Chapter 36 - Goodbye Chaos, Hello Control (and Trouble)

Part 1

Li Cheng sat alone in the dimly lit System Room, the digital blue grid walls humming with fractured static. The last remnant of the "goddess interference"—that annoying glitchy whisper—echoed faintly through the space like a dying machine.

It was fading.

Finally.

[Warning: System Integrity at 62%. Unknown entity attempting—]

"No," Li Cheng said calmly. "We're shutting this down. All of it."

His voice didn't waver. Not today.

He raised his hand, and the System interface flickered, reshaping itself into a massive, shimmering command board. Lines of code twisted like neon vines.

[Override Privilege Required.]

Li Cheng smirked. "Then give it to me."

The System hesitated—yes, actually hesitated.

Which meant the goddess-like interference still had its claws inside.

Fine.

If this whole "cosmic link" was determined to haunt him, then he'd tear it out with his own hands.

"System," he said, voice low, "execute Protocol Devouring Rewrite."

The space shook.

[Warning! Protocol Devouring Rewrite is irreversible! This will erase all foreign influences—]

"That's the idea."

A bright vortex burst open, pulling in every glowing thread of foreign energy that had been plaguing him—mysterious golden runes, ghostly distortions, even Qin Ruo's faint emotional imprint. Everything.

The voices that once whispered in impossible languages grew distorted—

"—Ch—s—n—Bearer—listen—"

"—Our vessel—"

Li Cheng snapped his fingers.

Silence.

Just silence.

The vortex collapsed into a sphere of pure light, drifting into his palm. It pulsed — once, twice — then dissolved completely.

[System Interference: 0%.]

[Emotional Anomalies: Removed.]

[Host Authority Level Increased.]

[Host is now the True Administrator of the Daily Sign-In, Face-Slap the World! System.]

Li Cheng exhaled slowly. His shoulders relaxed for the first time in weeks.

No more cryptic visions.

No more cosmic goddesses.

No more destiny nonsense.

Just him.

"Good," he said, cracking his neck. "Let's get back to living."

The System now responded in a smooth, professional tone—no glitches, no divine echoes.

[Administrator Li Cheng, your control is absolute. All operations will now follow your will.]

"Finally," he muttered. "Back to normal."

Or… as normal as his life was ever going to be.

The virtual room dissolved, returning him to his bedroom—early morning sunlight spilling through the window. He stretched.

Today… he would return to school.

No battles.

No divine threats.

And definitely no glitches.

Just peaceful student life.

…Which lasted exactly four minutes.

Because the moment he stepped outside, the neighbors greeted him with a level of respect usually reserved for government officials.

"Good morning, Young Master Li!"

"Young Li! I heard you helped the dean with that problem last week—amazing!"

"Such a mature boy. Handsome too. Your parents raised you well!"

Li Cheng blinked.

"What… is happening?"

[Host Reputation Among Adults: +40.]

[Passive Aura: Leadership Presence has matured.]

"…Great," he muttered. "Now even aunties think I'm some saint."

As he walked deeper into the estate, more elderly neighbors waved. One even offered him freshly steamed buns "to keep your brilliant mind energized."

He accepted them politely while the System helpfully added:

[Host Popularity Among Elders: Rank B Achieved.]

[Reward: Respect Aura Lv.1.]

"A respect aura?" he groaned. "Seriously?!"

[Useful for establishing corporate authority.]

"Corporate? I'm still in school!"

[Incorrect. Administrator Li Cheng is ready for multi-sector enterprise operations.]

He massaged his temples.

Well… he'd deal with that later.

Right now, he had to survive school.

At School – Absolute Chaos

The moment Li Cheng stepped onto campus, a ripple went through the courtyard like someone dropped a stone into a lake.

"Li Cheng is here!"

"That's him—look!"

"Wow, he looks even better today…"

"Should we ask for a photo?"

"He's so cool…"

Li Cheng froze.

"Oh no. Not again."

But it was too late.

A group of girls from Class 2-3 ran up first.

"Good morning, Li Cheng!"

"You look extra handsome today!"

"I saved you a seat in the cafeteria—just saying!"

Li Cheng's eyebrow twitched.

He wasn't used to this level of aggressive friendliness.

[Charm Level: Increasing rapidly due to stabilized System.]

Which meant…

This was going to get worse.

And it did.

Because from the right side of the yard, swaggering like he owned the planet, came a tall, flashy-looking playboy with gelled hair, expensive cologne, and enough ego to fill a stadium.

Wang Jian — from the Department of Business Arts.

A man whose hobbies included wearing sunglasses indoors and calling himself "Campus Prince."

Today, he spotted Qin Ruo walking behind Li Cheng.

And that's where trouble began.

