Chapter 89 - Chapter 89: Accomplice Draco

Charlie replied to Ron and the others very quickly.

He told Ron to bring the Norwegian Ridgeback to the tallest tower at Hogwarts at midnight on the Saturday two weeks from now.

Charlie and his friends would fly over on broomsticks and take the dragon away under the cover of darkness.

One morning shortly after that, Hagrid sent a note to Kyle and the others via owl.

It contained only four words: It's hatching soon.

After their Herbology class, the five of them went straight to Hagrid's hut, ready to witness the entire process of the dragon hatching.

However, the appearance of the newborn dragon was vastly different from what Kyle had expected.

He wasn't asking for Deathwing Neltharion, but shouldn't it at least look a little bit like Smaug?

Otherwise, going for the cute route like Toothless would have been fine too!

What was with this iguana-with-wings look?

It looked just like a crumpled black umbrella. Its spiny wings seemed exceptionally large compared to its skinny, jet-black body.

It also had a long, large snout with wide white nostrils, stubby horn bumps on its head, and bulging orange eyes.

Kyle stared blankly at the winged lizard in front of him.

He suddenly didn't want to raise a dragon anymore.

The whole dragon farm business could screw off as far as possible. Wouldn't it be better to spend this money on other magical creatures?

"Isn't he beautiful?" Hagrid murmured. He reached out a hand and stroked the little dragon's head.

The little dragon snapped its jaws at his fingers, revealing pointed fangs.

"Bless him, look, he knows his mummy!" Hagrid said.

Kyle: ???

Are you sure it's not attacking you out of its violent nature?

It was only because Hagrid was a half-giant with thick, rough skin, and the newborn dragon didn't have much strength yet to break his defense, that Hagrid could interpret the dragon's attack as an act of affection.

If it had been Harry or Ron taking that bite, it wouldn't have been any different from having their fingers clamped by a giant crab.

Harry, Ron, and the others looked quite helpless as well.

"I've decided to call him Norbert," said Hagrid, looking at the dragon with misty eyes. Suddenly, his face went completely white. He leaped up and rushed to the window.

Kyle saw a boy outside running back toward the school.

Harry immediately scrambled to the door and looked out.

But faster than him was Kyle. Having activated the lightning stimulation of his cells to revitalize his body, he flew out of Hagrid's hut like a gale and quickly caught up with the panic-stricken boy who was fleeing.

Kyle took him down in an instant. It was only then that he saw the boy's face clearly.

"Draco?"

Kyle pondered how to handle this situation. He couldn't exactly kill him to silence him.

In his opinion, Draco was just a spoiled brat. Originally, Draco had wanted to be friends with Harry.

However, because his method of expression was too clumsy, the two failed to become friends and instead turned into enemies.

It was a bit like the love-hate saga between Naruto and Sasuke.

Kyle felt that Draco wasn't beyond saving.

Now, a chance for salvation lay right before Draco. As long as Kyle could control Draco's big mouth, this matter should be resolved perfectly.

Besides, given the allure dragons held for wizards, Kyle didn't believe Draco would actually go and snitch.

If Draco really did go to inform on them, as a Slytherin, his most likely course of action would be to find Snape.

Given Kyle's relationship with Snape, it would be hard to say who would actually be in trouble then.

Draco stared nervously at Kyle, whose expression was unkind, his mind racing.

The psychological shadow Kyle had left on him previously in Diagon Alley and on the Hogwarts Express was far too heavy, causing him to be utterly terrified of Kyle now.

"Forget it, you come with me."

Hearing that Kyle's tone was relatively calm, Draco breathed a sigh of relief.

He climbed up from the ground, his back unknowingly soaked with cold sweat.

When Kyle brought Draco back to Hagrid's hut, Ron and Harry instantly bristled.

Because the two of them had never gotten along with Draco.

"How could you bring him back!" Ron sprang up from his chair.

Harry's reaction was just as intense as Ron's.

Hannah and Hermione, however, didn't say anything. The two of them had no grudge against Draco; on the contrary, they felt Draco was quite pitiful.

The only conflict they had with Draco was previously on the Hogwarts Express.

But that was Kyle's fault, and that time Kyle had even pressed Draco's face into a pile of vomit.

Kyle spread his hands. "He saw everything. Otherwise, what did you want to do? Kill him to keep him quiet?"

Draco was silent for a moment, then he suddenly looked up at Hagrid. "I won't tell anyone."

"What?" Hagrid was somewhat incredulous.

Hagrid didn't know Draco personally, but he knew Draco's father, Lucius Malfoy.

That was a notorious former Death Eater whom Hagrid disliked intensely.

"I like dragons very much," Draco explained.

Being stared at by so many people, he was a little nervous and stuttered slightly.

"My name," Draco pointed to himself, "D-R-A-C-O, means dragon in Latin."

Once Draco said this, everyone understood.

"Hmph, what kind of reason is that," Ron sneered.

Draco turned his head to stare coldly at Ron. "What, you have a problem with that?"

Seeing that the two were about to start fighting again, Kyle coughed lightly, and Draco immediately shut his mouth.

It was Ron who was relentless and wanted to continue provoking him. "That's right, I..."

His words were cut off by Hermione in a louder voice. "Ron! Shut up!"

"Hermione, are you crazy?" Ron looked at the Little Beaver in disbelief, shocked that she was speaking up for Draco.

The Little Beaver glared back, unwilling to show weakness. "As long as we let Draco take care of Norbert with us, he becomes an accomplice. He can't go and tell on us then! Do you want Hagrid to go to Azkaban?"

Harry, Ron, and Draco were instantly choked into silence.

Accomplice...

That was something they hadn't considered.

Kyle leaned against the doorframe. "Draco, next week we will be sending the dragon away."

"How can you do that!" Draco, who was teasing Norbert, spun around abruptly.

"We can't raise a fire dragon inside Hogwarts without others finding out."

Draco's face immediately turned from sunny to overcast.

"We will send it to a dragon reserve in Romania. If you really want a dragon, you can inject capital into the dragon reserve and become a shareholder..."

Hearing Kyle's words, Draco's expression immediately turned sunny again.

With the Malfoy family's wealth, let alone becoming a shareholder of a dragon reserve, buying the entire reserve wouldn't be a major problem.

So, he could own a fire dragon?

Draco could hardly suppress the ecstasy in his heart, allowing an obsessed grin to float onto his face.

The rest of the time was quite pleasant.

Because of his love for dragons, Draco was extremely knowledgeable about the creatures, and he chatted happily with Hagrid, a senior enthusiast of magical beasts.

Ron and Harry on the side were a bit depressed; they couldn't get a word in at all, nor did they want to talk to Draco.

Hermione and Hannah, on the other hand, listened with great interest.

Kyle leaned against the wooden door, his mind continuing to wander.

For a while, the atmosphere in the room was actually quite harmonious.
