"SIR!" An Astartes, covered head-to-toe in unfamiliar armour, roared in shock as the emblem on his shoulder gleamed under the hangers' artificial lights.
In front of the astartes was a gathering of beasts, some larger than even emperor-class god engines and others just larger than the average second legion astartes.
At the centre of the cologimation of beasts was one of golden scales with a red and blue mix, its head large enough to eat a warhound titan. It looked at the floor as its rider prepared.
A man, shouldering armour thicker than some tanks, had a pair of golden scaly wings hanging from his armour.
The man standing at twelve feet looks at the astartes, a sword at the giant's hip, glowing with emanating power, which makes anyone who comes too close feel dread and fear.
"Yes, Fred." A strong, deep voice replied to the astartes as the giant's hands moved faster and faster, fastening the metal straps around the gigantic dragon's neck.
"My lord, this is suicide!" Fred yelled in shock at Nazareth, who was about to attempt a boarding onto the vengeful spirit.
Nazareth didn't even turn and continued to check the straps around Viserion's neck whilst the gathered dragons roared and hissed.
"Breach Detected Floor 55 to 60" A mechanical voice echoed from the PA system as the ship shook.
"Please, my lord. We are loyal, take us with you. We cannot bear to see our primarch fight against the arch traitor alone!" Fred's voice pleaded as he dropped to his knees. The ceramite armour made a high-pitched scream as it was dragged on the floor.
"No," Nazareth replied dryly, today was the day when he was to kill Horus for those he had murdered.
Trillions burn as Horus's crusade brought destruction and annihilation to thousands of worlds.
Climbing onto Viserion's back, the dragon seemed ready as it roared. The roar carried through the air, reaching every corner of the gloriana-class battleship.
At Viserion's roar, the hangar doors opened as Nazareth placed his dragon-like helm over his head, the pressure seals clamping as air began to be pumped through his mask.
Fred watched in horror and fear as the group of dragons began to fly, their wings defying logic as the air of the hangar was rushed into the emptiness of space.
Even watching from where he knelt, he could feel the anger and disappointment exploding from his primarch as man and dragon flew from the hangar.
- The Vengeful Spirit -
"Report!" Horus yelled, his eyes burning like fire watched as his armada was being eaten alive by his brother's arrival.
"Fulgrim has begun to retreat, and Angron is currently absent!" A Astartes near a consul yelled to his primarch, fear and anger at the situation present within the man's voice.
"What were those damn daemons doing!" Horus yelled once again as small amounts of blood flowed from his mouth.
Even upon his ship, heavily fortified and entrapped by layer upon layer of void shields and arrays to ward any loyalist, he could still feel his brothers' warp presence through the warp.
The emotions emanating from the presence made the anger of Khorne all those years ago seem small.
Within Horus's mind were four sets of eyes which watched through his eyes. All coloured differently, yet all showed the same trembling expression as the feelings emanating from Nazareth spread through the warp-torn space around Terra.
"Lower the Gamma Fields!" Horus suddenly yelled.
The group of Astartes and servitors still present within the Vengeful Spirit command room all paused and looked at their Primarch. Silence held thick as they all wondered, even for a split second, if their primarch had truly gone mad.
That was before the programming and external influences of the warp made them comply.
- Lucercarls Court -
"Brother Please" Sanguinius pleaded, his wings partly torn and blood covered gave the already angelic primarch a feeling of godly as the primarch pled.
Standing just away was Horus, talons primed with lightning arching between fingers, whilst in his other hand he held worldbreaker.
The two moved around the courtroom, not letting their eyes leave one another.
"Please Brother. We both know that when Nazareth arrives, you have no chance of redemption," Sanguinius pleaded once again, his voice weak yet determined. Although his father had spoken of Horus's decent he still believed that the brother who had fought battle after battle was still there.
The two stopped moving, their armour becoming a deafening silence as both stood in a standoff.
The next was a piercing sonic boom which resounded and vibrated the central columns holding the courtroom.
