Suddenly, Kaito felt more energy surging within him, a rich life energy filling his body. The healing efficiency was now more than double what it was before!
"Woo~"
Leafeon stood up and rubbed against Kaito in affection. The two Eevee finally let go of their worries upon seeing this.
"Leafeon, how did you get injured?" Kaito asked gently.
"Woo~"
It turned out they were the Eevee sisters, who had come out from deep within the mountains and relied on each other. Upon arriving here, after a battle, the injured one inexplicably sensed a strong Grass-type energy and then evolved into her current form. As for her injuries, they were sustained some time ago when she was attacked by two Pinsir.
"Sensed Grass-type energy after a battle, huh?" Kaito frowned, then looked around, his gaze finally settling on a rock not far away.
The rock was quite large, requiring several people to embrace it, and its surface was covered with thick, lush moss. After his Viridian Power was enhanced, he became exceptionally sensitive to Grass-type or life energy. He noticed that the Grass-type energy of that rock was particularly strong. It was most likely the Moss Rock that could evolve Eevee into Leafeon.
So the evolutionary conditions are present, but the general public hasn't connected them yet, Kaito realized.
After a moment of thought, Kaito said softly, "Leafeon, would you like to come with me? My name is Kaito, and I have my own farm. You will live very safely there, without facing any risks."
Leafeon looked at the other two Eevee, and after confirming they had no objections, she nodded in agreement. They trusted Kaito.
The shimmering river flowed slowly, like a waving ribbon, welcoming Kaito home. Kaito, covered in dust, rode his Arcanine-brand transportation back to the farm. Because saving Leafeon took some time, it was already dark by the time he returned home.
Inside the farm, lights illuminated the villa, standing out prominently in the night, as if guiding a wanderer home.
Bunnelby sat at the entrance, resting its chin in its hands, occasionally staring out with wide eyes, eagerly awaiting Kaito's return.
Thump, thump, thump... A series of footsteps sounded.
What entered Bunnelby's sight was the valiant and handsome Arcanine, carrying an equally handsome Kaito on its back. Bunnelby's mouth fell open in disbelief. That big dog couldn't be Growlithe, could it?!
Overnight, Ralts evolved. After one trip out, Growlithe also evolved. Only it was still treading water. This was too unfair to a rabbit!
Kaito dismounted and greeted Bunnelby. "Yo, Bunnelby, you've been waiting here for us. You worked hard today too."
"Hoo bi, hoo bi hoo bi!" Bunnelby quickly stood up, gesticulating, saying that it had cleared so much land today and was looking forward to Kaito's return.
Kaito smiled. He planned to reward Bunnelby. However, Bunnelby was different from ordinary Pokémon. Other Pokémon yearned to become stronger, while Bunnelby yearned to become handsome; their goals weren't quite the same.
"Bunnelby, there's something I need to warn you about first."
"Hoo bi?"
"If you want to evolve just to become more handsome, I think it's better if you don't evolve."
Bunnelby tilted its head, completely confused. Why was that?
Kaito cleared his throat, then brought out his Rotom Phone to display a picture of Bunnelby's evolved form, Diggersby.
"Hoo bi?!"
It would actually turn out like that after evolving?! Bunnelby covered its cheeks with its hands, its mouth wide open in terror.
Actually, logically speaking, Pokémon's aesthetics should vary by species. Theoretically, Diggersby, as Bunnelby's evolved form, should be liked by Bunnelby. But it seemed his Bunnelby's aesthetic sense was a bit off, closer to the general public's.
Bunnelby squatted on the ground, starting to draw circles, sadness materializing at this moment and sweeping through its heart. "Hoo bi..." Why could Ralts and Growlithe both become better looking after evolving, but I couldn't? My demands weren't high; reaching Machamp's level was enough.
I don't want to evolve anymore! At least for now, that's what I think.
"Since that's the case, I'll give you another reward," Kaito comforted the heartbroken Bunnelby and took out a simple stone. "If you don't want to evolve, you can keep this Everstone with you, and you'll maintain your current appearance. If you change your mind, just take off this stone, and you can continue to evolve."
"Hoo bi hoo bi." Bunnelby nodded obediently. Compared to becoming fat and ugly, it would rather maintain its current appearance. At least for now, that's what it believed.
Kaito didn't force it; this was Bunnelby's own choice. Moreover, Bunnelby isn't a Pokémon for professional battles; it just digs soil on the farm, so there's no need to overly pursue strength.
"Niiii-keh, niiii-keh." Machamp's voice came from inside the house, calling them in for dinner.
Kaito rubbed his stomach, feeling genuinely hungry. Walking through the door, wafts of appetizing aroma assailed his nostrils, making the gluttonous worms in his stomach stir, unable to resist.
At the dining table, Machamp had prepared a table full of dishes, emitting an enticing aroma that made one's appetite soar.
"Oh, Lili," Kaito said. "I brought the Mareep and them back, and I also brought back some Poochyena and Miltank, plus a few new friends."
"Niiii-keh?!" Machamp was instantly excited to hear the farm had grown.
