"Miss me, Bella?" The moment the words left my mouth, my body hummed like a live wire. Not metaphorically. Physically.
Muscle, nerve, bone, everything vibrated with a thrill I hadn't felt in years. The kind that made blood feel thicker, heavier. The kind that meant something dangerous was about to happen, and I was going to enjoy every second of it. And I'll be the sole creator of such chaos.
I don't know why I f*cking love to live in thrill. It makes me alive. I crave it, and many fewer things make me so excited, and she was one of them.
She stopped mid-step. Not dramatically. Not abruptly. Just… froze. Something was going on through her mind. Exhaustion. Annoyance or fear. Maybe all at once.
It was obvious she wanted me to leave her alone, but how can I when she was the sole reason for my excitement these past few days?
