Chapter 32 - CH 29

As I was showering, my shower thoughts came to me.

'If I'm in the dungeon, who will get the evilus who are hiding on the surface?'

The thought came to me, which made me uncomfortable.

[Update completed]

'Update? Oh, right.' I forgot about the update, thinking it would take a week to complete.

'Tell me what this update does.' I thought to the system as he started to explain.

[1: Silksong added]

[2: Gaining bosses' memories and experience]

[3: summoning structures]

[4: Double Rewards]

[5: Lending abilities]

"..."

'If this is a dream, then don't wake me.' I thought as I focused on Silksong.

'Double rewards? That's what I need.' I thought as I brought silk and started turning it into a weapon.

[Hidden quest completed: Create a silk weapon]

[Rewards]

Architects

Second Sentinel

'I knew it.'

The system is kinda lazy, which is why I thought something like this would work.

I got both of their memories and their techniques.

The Architects are not just one bug, but an entire lineage—a caste of highly specialized constructs created by the ancient Weavers of Pharloom. Their story is one of programmed brilliance, servitude, and, ultimately, fading memory.

The Architects were brought into being for one purpose: to design, build, and perpetually maintain the colossal structure known as the Citadel. They were the masters of all its intricate machinery and automation, including the five Sentinels.

The Citadel, it turns out, was not merely a shining city; it was a clever, massive cage for the sleeping deity known as the Grand Mother Silk. The Weavers, wishing to escape her control and flee Pharloom, lured surface bugs into the Citadel and assigned them roles to maintain their prison:

Conductors: To rule and guide, and ensure the eternal Song that kept the Grand Mother asleep continued.

Vaultkeepers: To preserve the kingdom's history and its great, terrible secrets.

Architects: To design, build, and keep the mechanical Cage—the Cogwork Core, the engines, the moving platforms—all running "for Pharloom eternal."

As the centuries passed and the Weavers vanished, their knowledge faded. The Architects, being constructs, could not simply reproduce or learn at the same pace as living bugs.

The one you meet on Hornet's journey is the Twelfth Architect, found in the industrial Underworks. She is a merchant and a maker, still dedicated to her programmed directive: "To serve, for Pharloom eternal."

She sells Hornet essential tools and upgrades, such as the Silkshot and the Architect's Key, proving her lineage's mastery over clockwork creation.

She is ancient, and her shell is beginning to fail. She speaks with a sad, stuttering clarity, lamenting the lost knowledge of her predecessors. The original Architect who built the magnificent Sentinel's Cogheart, for instance, possessed a talent she knows she can never match.

The Twelfth Architect is the last of her line. Lore suggests that after she provides all her services to Hornet, her mechanism finally runs its course. She dies, leaving behind a Pristine Core, a silent testament to her eternal, unchosen duty.

The Architects left an indelible mark on Pharloom. Their machinery is everywhere, hostile or benign, from the Sentinels who protect the Citadel to the devices that kept the old kingdom running and the Grand Mother locked away. Their legacy is one of technical brilliance and unyielding, tragic devotion to a purpose they did not choose, but were born to serve.

Now the Architects of Pharloom built five automatons, not mere tools, but attempts at life itself, charged with one sacred, eternal duty: "Defence of the sacred Citadel, and the voices that fill it."

Of these noble constructs, we know the tale of the Second Sentinel best. It was an elite guard, a master of the scissor blade, but like the Citadel it was sworn to protect, it fell into a long, silent slumber. Its core, the very mechanism of its duty, was scattered into three pieces—the Cogheart.

It lay a silent shell in the Cogwork Core, a forgotten guardian behind shattered glass, while the Black Threads of the Haunting Silk began to seep into Pharloom.

Then came the Gilded One, the Hunter in Red, Hornet. She descended into the Citadel's ruins, gathering the fragments:

A piece from the musical puzzles of the Choral Chambers.

Another from the solemn Memorium.

The last from the deep, resonating Whispering Vaults.

When Hornet returned the assembled Cogheart to its empty shell, the Second Sentinel awoke.

"Woken, is this sentinel. F-f-f-functional, is its shell. Still devoted, is this s-s-sentinel, and awaiting your commandment."

Newly online, the Sentinel chose to continue its sacred task, now wandering the ravaged Citadel. It would appear as a sudden, silver ally, helping Hornet fight the Silk-enthralled foes, then leaping away once the dust settled.