"Well, well," Wang Jian drawled loudly, stepping forward and blocking Li Cheng's path. "If it isn't the nobody who thinks he's somebody."

Li Cheng blinked.

"…Do I know you?"

Gasps exploded from the crowd.

Wang Jian's eye twitched. "Y-You— You dare talk to me like that?!"

"I mean seriously," Li Cheng said with genuine confusion. "Who are you? And why do your sunglasses reflect your insecurity so clearly?"

The crowd exploded.

"HAHAHAHA he said insecurity!""

Wang Jian got roasted!"

"Nicely done!"

Wang Jian nearly choked on his ego. "I—I didn't come to talk to you! I came to speak to Miss Qin Ruo."

He turned to her with a greasy smile.

"Qin Ruo, you're too beautiful to be seen with… low-ranking boys. Why don't you join me for lunch? I can show you some real sophistication."

Qin Ruo stared blankly. "…No."

Wang Jian forced a laugh. "You're joking, right? A girl like you—"

"I said no."

Then she stepped closer to Li Cheng—just enough for the crowd to gasp.

Wang Jian's face darkened.

"So that's it," he sneered. "You're choosing him? HIM? He's nothing."

Li Cheng sighed. He tried to walk away.

But Wang Jian grabbed his shoulder.

"You think you can walk away from ME? You humiliated me in front of the art department last month! Me! The princ—"

Li Cheng looked at his hand.

Then at Wang Jian.

"You have five seconds to remove your hand," Li Cheng said calmly.

The crowd went silent.

"Or?" Wang Jian scoffed.

"Or," Li Cheng replied, "I will make you question your career choices."

The playboy laughed too loudly. "Try me."

So Li Cheng tried.

He simply turned slightly, shifted his center of gravity, grabbed Wang Jian's wrist—

—and gently flipped him over.

Wang Jian face-planted so hard the ground cracked.

"U-Ughhh—!!"

No aura. No enhancement. Just pure technique.

The courtyard erupted like fireworks.

"Damn!!" "Holy— did you see that?!" "Li Cheng turned him into a pancake!" "Serve him right!"

Qin Ruo covered her mouth, shoulders shaking—not with shock but with barely contained laughter.

Wang Jian writhed. "Y-You… you attacked me…!!"

"No," Li Cheng said. "Gravity attacked you. I just encouraged it."

Students were screaming in laughter now.

Even some teachers watching from the windows struggled to hide smiles.

Li Cheng stepped back casually.

[Face-Slapping Achievement Complete.]

[Reward: Business Intuition Lv.1 + 20,000 yuan.]

Business Intuition?

Li Cheng blinked.

"System… what are you planning?"

[Administrator is now prepared to begin corporate operations.]

Li Cheng wasn't sure what was more insane—the fact that students cheered his comebackor that the System now wanted him to start a real company, and not like the Dorm company or the previous ones but a real company.

But one thing was certain.

His life would never be boring.

And it was about to get even more complicated.

Because as he turned to leave, Qin Ruo leaned in and whispered:

"You looked… cool."

Li Cheng froze.

Oh no.

Not again.

[Romantic Affection: +15.]

[Popularity Surge: +30.]

He braced himself—

—but nothing happened. No system glitch. No mysterious interference. Just… normal feelings.

Finally.

But trouble was already coming.

Because someone stood silently on the rooftop of the library, watching him.

A girl with long silver hair.

Smirking.

And planning something.

Part 2

Li Cheng barely made it five steps before Class Monitor Lin Xiaoyu ran up, waving her phone.

"Li Cheng! You're trending AGAIN!"

He groaned. "Oh come on—what now?"

Xiaoyu shoved her screen in his face.

#EpicWangJianFaceplant

#CampusPrinceDefeated

#LiChengTheSilentChad

Li Cheng covered his face. "I'm going to transfer schools at this rate."

"No you're not," Xiaoyu laughed. "This is great publicity!"

"For what? My downfall?"

"No—your FUTURE COMPANY, dummy!"

Li Cheng blinked. "You… knew?"

Xiaoyu puffed out her chest. "Of course! I read people. And you? You're definitely CEO material."

Li Cheng stared at her.

"…Since when?"

"Since always. You have the aura, the confidence, the face—"

"The face isn't a qualification."

"It is on social media!"

She wasn't wrong.

The System chimed:

[Entrepreneurial Pathline Activated.]

[Host is now eligible to open Company Tier 1.]

[Recommended Field: Tech-Enhanced Student Services.]

"What the hell is tech-enhanced stu—?"

A folder materialized in his mind.

A business blueprint.

A surprisingly smart one.

A new service that would combine:

AI tutoring

student scheduling

study mood tracking

personalized grade boosting strategies

campus assistant functions

Basically…

A digital academic companion for stressed students.

