Chapter 23 - Chapter 23: Abomination’s Death, Amy Leaves in Panic

"Bang—!!!"

The two massive fists collided, and shockwaves rippled outward like a tsunami, blasting debris from both sides of the street dozens of meters away.

The sheer force sent the Hulk stumbling backward three steps—each one leaving a half-meter-deep crater in the pavement.

"Boom…"

The Abomination shot backward like a cannonball, crashing through two buildings before finally coming to a halt. Concrete fragments rained down like hail, and thick clouds of dust billowed into the sky.

"Hulk—stronger!!"

The Hulk pounded his chest, the thunderous boom rattling the eardrums of distant soldiers.

From the ruins, the Abomination crawled out, straightened his twisted arm with a sly grin, and roared in fury:

"The battle isn't over yet!"

He slammed his foot into the ground—so hard it collapsed beneath him—and used the recoil to launch himself at the Hulk like a missile.

"Bang!!"

The two titans crashed together and tumbled for dozens of meters. Wherever they rolled, the asphalt tore up like a carpet, underground pipes burst, and geysers of water shot skyward—some over ten meters high.

At the edge of the battlefield, a communications soldier knelt behind an armored vehicle, gripping a tactical tablet. His camera shook violently as it tracked the distant, raging monsters.

The Hulk slammed the Abomination into a department store—and the entire building collapsed in a cloud of smoke and dust.

Aboard a transport helicopter, Betty Ross and General Thaddeus Ross watched the real-time battlefield feed with grim expressions.

The Abomination's destructive power far exceeded expectations—and right now, the Hulk seemed to be the only one capable of matching him.

After a moment's thought, General Ross pressed his communicator and spoke in a cold, commanding voice:

"All units, concentrate fire on the ugly monster—create an opening for the Hulk. Repeat: prioritize suppression of the primary hostile target!"

The moment the order crackled over the comms, the battlefield shifted.

Machine gunners who had been holding their fire on the Hulk swiveled their turrets toward the Abomination. Snipers loaded specialized magazines. Apache helicopters flanked the beast from both sides.

"Target locked! Fire!"

At the commander's signal, twelve M1A2 Abrams main battle tanks opened up simultaneously.

"Bang! Bang! Bang—!"

The roar of 120mm smoothbore cannons filled the air as armor-piercing rounds streaked across the sky in blazing white trails—slamming into the Abomination's back with pinpoint accuracy.

"BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM—!"

Explosions engulfed him. Though the shells couldn't pierce his hide, the sheer impact staggered him backward several steps.

Seizing the opening, the Hulk unleashed a devastating uppercut that caught the Abomination square on the jaw—launching him high into the air.

"Bang!!!"

"Sniper, take position!"

On a nearby rooftop, a Barrett M82A1 sniper rifle barked to life, firing .50-caliber armor-piercing incendiary rounds—aimed precisely at the Abomination's eyes and joints.

The bullets couldn't kill him, but they were enough to throw off his balance and disrupt his movements.

Meanwhile, an AH-64 Apache hovered at an altitude of one thousand meters. The pilot calmly reported:

"Hellfire missiles armed and ready—awaiting clearance."

Enraged by the onslaught, the Abomination ripped half a city bus from the street and hurled it toward the helicopter.

"Bang!!"

—but the Hulk intercepted it midair. The two colossal forces collided, and the bus shredded apart like paper.

Just as the Abomination was once again pinned down by artillery fire—so thoroughly suppressed he could hardly raise his head—

Fischl stood atop the bell tower two kilometers away, her right eye flashing with lightning! She drew her longbow to its full length, the arrow etched with blinding purple electricity, and shouted:

"Oz!"

"All as you wish, milady."

Oz instantly understood her intent. In a flash, he transformed into a bolt of lightning and shot across the sky above the battlefield, his wings scattering countless tiny Electro sigils.

Swish, swish, swish—!!

Fischl released the bowstring. The lightning-wrapped arrow split midair into dozens of bolts, each streaking toward the sigils.

BOOM——!

Thunder engulfed the Abomination like a cage, shattering his desperate attempt to shift the battlefield away from the U.S. military's diversionary assault.

Seizing the opening, Hulk charged forward, clamped both hands onto the Abomination's shoulders, and smashed his forehead into the monster's face.

Crack!

The sound of breaking bone rang out clearly—the Abomination's nose collapsed—but he whirled around and raked Hulk's chest with a claw, driving the bone spurs jutting from his body deep into green flesh. Dark green blood splattered across the ruins, instantly corroding into bursts of white smoke.

Yet the searing pain only fueled Hulk's rage. His muscles swelled further, bulging with raw power. He seized the Abomination's head and slammed it into the ground like a wrecking ball!

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM—!!

While the Abomination reeled in dazed confusion, Hulk's steel-strong arms locked around his neck from behind.

Veins writhed like serpents across Hulk's forearms as his muscles coiled with crushing force. The Abomination's cervical vertebrae groaned under the strain.

But even a mindless beast, faced with death, could descend into utter madness.

His eyes turned blood-red. Bone spurs erupted across his body. His muscles swelled again—visibly, impossibly—until he began to wrench Hulk's grip apart.

Crack…

The ground beneath them shattered, sending rubble and dust flying. The Abomination roared, tendons knotting as he slowly forced Hulk's arms wider…

"Night's Vision——!"

A cold voice sliced through the chaos.

Fischl descended like a phantom, her black-and-purple Gothic skirt fluttering in the wind as she dropped from the sky.

Her right eye blazed with dazzling lightning. The longbow in her hands was drawn to a perfect crescent, the arrow coiled in thousands of volts of thunder, aimed straight into the gaping maw of the Abomination.

BOOM—!!!

The instant the arrow left the string, the sky and earth dimmed.

Then—purple lightning crashed down like divine judgment, striking the Abomination with cataclysmic force.

Terrifying currents surged through his open mouth, ravaging his insides with raw Electro energy.

"Ughh…!"

The Abomination's massive body convulsed violently. Lightning flickered beneath his skin, and his eyeballs vaporized instantly from the heat.

"Impossible…"

His roar of hatred cut off mid-breath.

As torrents of Electro energy flooded his form, his body swelled to its breaking point—and then—

BANG!!!

With an earth-shattering explosion, the Abomination detonated. Charred fragments rained down like blackened hail.

The shockwave ripped through the entire block, hurling Hulk dozens of meters backward until he crashed into the ruins of a collapsed building.

Fischl landed gracefully on the scorched battlefield, her skirt settling softly around her. One hand rested on her hip; the other gently touched her eyepatch as she addressed the smoldering wreckage:

"Hehe~ Under this princess's Thunder of Judgment, even a monster is reduced to ash. A trivial feat for the Messenger of the Prinzessin der Verurteilung—the Pure Land of Dark Night…"

"Indeed, my lady," Oz said, alighting beside her with a graceful flutter of his wings. "Your power has cleansed this defiled land—"

"Angel!"

"My lady goddess!"

"Chuunibyou? So cute!"

"Take a picture!"

"Quick, livestream this!"

...

Suddenly, cheers erupted from all around.

As the smoke cleared, Fischl realized that nearby soldiers and civilians—those who'd survived the battle—had emerged from hiding, all aiming their smartphones at her.

Her body froze. The tips of her ears flushed crimson. She stammered:

"Ugh! How dare these ignorant mortals—! Hmph… Oz! Go, go, GO!"

Panicked, she grabbed the crow by his claws. In a flash of violet lightning, girl and bird vanished on the spot—leaving only a few fading arcs of electricity in their wake.
