Chapter 48 - Again

Jay-Jay's POV

Mondays. The worst kind of betrayal.

My alarm shrieked like it was trying to summon the dead.

I groaned, slapped it silent, and buried myself deeper under the covers, hoping the universe would forget I existed.

For a brief, blissful moment, I was back in dreamland—until reality hit me like a tidal wave. Literally.

A splash of ice-cold water smacked me square in the face.

I gasped, sputtering, eyes flying open.

Standing over me was Kuya Jare,

holding an empty cup and grinning like he'd just won the prank Olympics.

"Rain, rain," he said, as if that explained anything.

I blinked at him, soaked and stunned.

"You're lucky I'm too cold to fight right now," I muttered, wiping my face with the corner of my blanket.

He just laughed and walked off, leaving me to deal with the aftermath of his aquatic assault.

Grumbling under my breath, I peeled myself out of bed, still dripping.

Kuya Jare had vanished, no doubt proud of his aquatic ambush.

I threw on my uniform—socks mismatched, shirt barely buttoned—and stumbled into the kitchen.

There he was, sipping coffee like he hadn't just ruined my morning. "Morning, sunshine," he said, smirking.

I squinted at him. "If I had superpowers, you'd be a puddle."

"Where is Kuya Percy" I asked

" he's in New York because there was an urgent meeting in the company" he explained

I nodded and glared at him reminding I didn't forget what happened this morning

He chuckled and slid a plate toward me.

Pancakes. Okay, maybe he was trying to bribe me. I took a bite.

Not bad. Still not forgiven.

By the time I got to school, my hair was still damp and my mood hovered somewhere between "meh" and "don't even try."

I was heading toward the Section E building, ready to disappear into the crowd, when someone grabbed my wrist and pulled me into the music room.

"What now, Keifer?" I snapped, still irritated from my morning wake-up call.

He didn't answer right away. Just looked at me with that familiar glint in his eye—the one that always meant trouble.

"I want a kiss from my wife," he said, voice soft but teasing.

I blushed. Seriously? He was back on that "wife" thing again.

"No," I said, crossing my arms.

"You already got enough kisses on the island."

"Just one, Jay. Please?" he pleaded, flashing those puppy-dog eyes.

He knew exactly how to get to me.

I sighed. "Fine. Just one."

He didn't wait.

His lips met mine—gentle at first, then deeper, more urgent.

His hands found my waist, mine wrapped around his neck, pulling him closer.

The world outside faded.

It was just us, tangled in the moment, hearts racing

Before I knew it, I was perched on the piano, legs wrapped around his waist, completely lost in the rhythm of us.

When we finally pulled apart, breathless and grinning like fools, he whispered, "So… did I make your morning better, or should we keep going?"

"Tempting," I said, brushing my thumb across his cheek.

"But we should get to class."

He pouted, lips pushed out like a sad cartoon character.

I leaned in and gave him one last peck. "Consider that your bonus."

He smiled, and for a second, I forgot all about cold water, mismatched socks, and Monday's betrayal.

Maybe the day wasn't so bad after all.
