Chapter 10 - Daylight

To Dominic's surprise, the suite seemed quiet.

He assumed that he would hear screams of pleasure as he entered, but he couldn't.

Maybe humans didn't last all night like they did, he thought as he started puffing his chest.

He started smirking to himself when he suddenly heard laughter coming from Phoenix's room and then a moan following.

The realization set in that he was just experiencing a quiet moment, a reprieve as he grabbed his glass and headed to his room.

Unwilling to hear what he was sure would be a long night.

Dominic planned to do his best to block all of it out.

Not far from the grumpy guard and sex crazed minions were the newly bonded three amigos.

When Julius walked in, he noticed that the two friends he had left behind were sleeping peacefully, and he had a feeling it wasn't something the young female typically got to experience.

Taking a moment to consider his options, he chose to wait until morning to drop his assumptions on them.

Whatever the trap he started walking into was, somehow, he managed to avoid it for the evening.

For now, she was safe, just like his friend had asked him to keep her.

Morning seemed to come shining her bright rays way too early for more than a few people that day.

Regarding the guards who stayed up way too late, enjoying the flesh of women, penetrating their bodies deep, into their warm, moist pits of seduction, they didn't want to move.

The said women were still lying beside them, sharing the same sentiment, grabbing on as if to ensure that the men lying with them, whom they had captured the night before, didn't move.

In one room, the mesmerized redhead started wrapping her leg around Phoenix, in an effort to indicate that her pleasure center was waking up and ready to show him just how aroused she was first thing in the morning.

Phoenix felt like she was looking into his soul when her emerald eyes found his oceanic appearing ones, as she ran her fingers through his clean-cut sandy blonde hair.

It was obvious she wasn't done as her right hand moved from his hair down his impeccably smooth face toward his chest.

Her perfectly pink and perky nipples stood at attention as she started sliding on top of him to give him a proper good morning.

His mind was racing; he thought only his kind was so sex driven, but man, was he starting to really reconsider everything he was taught.

All he could do was sit there, as the morning light crept into the room, showing him every inch of the incredible woman who straddled him, and he began to have a new respect for the daylight hours.

Just across the hall, there was a similar situation, but it was Raphael who was the instigator.

The beauty with ebony hair, like a night with no moon, crept into her hair and refused to give way.

This goddess of a woman was being woken up to kisses down her neck as she spread her legs, grabbing his hand and pulling it into position to go wake her up anyway he felt.

This was better than he could have dreamt, as he slid his hand between her thighs and found the warmth of their meeting place.

As he caressed her and was reminded of just how warm and inviting she really was, her eyes opened, and he could recall just how captivating they were.

Grey, but so grey that they almost seemed to be violet.

He couldn't even remember seeing eyes like that before.

She was so wet that he knew he didn't have to do much before he could climb on top of her and have his way with her, and that's just what he did, as he climbed on and slid right in with a smile of pleasure on his face.

If this was what heaven felt like, he no longer feared dying in battle or on any mission he was sent on.

On the other side of the suite, their General wasn't waking up as happy as they were.

Last night was running through his mind as he stepped out on his balcony, so he muffled the sounds that began to reach him through the walls as the four other occupants were indulging in their morning.

Dominic stood trying to reach harmony with nature as he glanced over the deep forest that covered the ground outside his room.

That was starting to feel impossible as he walked back toward his bedroom door and, poking his head out, "SHUT UP ALREADY" he growled.

Feeling quite amused with himself, he ventured back over to his previous post on the balcony and continued to soak in the rays of the sun that felt warm on his skin and the calming feel of the trees that felt like they surrounded him.

Phoenix and Raphael, even though in separate rooms, reacted the same way instantly.

Hearing the agitation in their General's voice, they covered the girls' mouths without hesitation, or missing a single thrust.

Neither was sure what had him in a mood, but they didn't want to stop what they were doing to find out either.

What could possibly change between then and an hour from then?

Over in the apartment, Ayla was starting to stir when she realized that Julius was already up and waiting on the couch for them to wake up and talk to him.

In her mind, that automatically signaled trouble.

Was that what she was sensing last night, or was he up to something since Alexander was sleeping?

He didn't want her to stay there, and he didn't know how to say it then.

Her whole life had been run by fear, and this was no different.

Before she let her mind get the best of her, jumping to conclusions, she thought it would be better to wait and see what he was going to say first.

"Are you waiting for us to wake up, or just me" she asked, feeling like she already knew the answer.

"I am waiting for you both. I didn't want to wake either of you up because I know you probably both needed the sleep. The next best thing was to wait. Can I get you anything while we wait for him" he asked politely.

Ayla was caught by surprise by his gentle manner with her.

She had seen him interacting with Alexander, but her was blunt and rough.

With her, he seemed gentle and caring, like he knew something or had concern for her.

What had he been told?

Just then, a voice emerged from beside her, "Oh, don't tell me after all this time, you finally learned how to be a caring human being with manners" he chuckled as his chest started convulsing lightly.

"What's wrong with being respectful while you are sleeping. That is what you demanded of me when you brought her in yesterday, is it not? 'Julius, we have a guest, please be respectful,' were your exact words, I believe" he said.

Alexander couldn't argue with him.

At the same time, he knew something was off.

"Why are you waiting for us to wake up. Do you need something" he asked.

"Actually, I need to know what the story is. I need to know about Ayla" he spoke very sternly and matter-of-factly, which caught both of their attention.

"Did something happen" Ayla asked.

"I'm not sure, so I need you to tell me everything. That is the only way I can be certain" Julius replied.

