realizes she doesn't know anything about this date or where Adam is taking her.
"Now you ask?" Adam says, chuckling.
"It's not my fault that you didn't bring it up before," Isla snaps back teasingly.
Instead of answering, Adam just smiles and stares back at her.
"What?" She questions, wondering why Adam suddenly stopped talking and is just staring at her.
"You don't appear nervous anymore as you talk to me," Adam says.
Isla's eyes widen a little as she realizes that Adam's right. Every time they have been together before, Isla also felt very nervous around Adam because she feared rejection, but now their conversation flows smoothly.
As she thinks over what caused this change, she realizes that the catalyst is Lana.
If not for Lana being overly touchy and flirty with Adam, Isla would have continued being inside her shell and feeling nervous around Adam.
Because of Lana, her competitive side came out, and she started fighting for Adam's attention with Lana, and now she feels okay speaking to Adam normally.
'Looks like I have to thank my love rival...' Isla thinks.
"I just feel more comfortable now that I know you a little better," Isla says. Adam just nods his head, but he also has a guess as to why Isla suddenly became so comfortable with him, and it clearly has to do with Lana.
He is not blind. He noticed how Isla instantly switched up when she saw that Lana was trying to get his attention.
"You still didn't answer my question: where are you taking me?" Isla asks, getting back to the topic.
"The amusement park. I heard that the night view of the city from the top of the Ferris wheel is a sight to behold," Adam says.
Isla's eyes shine at hearing Adam's words. She, too, wanted to visit the city's amusement park, as it is hailed as one of the best amusement parks in the country.
Of course, she never had the time to go as she was busy with other things. But now, she is glad that she didn't go with her friends/band members as she gets to experience it with Adam.
"I can't wait!" She says excitedly.
"You don't have to go for much long either, we will get there in no time," Adam says and steps on the gas pedal, throwing Isla back into the seat from the instant acceleration.
At first, she is caught off guard, but then the thrill of going so fast washes over her.
Wide-eyed, she watches Adam fly through traffic with ease as if he has thousands and thousands of hours of experience behind the wheel.
Watching cars just get left behind in a blur fills Isla with anxious excitement. She has never experienced anything like this before, but this feeling it's exhilarating.
She turns to look at Adam, who has a grin on his face, equally excited as he pushes his machine to its limit.
This sense of thrill, Isla doesn't want to let go.
'Being with him really makes my life exciting,' Isla thinks.
Isla feels her heart beat faster than ever, hitting her chest as if it wants to rip out of her. Watching the lights just flash past her at breakneck speed gives her an illusion of her falling into an endless hole.
And at this moment, Isla wants Adam to do just one thing: go faster.
Luckily for her, Adam fulfills her request. He enters the last gear, and the car rips through the highway while its engine roars like a fierce beast.
Isla holds onto her grab handles tightly as she feels another wave of excitement rush into her.
Suddenly, she notices red and blue lights flash behind her.
"Oh, my God! Police! What do we do?" She asks, looking at Adam, panicked as she has never been in such a situation before.
Adam looks at her and grins.
"Just hold on tight!" He says, shifting the gear and weaving through the traffic like a snake through tunnels.
Within minutes, the police car is left behind in the dust, as no one can match Adam in driving, especially when he is driving a sports car.