But its devotion soon turned to doubt, for its core programming carried a chilling secondary duty: "Termination, is the n-n-necessary fate of all those enthralled by the whispering Silk."

It saw the Citadel's dead brought back to twisted life by the threads. It looked upon Hornet, the one who bore the sacred Silk of the Weavers, and saw a potential threat—someone "haunted."

The Sentinel posted a Wish upon the wall, requesting a "Final Audience" with the Gilded One. It was a call to judgment, a desperate attempt to resolve the conflict in its very core.

In the High Halls, it challenged Hornet:

"I had thought I was answering your summons as a friend, or at least an ally... but now that we stand together in this place, I can sense your intent. You mean to raise your blades against me. Am I your enemy, then?"

It fought, not to destroy, but to test the purity of Hornet's will and the clarity of her intent. Upon its defeat, it spoke the words of its own resolution:

"By the purity of your will... the c-c-clarity of your intent, you are innocent of the silken curse. Failed, has this sentinel. Your j-judgement, will it accept?"

Hornet spared the Second Sentinel, proving herself not an enemy, but a true guardian worthy of its respect. Though the Citadel is almost dead, and its voices lay silent, the Second Sentinel still keeps its promise: "To defend. To p-p-protect." It continues its patrols, a flickering, dutiful light in a kingdom overwhelmed by the dark, whispering Silk.

These rewards are something good.

If this world had any of the resources.

[You can make them.]

'Yeah, but it will take time to get it.' I thought as I looked at the summoning structures.

'Sooo what does this do?'

[You can make structures from the Hollow Knight world to come here.]

'But there is a catch, right?' I asked, knowing the system he will not make my life easier.

[Of course, here are the missions to do it.]

[Hollownest]

[Requirements: ????]

[Pharloom]

[Requirements: ????]

'Ok, now how the fuck should I know the requirements if all of them are hidden?'

[Check it out yourself]

This son of bitch isn't it useless then.

'What would I do with a full kingdom that's already destroyed and has no people in it?'

[I think you understand it the wrong way, Host]

'What do you mean?'

[It will not be destroyed, and there will be people.]

The moment I heard his words, I felt this was one of his tricks.

[And to make it better, Pharloom will not have grandmother silk.]

'Yeah, this is too good for an update.'

There was something behind these words, but I couldn't prove it.

I got out of the shower and put on my clothes.

I then got out of the bathroom, looking at the bag where Grimm is.

"Sorry, little guy, I forgot about you." I said as I opened the bag.

"paaa"

Grimm started to fly everywhere, causing him to hit his head on the wall.

"You never change, do you?" I chuckled as I picked him up.

"Now I want you to be hidden from everyone here, alright." I said as he nodded to me.

"Good, now first you mu-"

"Hey Allen, are you coming or not? You're taking so long to-" Loki opened the door, annoyed, probably for waiting, but she stopped the moment she saw Grimm.

"Fffffuck" I said as I tried to hide Grimm behind my back.

"Hey, you flaty don't you know what knocking on the door means?"

"Do you think I'm stupid or something?!" Loki said as she knew about Grimm's existence.

I looked at her.

Blinking two times.

"Maybe."

"Oh, you motherfu-"

"What's going on in here?"

Loki's words got cut off by Finn, who saw the situation.

"Tch, can't I curse him without getting cut off for once?" Loki said as she looked at Finn.

"Allen is hiding something from us."

"Finn, she's lying, she wants to get revenge on me for calling her flat...which is true." I said the last words in a low voice, but I'm pretty sure they heard them.

"If you don't stop, I will-"

"Do what, Loki? First, if you want to remove me from the familia, then I will go to Freya and join her familia, which will be bad for you and your reputation." I said with a happy face.

[Wait, really?]

'HELL NAH' I thought as I remembered something.

Leaving the familia, no thank you, but joining the Freya familia...Yeah, it's a big NO.

[For what reason?]

'Oh please, my instinct is telling me that if I go there, I might die.'

[?]

'Forget about that. The weakness that Loki has is that her enemies are better than her, so of course, she would not let me leave.'

[But wouldn't she know about that lie?]

'Oh, that? I made myself think to leave Loki familia and join Freya many times, and I felt it might be a good idea, which is technically not a lie.'

[So, you played with your own thoughts.]

'Yep'

[...]

I ignored the system and focused on Loki, and then it clicked in my head about her reputation.

"Oh, wait, that if you have any of it, that is?" I said, increasing my smile even further.

