Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: The The Iron Behemoth?

As Arg was investigating the abnormality...

BOOM!

"Woah, that thing is pretty powerful..." Arg whispered to himself as the shock wave tore everything around it.

"What the! What is that thing?!" He whispered to himself in horror. From the centre of the shockwave, a huge metalic figure was surfacing. It was not something he had ever seen.

Thump! Thump!

The whole forest rumbled as it tried to get out of the ground.

It's eyes looked around, when it spotted him, it's movements got a bit faster. Its gaze sent a chill down Arg's spine.

'I~ I can't run from that thing?!' Arg thought, panicking.

He clutched his sword, looking at it, trying to see what it can do. From the small narrow gaps, steam and smoke gushed out. The sound of metal hitting metal reverberating. At the forehead of the monster, there a red crystal which was glowing quite brightly.

The whole sky turned dark and cloudy. It started to pour down heavy, seemingly cooling the Iron Behemoth.

Arg prepared for the fight. The rain pouring down making him feel heavier.

He ran towards it, looking for any weak point he could exploit.

A sharp hum tore through the air, so powerful that Arg's teeth rattled. The ground beneath him cracked, spiderwebs of fractures expanding in every direction.

Arg shook his head rapidly, activating his phase state.

"Tch, damn thing's using sound to disorient its enemies?" Arg muttered, darting away as another shockwave rippled past him, snapping branches like twigs.

The pulses it made was rythmic. Meaning Arg could predict when the next shockwave would appear.

The Behemoth turned, its chest vibrating, preparing a resonance blast.

"Too slow."

Arg thrust his sword forward, lightning screaming down its edge. His energy burst out in perfect sync with the creature's shockwave attack.

BOOOM!

The attacks canceled eachother out in a powerful shockwave, with Arg phasing through it, not being affected.

He jumped, slicing across its forehead. With a powerful stab, Arg cracked the crystal on its forehead.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

Arg was sent flying, not being in his phase state.

The Behemoth let out a metallic roar, its whole body convulsing. Its once silver hide now glowed orange-red, metal melting, repairing itself from the blastwave's damage. Steam erupted from every crevice. The rain hissed on its armor, turning to vapor instantly.

"What the actual fuck?!"

Its metalic armor had magma dripping all around. The sound of water turning into vapor constantly making him scared. Touching it can be a real game ender.

It slammed a fist into the ground. A surge of heat erupted outward, turning mud into boiling sludge.

Arg leaped back, barely avoiding a burst of lava. "So that crystal… it's its core."

Every strike he landed only caused the molten metal to liquefy and flow back into place. It regenerated endlessly. He could feel his energy draining faster than ever, the heat making the air hard to breathe.

He extended his hand. Moisture in the air gathered instantly, swirling into streams of water. The rain thickened around him, drawn by his will. Lightning flared through the downpour as he condensed the storm above the Behemoth's head.

The rain turned to spears of ice under his control, pelting the molten body and cooling the outer shell just enough for cracks to appear. He dashed forward once again, avoiding the molten metal thrown at him.

He infused water onto his wooden sandals, and had started to run up. The water turning into a powerful gust of vapor, not letting him touch the hot metalic surface of the beast.

Arg, whenever a blob of molten metal was sent at him, he phased through it, or dodged it.

As he finally made it atop of its forehead, he stabbed the fractured crystal once again.

DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
