Sam's POV.
I stepped into the restaurant, I was hungry and tired that evening. I'd left Tania alone over an hour ago when she still seemed strong on flirting and getting free drinks.
"Hello ma'am, welcome." Said a waiter who had sighted me walked in. He led me towards a quiet area to sit.
I was still observing the scenery, because it was a new restaurant in town, when someone's voice loud and obnoxious distracted me. Turning up to my front, Bella had walked in along with her friends--two ladies I recognized from when I was still married to her brother.
I wanted to turn and hide, but I wasn't scared of her. I just didn't want to lose my appetite because of her!
Just as I was still thinking of what next to do, another familiar face walked in. I smiled as I sighted Danny. With an attempt to go and meet him, it was disrupted when Bella rushed towards him, wrapping her arms around him. I fell back into my seat, filled with surprise.
Bella knew Danny?? Did he not know she was part of my in-laws? Those that hate and despise me??
I couldn't make up much of what they were saying, but Bella was super excited. The same waiter walked past my side and I used that opportunity to snoop around.
He turned to her and began to talk calmly. "Oh, her? She and him come in here from time to time."
"For what? Sorry for snooping around."
He smiled, "it's fine Sam." The way he called my name, it was like he knew me before. "I'm Philip. We're in the same entrepreneur training program."
Philip?? Of course I remembered him! Always sarcastic, but bright. He looked different in his waiter white and black uniform instead of his classical style at the training. Brown hair deep almost like black, made up his shaggy hairstyle.
"I'm so sorry, Philip. I really didn't...recognize you." I looked him up and down again, he smiled.
"It's fine. That lady Bella? She's some sort of influencer, a blogger? I dunno. She wants to feature him in her latest post."
I frowned. Why would Danny want to feature in her blog??? I should go meet them, to ruin whatever this reunion was all about!
"It's best to leave them alone, if I were you." He said to me.
"But you don't know who they are--"
"Bella, Justin's sister, Danny, your company's latest investor?" He said quickly.
My eyes widened. "Are you stalking me?"
"Please, I have a lot to do. Where's the time to stalk others?"
"Then how did you--"
"Sam?" I heard my name from Danny. Damn it, they found me. Philip gave me a look, like he was filling me up with confident. I sighed, I wasn't afraid of her!
"Hey, waiter leave that poor girl alone," Bella screamed out. Before I knew it, they were approaching me.
Danny reached out for a hug, as if everything was alright. "I didn't know you're here, meet Bella Anderson."
He was introducing me to this brat! "You don't know we've met?" I quried him. "She's my bratty sister in law, former sister in law."
"How do you two even know each other!" Bella demanded. "Danny, I want her out of here. And fast."
A smile appeared on my face. She didn't know who Danny was to me. "Go on, Danny. Send me out of here."
"I have no idea what's going on here, but I hate seeing your face right now! Waiter boy? Call security right now." She pushed further again.
Philip just remained calm. "Are you deaf?" She said again.
"Will you calm down? I have no idea what this union is between you both, but I'm going to put and end to it now. Danny, I'm starving. Let's have dinner together."
"It's so cute that you think you have a say in this. However, you don't."
"What makes you say so?" I rolled my eyes and waited for her dumb answer.
"Because I have the upper hand here. I know who the owner of this restaurant is, and I'm going to call him to kick you out right now."
Philip scoffed."Please, do that right now."
"Hey, waiter boy!" Bella snapped."It's none of your business. Leave us alone."
"Bella, you have been so rude and full of yourself. After your brother and I divorce, one would think you'd be smart to get off my back at last. If you keep bothering me, I might just have to deal with you."
She threw her head back and roared out in laughter.
"Sam, it's enough. Don't worry, I'll take care of this. Just leave now, okay? Wait in the car. I'll come find you." Danny said, and I couldn't believe my eyes. Why was he taking sides with Bella and not me??
"This is enough. Danny, send her away right now." Bella warned."You know what will happen if you don't. Besides, use your power and kick her out right now."
What would happen? Why was Bella threatening Danny! How could she even threaten him?
"Please, use your power." Philip said. He seemed confident than a simple waiter should.
"What's your deal?" Danny demanded."Just leave already."
"That's it, Danny call the owner of the restaurant and ban both this fool waiter and Sam from ever stepping foot in here." She said, happy in herself.
Danny picked up his phone, he was staring at me. How dare he do as Bella had asked? What was going on that I didn't know about!
"The owner is not available. But don't worry, Bella. I'll speak to Sam, you don't have to worry." Danny recited it irked me!
"Danny! What's going on right now?" I demanded.
Philip said calmly, "are you sure you called the owner at all?"
Danny flinched. Bella stepped in before he could say anything. "Of course he did! They're acquainted."
Philip smiled again."No they're not. I'd know, because I'm the owner of this restaurant. And because of Sam over here, I'm kicking the two of you out ASAP."
