Chapter 4: TGIF
It's Friday — Kitty's first real weekend at KISS — and she's ready for answers. She still can't stop thinking about Dae and Yuri's fake-looking relationship. Everything about them seems off, and her instincts tell her something strange is going on.
At breakfast, Q and Kitty sit together, and she immediately starts talking about Dae again. Q gently reminds her, "Maybe you should try to have fun. It's Friday, Kitty." But Kitty shakes her head — she's not the kind of girl who just sits back when something feels wrong.
She starts watching Dae and Yuri carefully, noticing how awkward they are together. Dae barely talks, and Yuri seems to be the one controlling every moment. Kitty begins connecting the dots — Yuri doesn't actually look in love with Dae; she looks like someone trying to prove something.
Later that day, the students gather in the main hall for announcements about the big TGIF party, which is one of KISS's biggest traditions. It's a night for everyone to relax and celebrate after a long week. Min Ho, as usual, brags about his expensive clothes and fancy plans, while Kitty rolls her eyes.
Kitty decides this party is her chance. If she can talk to Dae alone — away from Yuri — maybe she can finally get the truth out of him.
When the evening comes, Kitty gets dressed for the party. Q helps her pick something stylish but simple. "You've got this," he tells her. "Just be confident."
At the TGIF party, music fills the air, lights flash, and students dance everywhere. Kitty feels nervous but excited. She spots Dae across the room, standing awkwardly near the food table. When she finally walks up to him, he looks surprised again — and nervous.
"Why didn't you tell me you had a girlfriend?" Kitty asks softly but seriously.
Dae sighs. "Kitty, I wanted to explain, but…"
Before he can finish, Yuri appears again. She wraps her arm around Dae and smiles at Kitty with that same calm, fake-friendly face. "Oh, Kitty! You must be the girl from Portland, right? Welcome to KISS," Yuri says sweetly.
Kitty forces a smile, but inside she's boiling with frustration.
A few minutes later, Yuri walks away to take a phone call, and Dae quickly whispers to Kitty, "It's not real. Please, trust me. I'll explain soon."
That short sentence changes everything. Kitty's heart starts racing again — Dae isn't lying; something is really going on behind the scenes.
But before she can ask more, Yuri returns, and Dae walks away with her again. Kitty is left standing in the middle of the party, both confused and relieved. At least now she knows she wasn't crazy — Dae still cares, and there's a secret behind his strange behavior.
The next morning, Kitty tells Q everything. Q, ever the voice of reason, says, "Then you need to find out what's really happening. But be careful, Kitty — people like Yuri don't like being exposed."
Kitty smiles mischievously. "Don't worry. I can handle her."
As she looks out the window, watching the sunrise over Seoul, she knows one thing for sure: this love story just got a lot more complicated — and she's right in the middle of it.
