Chapter 189: Lover's Fight
Adam watched from a distance as Lana and her friend group seemed to implode among themselves.
He doesn't know what happened, but it was quite a sight. Seeing Drake storm off in anger and Lana give chase to him, Adam knew he needed to follow her to keep an eye on her.
He really didn't care why the friend group exploded, and neither did he have any interest in finding out why.
"Let's go, I need to keep an eye on her," Adam says to Crill.
"You go ahead, I will stay here. I need to win this," Crill says. Adam looks at him and sees Crill with an airsoft gun in his hand, trying to pop the balloons in the stand.
Adam sighs, shaking his head. Crill seems far too invested in the game right now to care about joining him to follow Lana around.
He looks around and sees everyone minding their own business. Although this might be a local concert, the local vendors in the area clearly took the opportunity to turn it into a carnival.
There is food and games everywhere. If Adam had not promised Clara to keep an eye on Lana, then maybe he would have brought one of his own girls here to hand out and have fun. Leila wouldn't be someone who would enjoy such a thing, but Xu Lin would definitely be elated if he had brought her here.
Adam gives Crill one last look before he leaves his side and follows Lana from a distance.
On the way, he walks past her friend group, who seem to still be talking about the cause of the implosion. He did manage to eavesdrop a little into their conversation and found out that the girls are not a big fan of Lana's boyfriend.
But he didn't bother sticking out to find out why.
While Lana chased after Drake, Adam maintained a good distance from them. Making sure to keep an eye on her, but not get close enough to be a bother.
Plus, he really didn't want to get into the mess. From the looks of it, Lana and Drake are not having a good time alone either.
They are arguing about something.
Adam, instead, pays for two kabab sticks from the kabab stand next to him and eats them as he takes in the festival-like mood that's all around him. The faint background music adds to the atmosphere, making everything look lively.
'I should have really brought a girl along,' He thinks as he stands alone in a crowd filled with people.

Lana, who gave chase to Drake, finally caught up to him.
"Drake, wait," Lana says, grabbing his arm. Drake stops and turns to look at her.
"What?" He shouts angrily. Lana frowns, seeing Drake direct his anger at her.
"Don't take their words to heart. They were just teasing you. They didn't mean any of it," Lana says.
"Really? Do you think I am an idiot? Come on, we both know that your bitchy friends don't like me, they never have, and they never will," Drake says.
"That's not true... They just need a chance to get to know you. I am sure they will approve you once they see the real you," Lana says.
"I need their approval to date you? What kind of bullshit is that?" Drake asks, annoyed.
"Look, they are my friends, and whether you like it or not, they will be a part of my life, and that means that they need to like you. So, if I am dating someone, I at least expect him to make an effort to get close to my friends," Lana says as she starts getting annoyed as well.
"I don't want to be friends with your friends. Miley and Kally are the biggest bitches I have ever met. Garry is a fucking nerd and a loser. I never want to get caught hanging out with that loser on campus, and that Rein guy he is a freak. He never says a word. Just stares at people with that creepy gaze of his," Drake says, throwing a tantrum.
Lana is stunned hearing Drake badmouth her friends, then anger washes over her.
"Take that back!" Lana says.
"Why would I take it back when everything I said is true. Lana, your friends are losers. The only reason I even tolerate them is because I am dating you. And now, because of me, those losers don't get bullied anymore. If anything, they should be thankful to me for changing their lives for the better," Drake says.
"I can't believe you just said that," Lana says. She is very pissed at Drake right now.
She came to Drake to console him and make him feel less bad about getting made fun of by her friends, but now, hearing his harsh words directed at them, Lana starts feeling that maybe her friends are right about Drake.
"We are not having this conversation right now. You can talk to me when you cool off," Lana says and gets ready to leave, but Drake grabs her hand and stops her.
"What? You are leaving now? Are you embarrassed by being seen next to me as well? Are you going to go hang out with that fucking asshole you brought with you?" Drake asks furiously.
"What? No! What the fuck is wrong with you? How is this related to Adam?" Lana asks as she gets more and more frustrated with Drake's tantrum.
"Isn't all this because of him? If you had not brought him here, all of this would have never happened," Drake says.
"No! All of this wouldn't have happened if you hadn't decided to be a hero," Lana says.
"Why wouldn't I? He was holding you, hurting you. I needed to step in. I am your boyfriend," Drake says.
"He was just holding me. He didn't hurt me one bit. It was you who escalated the situation. I told you we can wait for a minute or two, but you had to stroke that massive ego of yours and show everyone how big a man you are. Only to end up getting manhandled around by someone better. Stop blaming this on others. You tried punching Adam, for the damn sake. You are lucky he just threw you around and didn't beat the shit out of you," Lana says.
"Oh, so now you think he is better than me? Are those bitchy friends of yours, right? You find him more attractive than me, don't you? That's why you are taking his side right now. I knew you were a fucking bitch! I should have just fucked you, used you, and thrown you away," Drake says.
Lana's eyes widen with shock at hearing Drake's words.
"That's it! No one talks to me like that. We are done!" Lana says and tries to leave once again, but Drake grabs her hand and yanks her in.
"No, you are not. We will be done when I say we will be done," Drake says with some growl in his voice.
Lana tries to escape Drake's grip, but she only ends up hurting herself in the process. This is nothing like when Adam had a hold of her.
Though Adam's hold was far stronger, never for a second did she feel hurt by it, but the way Drake is holding her wrist right now, she feels it right on her wrist bone, and her trying to free herself only worsens the pain.
"Let go of me, Drake! You are hurting me!" Lana says, frustrated as she tries to free herself, but Drake's grip is tight.
"No! I still haven't gotten the chance to fuck you yet. You can leave once I am done with you. I have had enough of you making excuses. No more excuses," Drake says.
Lana's eyes widen. For the first time, she feels a little afraid.
Luckily for her, before she could even shout. A hand wraps around Drake's wrist, grabbing both hers and Drake's attention.
"I think that's enough, let her go," Adam says, looking straight into Drake's eyes with his cold gaze.
For a second, Drake is overcome with fear. His instinct screams at him to run, but his anger overwhelms him, and he chooses to fight.
"It's you again! Mother fucker! What? You want to be the hero now? Leave us alone! This is between me and Lana!" Drake says.
But Adam's not one to listen to other people. Instead, he just increases the pressure around Drake's wrist.
Drake suddenly feels as if his hand has been trapped in a vice as Adam's crushing grip tightens around him.
"AARRRGGG!" He yells and immediately lets go of Lana's hand.
Lana immediately pulls away her hand and rubs her wrist as she watches Adam bring Drake to his knee by just holding his wrist.
"FUCKK! LET GO OF MY HAND!" Drake shouts as he feels as if his bones are going to shatter any moment now.
"What's going on here?" Suddenly, a security guard rushes towards them and sees Adam assaulting someone. He immediately reaches for his taser and shouts at Adam.
"Stop that, right now!" He yells at Adam.
Adam looks at the security guard and lets go of Drake's wrist, who immediately backs away from Adam.
"He was harassing my friend," Adam says, looking at the guard before pointing at Lana. The security guard finally understands what's going on and looks at Lana for confirmation.
Lana, now under the guard's questioning gaze, just nods her head.
That's all he needed. The guard approaches Drake, forces him into cuffs.
"Let go of me, you fucking asshole. You don't know who you are fucking messing with! I am going to fucking ruin your life!" Drake shouts at the security guard as he is dragged away.