"HEY, I HAVE REPUTATION ACTUALLY YOU IDIOT."

"Oh, really, and what is it?" I asked with a smirk.

"Heh, you should know that we are the second be-"

"I will stop you right here." I said, cutting her off.

"I said your reputation, not the familia reputation, and considering you're a god, that means you have one, right?" I said with a smile.

"Huh? Um, that's." As she was thinking about something, Grimm bit my finger, making me flinch.

'GRIMM.' I screamed in my mind, feeling my finger getting eaten.

[Pffft]

I heard the system laugh at the situation, making me annoyed.

I secretly made Grimm fly out of the room through the window.

"Let me help you with that." I said, making me lose patience.

Loki and Finn looked at me curiously.

"One of the biggest perverts in all gods."

"Someone has that spot already." Loki said, saving herself in the last moment.

"Really? Who is it?" I asked, feeling the need to be away from him.

"That's Apollo, he likes men too." Loki said with disgust.

"..."

[Are you ok?]

'HELL, NAH THERE'S GAY AND LESBIAN PEOPLE HERE. TOGETHER.'

[I think you should be grateful to them after all, they take the men and leave more women behind.]

'But that's different when it comes to lesbians. They take women and leave more men behind.'

[...]

[Nvm]

"I'm the most mischievous of all the gods." Loki said, getting me out of my talk with the system.

"Doesn't count. It has to be something from the mortal world." I said, making her annoyed.

"Ok, while you're thinking, level me up here."

I removed my clothes and made a needle made of silk to make her bleed.

"What's wrong?" I noticed their looks at me, which kinda made me feel uncomfortable.

"Did you get bigger or something?" Loki said as she was looking at my body.

"Yeah, you can say..." I stopped talking, thinking about what I should say.

"A type of reward for my hard work." I said, which is technically not a lie.

"Just stop staring and let's start." I said as I lied down my bed.

"Huh? Oh, on it."

The ritual started with Loki readying herself for another surprise because that's Allen, the one who became level 2 in under 2 days.

Normally, when a person levels up, they should tell the guild about it, but Loki didn't because of two things.

One is that if the evilus knew, they might recruit him or kill him for being a threat.

Second is that he will become someone who will change her familia being second place to first place.

'System, from now on, hide the new abilities I get from the Falna.' I thought with my eyes closed.

[Why?]

'Because of Loki.'

[?]

'Right now, Loki sees me as a strong mortal, but if I keep showing her how fast my progress is, she might do something to me.'

[And why would she do that?]

I opened my eyes, looking at Loki, who was focused on the falna.

'Because of the void.' I thought as I started to explain.

'Loki is suspicious of me being the void, which made her think I'm a danger to this world.'

'And to prove my point in our first meeting, before I left, she looked at me as if she knew I didn't tell them everything.'

[Then should I hide the stats too?]

'No, show it because this will make me less suspicious of me.'

[You think she might know you can hide your actual power?]

'Yeah, after all, she's Loki, and every Loki has a different kind of intelligence.'

'Oh, only show the teleportation since she saw it.'

[Alright then]

[Done]

Loki put a paper on my back, then got up and left without saying anything.

"Where are you going?" I asked, as I was confused why she left, even Finn was confused.

"Fuck this shit, I'm out." We heard her voice as we looked at the paper.

---------------------------

Name: Allen

Familia: Loki familia

Level: 6

Strength: 0 I

Endurance: 0 I

Dexterity: 0 I

Agility: 0 I

Magic: 0 I

Skill:

Embrace the void: using void tendril to consume the enemy gaining 2000% of Excelia.

Drawbacks: The user must be in a state of calm focus and emptiness (a "void" of thought) when delivering the final blow for the skill to activate. Any attack made out of pure rage, fear, or panic will prevent the skill from triggering, as the emotional turbulence disrupts the "void."

Warrior Dream: gains a continuous, slight boost to his Endurance and Magic stats the longer he remains separated from his Familia.

Magic:

1. Desolate Dive / Descending Dark

Chant: "Fall to Nothingness

Effect: The user generates a dense, pressurized sphere of black energy (Void) around their body. They then forcefully slam downwards, creating a powerful shockwave that damages all enemies in a small area around the impact point.

Trait: It would have a powerful Guard Break effect, capable of shattering monster carapace or temporarily collapsing weak points in the dungeon floor.