Ayla nodded and told him everything that she had told Alexander so far.

She didn't want to overload either of them, so if he knew enough, then so would Julius.

The poor girl felt awful as Julius went through a gamut of emotions knowing what she had to of felt living the life she had, yet sitting in front of him, he would have never known.

Julius wanted to ease the tension in the room a bit before adding to it.

Clearing his throat so his voice didn't shake, "Speaking of your little death jump, I took your vest to get cleaned. That thing reeked. I know why now. Waterfall, followed by a hideout in a cave, man" he exclaimed.

"What am I supposed to wear to work" Alexander asked.

"Calm down, I checked a new one out for you" he pointed at the rack by the door.

"You would have never known if I hadn't told you I swapped them. Now tell me about these men who keep trying to kidnap you. What do you know about them? Have you figured anything out about why or who they are? Is there a certain amount that seems to consistently keep up with you" Julius asked.

Ayla sighed, "I haven't ever paid attention, I've always..." but she was cut off before she could finish.

Alexander knew those weren't random questions, "Those seem like oddly specific questions, J. What happened last night? Did you learn something? I need the whole picture here" and Alexander's intensity thickened as he finished speaking.

His roommate looked nervously between the man and woman on the couch.

He desperately wanted to say everything that happened, but he didn't want to spook the young woman.

If he said something wrong and she ran off, his best friend would hate him.

What if he didn't say anything and they were after her, and he led them straight to her?

It felt like forever had passed, but it was only seconds.

"I don't know for sure, but I have a strong feeling that what I encountered last night is related to what you encountered at the waterfall, and the Ayla" he said, and then paused.

The young man was waiting for some kind of sign to keep going, but there was nothing; they were waiting for him to keep going.

"Okay, I didn't think anything about it at first. We had these two beasts of men dancing on the bar. Typical men getting drunk and carried away. No big deal. What was odd was that the third one seemed to command them. With one whistle, they seemed to look at us, jump down, and leave. I was fine with that. No muss, no fuss. Cool. The weird part was when I was leaving" he was interrupted.

"What do you mean" Ayla asked, looking worried.

"The one that seemed to command the other two was sitting all alone in the dark. I couldn't find the rest. I still don't know where they were, but he seemed to be waiting for me. I don't know if he was or not. As soon as I was close enough, he stood up and approached me. He thanked me for letting him handle his men. Said they had been on a mission for a long time, and he was letting them blow off some steam. It set alarms off in my head. Of all the places to be, why here? What if their mission isn't over? I had the feeling he was interested in me, so I didn't come straight home" and he was interrupted again.

"It was probably a good thing you didn't come straight here. I was still tired, and I wouldn't have been much help. You did amazing. Something does seem off about the situation. Were you about to get anything else" Alexander asked.

"If you let me talk, I will tell you" he said, frustrated.

Alexander chimed in again, "I'm sorry, I'm just worried about Ayla".

"Clearly. Now, where was I? Right. So, I felt like he might follow me. Instead of continuing my normal walk home, I darted off into one of my secret paths and waited for him to pass. Sure enough, he walked right by. I could see him looking around for me. I don't know what he was hoping to accomplish, but I put a big hole in whatever it was. I followed him until he was in a hotel room. He isn't local. That tells me that he IS still on his mission" he said as he gestured that he was done talking.

"How would he know that I have anything to do with you" Ayla asked, "You've never been seen with me. I just got here".

"That's a good question. I would have to think about it and try hard to figure it out" he responded.

Alexander was sitting quietly on the couch next to her, thinking about it all, "It's because of me. He was wearing the same outfit I was at the waterfall, and my vest was in his hands".

Ayla and Julius were looking at him with their eyebrows scrunched.

"Don't you get it. They targeted the club. I work at the club. I had the uniform on. When he came in, he said he took my vest in to switch it out because it reeked. They had to have seen him carrying it. One plus one, obviously, equals two. They realized that I'm with you, and he's with me. If they could follow him, then they could maybe get to you" he said as if he had just solved world hunger.

"Do you think they are smart enough to figure all that out" Julius asked.

"Maybe" he said, "I mean, I did".

"Yeah, because you have all the facts. They don't have them. I will give them some credit; they might be probing in the right direction, but I don't think they have it yet. I could see the wheels spinning, but that old guy hadn't figured it out yet. He had no clue who I was or how I connected to it. I can promise you that" Julius proclaimed proudly.

"Let's wait and see what happens tonight. I am not on the schedule" Alexander said, "So I can stay in with Ayla, but you are. That means you can see if they show up again. We will play it by ear until we feel more concrete about suspicions".

Ayla liked how she had two people helping her sort out the issue of those who were pursuing her; even more, she enjoyed basking openly in the sunrays while lying on the couch next to the hunk of a man protecting her.

"Agreed" she said, suddenly.

The two men had forgotten to ask her input before planning her safety.

She didn't mind that they had forgotten about her or her opinion.

It wasn't on purpose; they were just used to strategizing the two of them, so it was new to have a third person in to agree on it.

For once, she was able to enjoy the daylight just as much as she enjoyed the rays of the moon on her skin.

Ayla couldn't wait to see what the day held in store for her.

There was hope in her heart, but lust and potential love seemed to be blocking her need to keep herself safe.

It appeared that Ayla was no longer relying on herself for safety now that her head was clouded; she was relying on the two men before her to stay safe.

Was it possible that the Alpha's guards were potentially closing in on her?

Could they be the only ones, or were others closing in too?
