"Alright, alright I can see that you came here for normal purposes." Rachel agreed. "But that still does not explain how you started living right next to the house my dad had currently bought for staying in Manhattan for business." Rachel protested a bit and looked at Silva in suspicion.
Silva sighed.
"The house I am living in is a gift I got from a senior of mine. He gave it to me as a gift so that I can stay in the city and complete my education. For the house to be exactly next to yours can only be explained as a cosmic joke" Silva finished but it only increased Rachel's curiosity.
"Why do you think it's a cosmic joke instead of a coincidence" Rachel slightly narrowed her eyes. "What are you not telling me right now"
"Somethings that better left unsaid" Silva calmly replied "Its better you don't know about it now"
Rachel realised that Silva will not reveal any other information about the subject. Even though he had replied calmly, the way he did made Rachel realise his intentions.
"Okay Mr serious. At least tell me whether I am in danger or not" Rachel asked.
"Not unless you jump into danger yourself" Silva replied as he knew just like how Luke had protection from being killed by him, Rachel must also have a similar kind of protection from being killed due to being the future oracle. So, he was sure as long as she was careful. She will survive easily.
Rachel just sat there for a few more minutes thinking about everything that Silva had told her currently. But seeing that the break was about to be over, she decided to go back to class.
"Alright, I'll be leaving for now, but we are continuing this conversation later" Rachel said to which Silva nodded.
The classes after that were alright for Silva. The people were still avoiding him, and whispers had actually increased by a lot. And the only thing that didn't freak Silva out was that there were no malicious rumours yet. Though a few of the girls comments made him have flashbacks of the time when he was running away from the Aphrodite cabin demigods when he was young.
The subject teachers made sure to ask Silva one or two questions. they were already informed about his intelligence, so they only asked him challenging questions that the other students cannot answer. This created a realisation in the student body that the new transfer student was a genius in studies.
Then came the PE period. Which was interesting as at that moment, Silva forgot that he was dealing with mortals and not demigods. So, when Dodgeball started, he knocked down two students who ended up with bleeding noses before Silva realised what he had done.
Thankfully his instincts had worked for him as he had targeted the strongest students who were members of the football team. They had enough sportsman spirit that they actually laughed out loud and invited Silva to join the team. But Silva manged to convince them that he will think about it later.
And that added to another rumour saying that the transfer student had monstrous athletic abilities even though he looked skinny on the outside with his t shirt that extended to his wrists.
And during the lunch break, something even more funny happened.
"Hello...are…are you Silva" a girl wearing a cheerleading headband called out to Silva who was eating lunch.
"Yes?" Silva replied by turning his head back. His face had the same expression it always had which looked like complete indifference to most observers. It can only be decrypted by people who have known him for years. And to the teenage girl who had never met him, it looked like she was being stared at by a predator.
"Umm.... I'm sorry" the girl muttered in a scared voice and ran away; she had a few tears near the corner of her eyes her eyes.
The cafeteria became completely silent as they watched the spectacle happen. Silva slowly went back to swallowing the sandwich he had in his hand like nothing happened. Thought it only looked like that to others, but inside his mind, something entirely different was happening.
'what the hell mannn, why the hell did she run away. I'm pretty sure I am holding in my killing intent. Or is it not enough…. Do I have to train to be with mortals...….should I call Chiron?..... or Apollo. Okay that is more than stupid….but he might know social skills…..'
Silva was having spiralling thoughts in his mind, not realising that the looks he inherited from Artemis actually made him look better than most male models out there, that combined with his expression had the ability to break the hearts of countless woman whether he consciously wants to do it or not. The Aphrodite cabin knew about it ever since he was a kid and that's why he was hunted by them all the time he was a child.
He was lucky he was good at running away in the forests.
As he was spiralling through his thoughts, Rachel sat down opposite to the same cafeteria table he was sitting on.
"Gods, did you just scare off the hottest cheerleader in school without any problem" Rachel asked which broke Silva out of his own thoughts.
"I didn't do anything. I just answered her question, and she ran away" Silva dryly replied.
Rachel raised her eyebrow as she realised Silva was not a sociable person. She thought his attitude towards her was because of her abilities. But now it seems like it was because of how he normally is when interacting with others.
"Did you not feel anything at all when you saw that girl, or do you have something against muggles or something" Rachel joked which confused Silva.
"There's nothing like that; we don't have any prejudice against normal humans. And about the girl being cute.." Silva paused slightly as he thought back. "There were daughters of Aphrodite back in camp. So, I got a bit used to seeing beautiful girls"
"So, you are so used to these supposed beautiful girls of the goddess of love that you have no problem interacting with other hot girls" Rachel asked and she sounded slightly impressed.
"Yes, I am talking to you without any problems right" Silva calmly replied and went back to his sandwich. Not realising that Rachel was blushing when she heard his answer.
A/N- hope you like it.
