Northern Li Empire — Snowmoon City.
A man stood within the hall, his robes solemn and dignified. His expression was calm, though tinged with disbelief. This was Sikong Changfeng.
"My Wu Yue Spear ranks only within the top fifty of the Divine Weapon List? Truly unbelievable!"
He paused, his gaze steady but proud."Still, with the reward bestowed by the Golden List, even if I am gravely wounded in the future, I'll possess a powerful safeguard."
At his side, Baili Dongjun tilted his gourd and took a lazy sip of wine. His eyes gleamed with quiet amusement."Indeed. The secret art Return of All Things—being able to recover to your prime state within an hour—could turn the tide in any critical battle."
Li Hanyi, her face as cold and unreadable as a snow-covered mountain, spoke in her usual emotionless tone."In all of Northern Li, the number of people capable of wounding you can be counted on one hand.I doubt you'll ever need that technique."
Her gaze sharpened slightly."But still, having such a hidden trump card—perhaps even Lone Sword Immortal Luo Qingyang, first among the Five Sword Immortals, would no longer intimidate you."
Sikong Changfeng smiled faintly."Luo Qingyang's strength is indeed formidable, but he's still half a step from the realm of the Landed Immortal. With this art in my possession, I could fight him head-on."
He glanced out the window, eyes calm yet proud."This will undoubtedly elevate Snowmoon City's reputation across the martial world once again."
At his words, Li Hanyi remained composed, her tone glacial."And what of the disciple of Master Wuyou? The son of Ye Dingzhi? How do you intend to deal with him?"
"I've heard he's only a single step from the Heaven–Man Realm. For one so young to reach such heights—his future potential is immeasurable."
Baili Dongjun chuckled softly, speaking with a hint of hidden meaning."Your younger brother, Lei Wujie, may not match his talent, but he was born with a rare and perceptive heart. With your guidance, perhaps he could one day stand as his equal."
He paused, then smirked."And besides—should that little monk Wuxin ever dare to lead the Demonic Sect east again, what have we to fear?"
"Twenty years ago, when the Demonic Sect invaded, we did not falter.""And now, we still will not."
Even Sikong Changfeng, usually measured in tone, could not suppress the confidence in his voice."With Wuxin's level of power, Snowmoon City has no less than seven or eight who could rival him. Add Tangmen and the Lei Clan Fortress into the mix—what's there to fear?"
"In the end, the twenty-year Locking Rivers Pact has expired. He was bound to return eventually."
Li Hanyi's crimson lips curved slightly, her voice faint yet edged with meaning."Just don't let the tiger return to the mountains."
"But if the Demonic Sect truly dares to invade again," she said coldly, "it will be the perfect chance for me to test the swordsmanship he once taught me."
Sikong Changfeng let out a quiet sigh, shaking his head."To have won over you, Senior Sister… the one who holds your heart must indeed be a dragon among men."
"If the heroes of the martial world knew that the cold, ruthless, and decisive Snowmoon Sword Immortal harbored such tenderness, I doubt any would believe it."
Baili Dongjun laughed softly."I hear the Taoist Sword Immortal of Wangcheng Mountain has long admired you. It seems he'll die with regret."
Li Hanyi's eyes flickered with a glacial gleam of swordlight as her voice turned to ice."Do you two wish to spar with me right now?"
Sikong Changfeng immediately raised his hands in surrender, his tone half-jesting, half-fearful."Let's not. Others may not understand, but we do."
"Your current strength is unfathomable. No one knows what kind of martial arts your beloved imparted to you, but your cultivation now… it's as deep as the ocean."
He paused meaningfully, glancing at Baili Dongjun."Perhaps you could already stand shoulder to shoulder with our eldest brother."
Seeing the flicker of solemnity cross Baili Dongjun's face, Sikong Changfeng's heart trembled slightly.
Li Hanyi cast the two of them a cool glance. From her body radiated a cutting chill—her sword aura so sharp that the drizzling rain around them froze midair.
Then, with a single motion, she drew her sword. An icy current roared upward into the sky, freezing layer upon layer of falling rain. It formed a glimmering trail of frost that pierced straight toward the heavens.
In that instant, Snowmoon City erupted in cries of awe.Every martial artist in the city looked up, faces filled with shock.
"That freezing sword aura—it must be the Snowmoon Sword Immortal's strike!""So this is the might of a Sword Immortal's blade? It truly transcends the ages!""To think we'd witness such grandeur just by passing through Snowmoon City—what fortune!"
"They say the City Lord, Baili Dongjun, is the strongest of them all. But after seeing this sword… I think the Sword Immortal surpasses even him!"
"Yes! Such a terrifyingly powerful sword—if unleashed upon an army, it could annihilate thousands in an instant!"
"No wonder they say the strength of a Sword Immortal is enough to shake the hearts of ten thousand troops.""To reach the Sword Immortal realm—one must already be at the pinnacle of the Heaven–Man realm. Ordinary Heaven–Man experts could never wield such might.""To command the forces of nature itself… truly a profound realm."
"Indeed. Among them, the Sword Immortals are without question the most supreme."
Countless martial wanderers looked on, eyes alight with admiration and yearning. The single sword strike that split heaven and earth had ignited Snowmoon City—its brilliance shook the entire realm.
The heroes roared. The world trembled.
Spies from all directions scribbled furiously, preparing to report every detail to their respective factions.
With one sword, the balance of the world seemed to shift.
How terrifying it was—this single moment of swordlight piercing the heavens!
