"You'll definitely win this time, Ash," Alex Carter said, watching Haunter affectionately approach Ash.
"Ahahaha, then good luck, Ash!" Brock said with a forced laugh.
"What's wrong? Brock, you're acting strange," Ash asked, puzzled.
"I'm still a bit unaccustomed to your new friend," Brock said, waving his hand.
"He's fine, actually. After looking at him for a while, I think he's quite cute," Misty said, looking at Haunter.
Haunter, upon hearing this, rubbed against Misty, then extended his tongue and licked her, causing Misty to faint.
"Haunter, you made her faint again!" Ash said, frowning.
"However, in this city, there's a Trainer named Natsume, and she has a Psychic Pokémon. Haunter, you're a Ghost-type Pokémon, so you're not afraid of Psychic. Are you willing to help me?" Ash asked, clenching his fists.
Haunter nodded, smiling and agreeing.
"Natsume, that terrifying Trainer. Last time, you beat us badly, but this time it won't be that easy."
After Ash finished speaking, Brock and Misty stopped walking behind him.
"What's wrong with you two?" Ash asked, scratching his head.
"Last time you failed your challenge and got us involved. This time, we're not going with you," Misty said, holding a flag.
"But I've already caught Haunter this time, haven't I?" Ash said with an awkward smile, clearly recalling how they were turned into dolls last time.
"And you don't look like you've caught Haunter; it looks more like Haunter has possessed you," Brock said, worry etched on his face.
Upon returning to the Gym, Ash stood on the challenge field.
"Natsume, I demand a one-on-one Pokémon battle with you."
Natsume sat calmly in her chair, and the small cloth doll in her arms spoke coldly: "You want to battle with your Pokémon? But your Pikachu won't be able to defeat my Pokémon."
"This time, it absolutely won't be like last time," Ash said confidently.
"If you lose, you'll have to stay and keep me company," the doll said.
After speaking, Natsume, holding the doll, floated down from the chair and then whispered, "Go, Kadabra."
The doll released her hand, throwing out a Poké Ball and releasing Kadabra.
"My Pokémon is Haunter. Go, Haunter!" Ash's face beamed with a victorious smile.
"What? You've already caught Haunter?" Natsume's face rarely showed a hint of surprise.
Alex, of course, knew where this surprise came from, as he was the one who had helped defeat Natsume with Haunter.
"What's wrong?" Natsume asked coldly.
"Huh? Haunter, stop fooling around. You're here, aren't you? Come out quickly!" Ash said, looking left and right.
"It seems Haunter is still too impulsive," Brock said helplessly.
"That's an unknown Ghost Pokémon!" Misty said, holding her forehead.
"No way, how can Ash be so unlucky?" Alex said, his mouth twitching.
He had gone through so much trouble to persuade that Haunter, only for it to disappear at this critical moment.
"How could this happen? I'm so disappointed," Ash said with a tearful face.
"What are you doing? Hurry up and send out a Pokémon," Natsume said impatiently.
"Otherwise, I'll catch all of you."
"This is bad! Quickly send out another Pokémon!" Misty said anxiously.
But at this moment, Ash's Pokémon had all retreated to the wall, unwilling to battle the terrifying Kadabra.
"What exactly are you doing?!" Natsume said angrily.
"I… I don't have any," Ash said awkwardly.
"I asked what you are doing?!" Natsume's eyes glowed golden, looking terrifying, and her hair floated up.
"I forfeit the match," Ash said, then ran out.
Alex, Misty, and Brock could only follow him out.
"You all can't escape," the doll in Natsume's arms whispered.
Afterward, a door dropped down at the Gym's exit, trapping Ash and Alex inside.
Suddenly, the doll from Natsume's hand flew in from behind.
"Oh no, the door is blocked!" Brock said, running from behind.
Then, Brock and Misty, who were walking behind, were suddenly turned into cloth dolls by the doll.
Afterward, the doll floated in the air and said, "Who should I turn into a doll next?"
Alex stared nervously at the doll in front of him. Although he could defeat Natsume's Pokémon, he felt he had no chance against her Psychic abilities.
At this moment, an uncle suddenly appeared out of nowhere.
"Huh? It's you, Uncle?" Ash said, surprised to see him.
"Who is this person, Ash?" Alex asked, becoming wary of the uncle who appeared out of thin air.
"It's a long story, but in this situation, it's probably better to escape first," the uncle said, turning back to Ash and Alex.
"Focus your mind, Teleport!" With that, a white flash appeared, and Alex and Ash were instantly moved to a corner of the city.
"Alex, let me introduce you. This is the uncle who saved us when you were fighting Team Rocket outside. At that time, I lost the battle and Natsume shrunk me," Ash introduced excitedly.
Alex, however, frowned and remained silent. Psychic users were indeed incredibly powerful…
Back in the Gym, Natsume walked up to Brock and Misty's cloth dolls, her eyes turning cold as she said, "Was it him?"