Xiaoyu peered at his expression. "Your face changed. The System giving you business ideas?"

"…Maybe."

Her grin grew. "Perfect. I'll be your secretary."

"You applied before I even said yes."

"That's how competent I am."

Li Cheng laughed despite himself.

The day was looking… normal again.

Until they reached Class 3-1.

Where the classroom erupted the moment he walked in.

"Morning CEO!" "Boss Li!" "Future rich man!" "Bro teach us how you flipped Wang Jian!" "Do it again! Do it again!"

"I'm not a street performer," Li Cheng muttered.

Qin Ruo walked in next, cool as ever—but the moment she saw Li Cheng, a faint pink dusted her cheeks before she quickly hid it behind a calm mask.

Which only made several boys glare.

"Damn it… he's stealing all the goddesses…"

"Why does he get all the luck?" "Even senior girls are talking about him!"

Li Cheng glanced sideways.

"System… how bad is the damage?"

[Host's charm level is now above school limits. All attention toward Host is unavoidable.]

"…So I'm a walking magnet now."

[Affirmative.]

Great.

Just great.

The next class was Economics.

Which was perfect—because Li Cheng needed to think about his future company.

Unfortunately…

The teacher, Mr. Han, spotted him and beamed.

"Ah! The prodigy student! Li Cheng, can you come up here and explain today's case study? We teachers are impressed by your performance yesterday!"

Li Cheng froze.

"What performance…?"

"Oh, your brilliant self-defense technique! It was spectacular!"

The whole class burst into laughter.

Li Cheng wanted to crawl into a hole.

Lunch Break – Disaster #2

Li Cheng headed toward the school garden, searching for peace.

He found none.

Because waiting there, under the big tree, was… her.

The silver-haired girl from earlier.

She stood elegantly, her uniform crisp, posture perfect, expression unreadable.

"Li Cheng," she said softly. "We need to talk."

Li Cheng stiffened. "…Who are you?"

She smiled faintly. "A friend. Perhaps more, someday."

"You—what?"

Her eyes glimmered deep silver. "I saw what you did today. Impressive. But you can do more."

Li Cheng frowned. "Look, if this is about joining a club—"

"No," she said. "It's about your company."

Li Cheng blinked. "My… what?"

"You're starting one soon, aren't you?" She tilted her head. "I can help."

"How do you even know—"

"That's my secret."

Before he could protest, she stepped closer—too close. Her perfume was light and icy, like winter mornings. Her eyes locked on his.

"Think about my offer."

Then she walked away.

Li Cheng stared after her, speechless.

"…System?"

[Analyzing…]

[Student Identity: Xu Shiyu.]

[IQ Level: 156.]

[Special Title: The Campus Ice Queen.]

[Motivation: Unknown.]

[Interest in Host: Rising.]

"Of course it's rising," Li Cheng muttered. "My life is a magnet for problems."

But before he could brood—

Someone tugged his sleeve.

It was Qin Ruo.

She stared at him, eyes narrowed slightly.

"…Who was she?"

Li Cheng swallowed."Just a… student."

Qin Ruo didn't reply.

But her aura turned cold enough to freeze water.

After School

Li Cheng walked home with Xiaoyu chattering beside him about logo designs for his future company.

Everything felt almost peaceful.

Almost… normal.

Until they reached the street outside his house.

And saw the black car parked in front.

A sleek, tinted, expensive sedan.

The door opened.

A tall man in a suit stepped out—clearly important.

"Li Cheng?" he asked.

Li Cheng nodded slowly. "Yes…?"

The man bowed slightly.

"We've been expecting you."

Li Cheng blinked."Expecting… me?"

"Yes," the man said, handing him a black envelope with a gold seal.

"Your presence is formally requested by the City Business Development Bureau."

Li Cheng froze.

"The government… wants to see me?"

"Yes," the man said with absolute seriousness. "Regarding your new company, Mr. Li Cheng."

Li Cheng nearly choked.

"I—I haven't even started the company yet—!"

"That," the man said, "is exactly why they want to speak with you."

The envelope glowed faintly in the sunset.

Inside it…

A single golden invitation card.

"Li Cheng," Xiaoyu whispered, eyes wide, "you're… already in the big leagues."

Li Cheng stared at the card in disbelief.

And the System chimed:

[New Main Plotline: City-Level CEO Route — ACTIVATED.]

[Difficulty: Extreme.]

[Reward: Unlimited Growth Potential.]

Li Cheng's heart pounded.

"That's… ridiculous."

[Welcome to your new life, Administrator.]

Li Cheng exhaled.

Goodbye gods.

Goodbye mysterious entities.

Hello…

real-world chaos.
