Chapter 19 - “Real World: Active Ruin Zone (5)”

Suddenly cued, the crowd looked at the ceiling, their shoes, someone's b*tt...anything but Leinster.

Leinster raised an eyebrow and was about to intimidate this group of bipedals when the woman with a bob-cut hair, apparently the "leader" of the survivors, slowly walked out of the group and bowed politely at Leinster.

"Let me answer your question, Lein— I mean Sir Challenger."

This was the first bipedal who dared to talk to him straight to his eyes and Leinster was immediately interested.

As an alien, Leinster couldn't discern whether the woman was beautiful or not, but by the standard of bipedal, she was definitely a beauty.

Although not very tall, the woman had quite a figure, clad in your usual office worker attire, making her look cold and professional despite her youthful baby face typical of Asians.

While everyone around her was oozing a thick scent of "fear", "distrust", and so many other negative emotions, this woman emitted a strong emotion of...

Curiosity.

And hope.

Leinster's non-existent antennas immediately twitched at this familiar refreshing emotion he had felt among his cute viewers.

"Hum. You tell me." Leinster kept his cool but secretly tried to gather the refreshing emotion, only to be met with the same warning.

[Insufficient emotion! Can't collect! (´;ω;`)]

Gahhh! You fraud bastard!!

Unaware that a certain alien was itching to steal her emotion, the woman quickly explained rapidly, as if she was in a rap competition.

"The ruin just now is blocked because Sir Challenger has not chosen what to do with the ruin."

The woman's answer hit the mark.

"Ah, you're right~ How did you know?"

"That...it happens often with new challengers every time the league starts..."

League?

Ah, the thing he heard right before he entered the "ruin".

So the "ruin" had something to do with this league and the league happened often?

This world is becoming more and more interesting...

Leinster pretended as if he already understood and just smiled calmly, acting like a sage.

Seeing Leinster's meaningful smile, the woman misunderstood.

Is this criminal merely teasing her and the survivors?

He must have known about the ruin all this time.

The woman looked visibly disappointed but she quickly straightened her back and spoke cautiously,

"That...if you haven't made your choice, I suggest you choose to retain the Ruin."

Leinster was just about to ask about the three options when the woman handed his answer on a silver platter!

The alien was immediately happy to comply.

"Oh? And why do I have to do that? What's the benefit for me?"

Leinster crossed his arms and raised his chin, looking like a haughty villain.

Every emo alien was indeed born to be a villain.

The woman immediately listed various benefits, clearly trying to persuade him.

"The ruin will become a safe zone and you can also get all the resources inside...it is super valuable!"

Leinster almost rolled his eyes.

What resources could there be inside that tiny room?

The cute monsters? Meh.

But Leinster was also curious about what would happen to the ruin he had cleared if he chose to retain it.

Just when Leinster was opening the previous three options and was about to choose the first option...

A commotion broke from the other end of the corridor, the opposite direction of the plant monster's current place.

"Over here. There is another ruin that has just been cleared!"

A deep voice of a man echoed throughout the corridor, followed by rapid sounds of footsteps.

The survivors and the viewers immediately looked at the other end of the corridor, where a group of new survivors ran with all of their might.

Behind the group, a huge metal box was chasing after them relentlessly, thumping and looming over the group like a giant titan in a certain anime.

The fifteen survivors in Leinster's "group" instantly turned pale at the sight of the strange metal box monster.

"A-ahh! Another monster ran out of a collapsed ruin!"

The fifteen survivors stirred and they immediately looked at Leinster with red eyes.

"S-sir! Sir! Quick! Open the ruin!"

Leinster immediately chose the B option, "retained the ruin", and the system gave him a friendly notification.

DING! [Congratulations for obtaining Monster Office Ruin copy 99!]

[You're the master of the ruin! You can decide who can enter your ruin and who cannot.]

[Ruin Safe Zone's occupancy: 0/20]

Following the notice, everyone saw that the barrier blocking the ruin disappeared, but they knew that they couldn't enter just yet.

The survivors immediately crowded around Leinster, each begging with tears and snot on their faces.

"Sir! Kind sir! Please, let me in!"

"M-me, sir! Me!"

Gone was their fear of Leinster's identity as a heinous criminal.

If they could enter the safe zone, even if it was just a tiny one, a temporary safe zone, they could even call Leinster "master", "your majesty", you name it.

Seeing the crowds' enthusiasm, the young man broke into a sweet smile and his non-existent fox tail wagged all the way to the sky.

"Oho, you want to enter my ruin? Sure, sure! You know, I..."