2. Shade Soul / Vengeful Spirit

Chant: "Empty Flash"

Effect: The user fires a fast, crescent-shaped wave of Void energy that travels forward, piercing through the first target it hits and continuing to the next with reduced power.

Trait: It would have an exceptionally high Magical Penetration rating, making it effective against high Magic Resistance targets, but its area of effect would be very narrow.

3. Abyss Shriek

Chant: "From the Deepest Silence"

Effect: The user channels a massive amount of Mind to release an intense, sustained burst of black, coalesced Void energy straight upward. This damages all enemies directly above the user within a significant vertical range.

Trait: This spell would have the highest damage output of the Knight's magic, but it would have a very high Mind cost and a vulnerable full-body-chant time, making it situational.

4. Phantom Arrows

Effect: chants a short line, and metallic, ethereal spears (Nails) manifest rapidly around him, homing in on the target.

5. Shield Circle

A magic that summons two durable, floating, luminous shields that continuously orbit the user, blocking incoming attacks and dealing contact damage.

6. Eridani's Storm

An extension of Shield circle. The user spins the shields outward in an accelerating, widening spiral, making an area around him deadly. This is his close-range deterrent and area-denial attack, consuming a moderate amount of Mind.

7. Absolutus Luminis Salto

Chant:

"O, celestial guide, brightest of the Morning Stars.

Render unto me the purity of the world's dawn.

'Luminis. Salto.'(Light. Leap.)

Pierce the veil of space and time.

'Radii. Absolutus.'(Radiance. Absolute.)

Erase my form into the blinding flash, and place me where the light has touched.

'Absolutus Luminis Salto!'"

Visual and Effect Description:

As the chant progresses, the caster becomes enveloped in an intensely bright golden-white light. This light is so pure and strong that any nearby shadows are instantly banished, and monsters sensitive to light would recoil or suffer minor damage. A faint, complex magic circle made of interlocking golden rings appears beneath the caster.

On the final word, the golden-white light around the caster flares to a point of absolute white-out. The caster's body seems to dissolve entirely into this flash of light, disappearing instantly.

The spell leaves a temporary, brilliant streak of pure white light connecting the caster's starting point to their destination. This trail lasts for a few seconds before dissipating, making the teleportation traceable but not interruptible.

The caster reappears at their chosen destination in another flash of the same blinding light. The light burst itself has a minor side-effect, causing a small, non-lethal kinetic shockwave at the arrival point, momentarily staggering nearby enemies or allies.

----------------------------

"Oh, no wonder she left." I said with a smile.

It's actually make sense.

If you put Pure vessel, Nightmare king, Markoth, Galien, Zote, Enraged gaurdian, and the Traitor lord Power. this was fated to break many limits.

"Allen how did you do it?" Finn asked with a serious expression.

I told him about the evilus and the monster that came up in the 15th floor.

"You said 'more than two hundred Evilus.' Give me the exact numbers, Allen. Evilus are not Goblins; they are organized. They don't cluster like that unless they are making a coordinated, massive move."

"Meh, they saw me as an easy prey and decided to kill me, but I killed them in waves. Fifty-seven in the first choke point, ninety-two in the reservoir tunnel... then scattered groups. I stopped counting after I hit a hundred and sixty. I just kept going. I couldn't stop." I said feeling okay with Finn knowing.

The reason was because every time Finn detect a trouble, he always looks at his thumb which made me think it's a danger detecter.

Finn expression is intense. He is processing the battle, not the numbers.

"That's Level 5 experience just from the sheer volume and stress of human conflict. But the Monsters... you encountered two of them. A monster like this is a Floor-Boss class monster that rips through Level 5s. You were Level 2. How did you survive the first one, let alone kill two?" Finn said looking at my eyes.

"I don't want talk about it." I said closing my eyes.

'I can't tell him about me turning into a mindless beast.'

Finn looked at his thumb feeling nothing from then he looked at me.

"You were a Level 2 who performed the feat of a Level 7, and in doing so, attracted the attention of a power beyond our comprehension. Listen closely, Allen. The Dungeon is predictable. This power is not. We will hide you. We will train you. And you will not tell anyone about it. If the Gods find out you interacted with a phenomenon capable of instantly erasing a monster like this, your life will become forfeit to the politics of Heaven."

Ok, now hold on.

"Finn, I think you got the wrong idea." I said making him confused.

"You will hide me, but I will train you." I said making his thumb shake a lot.

"Can I say no?"

"Nope." I said with a smile.
