"What are you doing!" the little blonde girl cried out in pain.
Kyle didn't pay her any mind; instead, he bowed to the cat on the podium. "Good afternoon, Professor McGonagall."
Hannah's rosy cheeks instantly turned pale.
The tabby cat leapt down from the podium, transforming back into the stern-faced Professor McGonagall in mid-air. "Good afternoon, Kyle."
Professor McGonagall glared at the pale-faced Hannah. "Miss Abbott, return to your seat."
Kyle sat down in the first row of the classroom. Weakly, Hannah tugged at Kyle's robes, wanting to slip away to the back row.
However, in the end, the temptation of sitting next to Kyle triumphed over her fear of Professor McGonagall.
Hannah sat down beside Kyle with a well-behaved expression, as if the person who had just extended their grabby hands toward Professor McGonagall wasn't her.
Before the class bell rang, the students arrived one after another. The classroom was distinctly divided into two areas according to their houses.
"Transfiguration is some of the most complex and dangerous magic you will learn at Hogwarts," Professor McGonagall's voice rang out in the classroom.
She sternly warned the little wizards below the podium, "Anyone messing around in my class will leave and not come back. You have been warned."
While saying this, Professor McGonagall's sharp gaze remained fixed tightly on Hannah next to Kyle, scaring Hannah into trembling.
Professor McGonagall took out her wand as she spoke. While demonstrating profound Transfiguration magic to the young wizards, she explained the precautions for casting Transfiguration spells.
"Incomplete Transfiguration is usually accompanied by terrible consequences."
She cited examples of Quintapeds and Siren banshees; those magical creatures were the products of wizards failing to perform human transfiguration on themselves.
However, judging by the shocked looks on the young wizards' faces as they stared at the podium—which had been turned into various animals—it wasn't clear if they had actually listened to Professor McGonagall's words.
"Remember, Transfiguration cannot create food. Wizards cannot conjure fine dishes out of thin air, nor can they turn other things into food."
"Suppose you turned a piece of wood into a piece of bread and then ate it."
"After the magic of the Transfiguration spell fades, the bread absorbed by your body will turn back into wood splinters appearing throughout your body. You would die in an extremely miserable way."
Scanning the crowd of young wizards below, Professor McGonagall cleared her throat.
"The food you enjoy in the Great Hall is not conjured out of thin air. It is prepared by the castle's House-elves and then transported to the tables via magic."
After warning the young wizards about the dangers of Transfiguration magic, Professor McGonagall nodded with satisfaction. She distributed a match to every student's hand.
"For the first Transfiguration lesson, we will attempt to turn the matches in your hands into needles."
This task posed absolutely no difficulty for Kyle, who had inherited Dumbledore's talent in Transfiguration, not to mention he had already learned this over six months ago.
Saving even the process of incantation, Kyle waved his wand casually, and the match instantly turned into a glittering silver needle.
"Beautiful silent Transfiguration. Five points to Hufflepuff." Professor McGonagall awarded points to Kyle with a calm face.
Hannah picked up the completed silver needle in amazement. "How did you do that! Silent casting!"
"It's easy if you have hands," Kyle answered casually.
Hannah wanted to hit him upon hearing that.
Seeing Hannah clench her fist, Kyle instantly put away his teasing thoughts and earnestly began teaching Hannah the techniques of Transfiguration magic.
"Before using a Transfiguration spell, first clearly picture in your mind what you want the object to turn into. Then clearly chant the incantation, and wave your wand firmly and decisively."
"Do not wiggle or twirl the wand unnecessarily, or the Transfiguration will certainly fail."
Over on the Gryffindor side, the little academic beaver also pricked up her ears, listening seriously to the essentials of Transfiguration that Kyle was explaining.
After listening to Kyle's explanation, Hannah picked up her wand, held her breath, and stared at the match with extreme focus.
Firm and decisive!
Because she gripped the wand with excessive force, veins popped out on Hannah's forehead, and surging magical power rose around her.
Finally, she waved her wand.
Bang!
"Professor McGonagall, we need a new match here!"
Kyle raised his hand to signal Professor McGonagall, then conjured a ball of clear water to wash the black soot off his and Hannah's faces.
For the rest of the class, among the other young wizards in the room, only Hermione managed to complete the operation of turning the match into a silver needle, winning five points for Gryffindor.
The first class in the afternoon was Charms with Professor Flitwick.
First-year Charms didn't actually teach many spells. The entire Standard Book of Spells, Grade 1 only recorded about a dozen low-level spells of similar difficulty to the Wand-Lighting Charm.
Before the young wizards officially started learning their first spell, they had to master wand movements and other casting techniques, such as pronouncing the spell syllables.
They wouldn't start learning the first spell until roughly October.
So first-year Charms was of little use to Kyle, who was very proficient in silent casting and wandless hand-seal casting.
Therefore, while others were practicing casting gestures in class, Kyle was flipping through other magic books he had brought back from France.
Professor Flitwick knew about Kyle's situation and didn't say anything about it.
As long as Kyle didn't skip class or cause trouble, that was enough; Professor Flitwick's requirements for the leader of the "Father-Worriers Alliance" were just that low.
Regarding Kyle's education, the professors at Hogwarts who knew about Kyle's background all had a consensus—
Let Dumbledore get a headache over the Grindelwald brat himself.
The little lions and badgers coming out of the Charms class went straight to the greenhouses outside the castle; their next class was Herbology.
Hogwarts' Herbology teacher was Pomona Sprout, who was also the Head of Hufflepuff House.
Compared to the strange staff in the school—an older cat-lady, a half-blood goblin, a bat spirit, and a half-giant—the dumpy Professor Sprout was probably the most amiable-looking professor at Hogwarts.
Because she always stayed in the greenhouses tending to those magical flowers and plants, she was often covered in dirt, her flyaway gray hair covered by a patched, thick hat.
This down-to-earth attire looked particularly affectionate in the eyes of a transmigrator from the Farming Empire.
"Our teaching content for this school year will take place in Greenhouse One," Professor Sprout said gently, standing at the greenhouse entrance.
"Compared to the other greenhouses, the magical plants in Greenhouse One are relatively less dangerous. However, that does not mean danger does not exist. I hope everyone will obediently follow my commands after entering the greenhouse to avoid accidents."
The students whispered with interest and followed Professor Sprout into the greenhouse.
Kyle was also very interested in these magical plants.
Previously, he had only come into contact with animals. But those oddly shaped magical animals, such as the Murtlap with sea anemone-like growths on its back, or the Grindylow that looked like a water monkey...
Those didn't look edible; even Bear Grylls probably couldn't stomach them.
As for those with high danger levels, such as fire dragons, he actually wanted to taste what dragon meat was like.
But with his current strength, the most likely outcome would be letting the dragon taste what human meat was like.
Compared to those messy magical beasts, the magical plants before his eyes should be the easiest to start with.
He wondered, are these plants edible? How do you eat them? Do they taste good? How does the flavor compare to Muggle vegetables?
Kyle's gaze gradually turned fervent.