Sanguinius held within his hand the blade of Encarmine, which moved like a leaf through the air. Horus, however, met his brother's sword with his worldbreaker.
The two weapons connecting made atoms within the air nearly split from the force emitting from both parties.
"Please, Brother..." Sanguinius called out once again as Horus's claws glowed with otherworld energies.
What happened next sent an explosive amount of energy from the two. Horus's claw in swift motion moved to Sanguinius's side.
Sanguinius, trying to block with his other hand, placed the moonsilver blade in the claw's path. The two weapons met, and yet the blade broke.
The claws pierced weapon and armour as Sanguninius felt the pain of the claws digging into his intestines.
He had but little time as the worldbreaker came down, breaking the Encarmine and slamming into Sanugnius face.
Blood and feathers both exploded as Sanguinius was sent flying into the column.
Horus stood looking at his dieing brother with contempt.
The angel, bleeding and dying, mouthed words trying to talk, but he could no longer talk. Blood had flowed and block Sanguniusus vocal cords, preventing even the gurgling of death.
From outside the courtroom came the sound of a meteor slamming into the walls. The walls battered from external bombardments gave way as a dragon's head, golden and raw, opened in its maw.
Horus, shocked by the dragon, tried to block with his personal shield and warp barriers.
The dragon released gulps of fire into the room, the very air itself ignited, and columns began to melt under the searing heat.
The intense sear continued for at least a minute before the dragon pulled back, allowing its rider to jump through the massive hole in the wall.
From outside into the depths of space, the vengeful spirit was being pummeled, streaks of bombers and dragons released gulps of fire upon its surface. Metal was melted and froze under the coldness of space.
The room, already devoid of air from the intensity of the fire, began to cool as the remaining particles were forced into space by the gaping hole where a single figure stood.
- Nazareth's POV -
My eyes looked around the room.
Everything was washed in black and molten red, the earlier blasts of dragonic fire still lingering even with the removal of air.
"HORUS!" I roared. A low gutteral which even in the vacuum of space carried across the courtroom.
From behind a molten column came the sounding of ceramite footsteps against ashen floor.
Horus stood there staring at his brother, although without a helm, Horus held indifference as he scanned Nazareth.
"Brother" Horus spoke, low, but the sound carried into Nazareth's mind.
In the corner, partially buried by ash and molten columnbs layed Sanguninus, his wings burned, hair gone, only the bloodied, near-dead look still looking otherworldly, locked onto Nazareth.
The three brothers had little time to continue inspecting one another as Nazareth swung first.
His sword, a mixture of green, white and black, fully pierced the first layer of Horus's armour.
Shock overwhelmed his face as Horus looked down, within the firing of a neuron, Nazareth had moved across 100 metres and swung, piercing Horus's armour, leaving the heretical primarch frozen.
The gods watching through Horus's eyes were also shocked; even the gods could not see Nazareth's strike.
Khorne, tone filled with anger, yelled, "KILL HIM, I'LL GIVE YOU ANYTHING, KILL HIM!!!"
Slaneesh shreiked "KILL HIM, AND I'LL GRANT YOU ANYTHING!!!"
Nurgle simply looked with displeasure and stayed silent.
Tneentzch roared, "TAKE HIS EYES, HORUS, AND I'LL GIFT YOU ANYTHING!!!"
The echoes of the three chaos gods made Horus stumble as he tried to collect himself from three of the four most powerful beings in the universe, screaming with his head.
This gave Nazareth another opportunity as hand glasped around the talon of Horus and broke it.
The sounding of metal being crushed under a worldly weight resounded in the vacuum as Horus yelled in pain.
"YOU ARE A TRAITOR TO MANKIND", Nazareth roared again as his sword was raised and, with all his might, brought down.
Horus, however, recovering, raised his worldbreaker in time for the weapons to collide.
Worldbreaker, a weapon forged under dying stars by the emperor himself, gave a piercing scream as the metal. Atomicly denser than any within the known galaxy broke.
