Stella rushed to the station after receiving a worrying call. When she arrived, she confirmed what had happened: her daughter, Sonia, and Sonia's husband had been detained.
While Stella was there, her other daughter, Kemi, called. Their mother explained the situation—Sonia and her husband were being held until a bill was paid. The authorities presented Stella with the bill and a plan for how it was to be paid.
Once the payment was settled, they released Sonia and her husband into Stella's care.
After they were all safely together, Stella and Kemi discussed the situation. They agreed that the best course of action was for Sonia and her husband to leave town and return to their hometown for a while.
After Sonia and her husband were released, David returned to the state where the family had fled for safety. He went to bring his son the good news.
When he arrived, he found the children anxious and upset. They had already learned that their parents (Sonia and her husband) had been arrested.
David then gathered them and shared the happy update: "Do not worry anymore. The debt has been paid, and they have been released."
Sonia went back to the state where she and her husband used to live.
Before leaving, she told her mother that Kemi should send her money so she could rent a good apartment in the state and start their new life again.
But Kemi refused, saying she would not send her sister any money until Sonia returned to their hometown.
Sonia moved into Kemi's house. When Kemi and her family also arrived, they all stayed there because it was the only house the family owned.
Meanwhile, David remained in the state where he and Sonia had lived before. He was suffering — he searched for a job but couldn't find anything. There was no one he could turn to for help, yet he knew he had to find a way because he could no longer provide for his family. Without a good job, the situation grew more desperate each day.
Sonia and her mother discussed what kind of work Sonia could do to support herself.
Kemi, however, refused to speak to Sonia anymore because she was angry with her.
Even though Kemi had been sending Sonia money every month, she now said she was tired of doing so and insisted that Sonia find something to do on her own.
Kemi made an unforgettable suggestion: that Sonia should go and sell firewood.
Sonia was unhappy to hear this from her sister.
Sonia agreed and said she was okay with the idea of selling firewood.
Later, Kemi told her husband what had happened with Sonia.
Her husband responded that it was not right to say such a thing to her sister.
"How could you tell your own sister to go and sell firewood?" he asked.
Kemi's husband did not support her in this matter.
Meanwhile, Kemi and her mother-in-law were planning to travel to their hometown soon.
