"Gavin..." His name left my lips, but fury blazed through my veins like wildfire. The audacity of this man. Three days of complete silence, leaving me hanging without a single word of explanation, and now he waltzed in here acting like nothing had happened? Like he could just swipe his card and make everything disappear?
I whipped around to face the cashier, my voice cutting through the tension. "I'm paying for this myself. Use my card, not his."
The young woman behind the counter looked between us nervously, clearly uncomfortable being caught in the middle of whatever this was. I spoke again, my tone sharper and more demanding. "My card. Now."
