Chapter 6 – Two Days Later
The hospital called it a miracle.
He'd been gone for forty-eight hours.Brain dead. Flatline.
Then, on the morning of the second day, he sat up in the morgue bag and asked for water.
Tanya fainted.His mom screamed.His dad cried — actually cried — for the first time in years.
The doctors ran every test known to man.No organ failure. No heart issue. Every scan perfect.
"Your son is healthy," one of them said, shaking his head."I don't understand how, but he's… better."
Better.
Tim didn't tell them about the voice in his head.Didn't tell them he could still see the colors — the disease mist — around everyone.
When he touched his mother's hand, the faint black swirl around her wrist vanished, and she blinked like a headache had disappeared.

He stared at nothing, breathing slow, feeling energy ripple through his veins like lightning hiding under skin.
Later that night, when he stood outside the hospital, wind in his hair, he whispered to the sky,
"Guess I got my own superpower now, huh, Ultra Buff?"
And for the first time since he got sick — maybe the first time in his whole life — he felt unstoppable.
But far above him, orbiting Earth in the Weg observation ring, something stirred.
A red light blinked.
And a robotic voice said,
"Subject Wren has awakened."
