A low humming sound was a soothing melody for sleeping

But occasional breaks were distrubing

which was actually very annoying, even though Adam was asleep, his face showed this subconsciously.

and it turned off abruptly, making a surprisingly loud switching off noise.
Which was just enough to wake him up and annoy him, now consciously being annoyed
"hmmmmmm now what..." he slowly and angry opened his eyes
Laying in a cheap hospital bed, covered in bandages and really, really sore.
next to his bed was all his stuff, except the armor and the sword which again, magically disappeared. And next to that, a nurse bell.
*ding ding* and a few moments later, some woman who clearly had no time to talk or care for it came in.
"Yes??"
"Yea, where am I?" still waking up and trying to get up into upright position
"New Dawn Hospital, you were brought in yesterday IN A MINUTE!!!" she shouted to the corridor
"...ummmm....When can I leave? "
"Don`t know, don`t care. Anything IMPORTANT you have to ask? note for the doctor?"
"no, not really. thanks"
*door slams*
after that Adam slammed back into the bed and slept for another 2 hours.
Finally after that he got the strength to leave the bed and get dressed into something better than a millimeter thick piece of hospital fabric.
On the look for the cafeteria, he saw why the nurse was so annoyed.
People everywhere.
Beds in the corridor, waiting chairs filled with injured.
Nurses, doctors and whoever else could wear a white gown was running around the place
'Hm. busy day' as Adam strolled around, looking at renamed rooms from "Infection diseases" or "Rheumathology", to more useful things like "First aid hall 3", "Injured room 27".
When he got through a also cluttered staircase, because of course the lift is busy, the lunch room was....also busy.
Wait in line, get the food trace, get "food" slammed onto it, get pushed away and find any free space.
At the table he had somewhat space with 3 other people, but well they were in a pretty bad shape and barely awake.
After getting something to stuff into his face and waking up properly, time to check the system.
Status tab had something actually interesting for a change.
Quests changed for the first time in a while.
Apart from training and gate quotas, there was a third one.

And well of course he looked at it.

Trying to understand that while also trying to "enjoy" the hospital chew is a bit hard.
But the gist of it was understood

Now that would be normal for normal soldier or promotion.

But here, with monsters and soldiers dying on the front lines? Surrender??

Threw the trace away, and still with the window open he walked through the hospital and bumping into everything he could.

"Excuse me, what do you need sir?!" quite annoyed but different nurse at the reception asked him.
"Oh sorry" he didn`t even realize he`s there already "umm I want to get out"
"Yes yes yes, Did the doctor let you?"
"what doctor?"
"....sir this is a hospital. That`s where doctors work, and by the looks of you, one of them treated you"
"Yea well I just woke up here, only a nurse came by for a second"
"..Okey, name please"
"Adam XXXXXXXX"
"...." *loud computer loading sounds* "sorry the system is kind of slow"
"....."
"...Ah I see " *enter slam* you`re free to go"
Honestyl dumbfounded Adam starred at her for a second.
And just left.
