Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: About to Depart

Chapter 11: About to Depart

By noon on the fifth day, Leo had already hired two errand runners. His underling gave him the quote—everything he bought cost fifty million Jenny.

He frowned at the number. Was the currency of this world just waste paper? But then he remembered earning a hundred million Jenny as the Sky Arena champion and realized he didn't care.

He paid the deposit and told them to deliver everything to his private room. Once it arrived, he'd hand over the remaining balance.

That afternoon, Leo spent another ten million Jenny on an off-road vehicle and express registration. With money, even the system bent.

He didn't need to attend driving school—someone just took his photo, gave him a brief lesson, and by evening, he was already driving freely.

The next morning, after paying the remaining forty-five million Jenny, Leo sealed all his purchases into his magic book. Then he went for a drive. When he passed by a racecourse, he slowed down and thought for a moment.

In another world, riding horses might have been useful. But a motorcycle? That was far better. With fuel, it could hit a hundred kilometers in five seconds. What horse could match that?

Still, motorcycles only worked on smooth roads. If he wanted to move fast in forests, a wolf or deer would be better. So Leo decided his new goal in this world was to capture the fastest creature he could find, get the fastest car and motorcycle, and stockpile enough gasoline to last.

He planned to hunt fast creatures himself but told his underlings to handle the vehicles. Their daily pay of one hundred thousand Jenny wasn't for fun.

Since he had no identity papers, everything was bought under their names. He just paid, sealed the vehicles into his book, and they became illustrations on its pages.

The two underlings were stunned. One of them whispered, "Is he... a Hunter?"

Leo ignored him. They were just in it for the money. Together, the cars and bikes cost ten million Jenny—enough to make them consider running off with them.

After sealing the cars, Leo handed each man three hundred thousand Jenny and sent them away.

By then, he had spent eighty million Jenny in total. Buying the car took four hours, while the motorcycle deal wrapped up in half an hour.

By the evening of the sixth day, Leo feasted in the presidential suite and went to bed satisfied.

The seventh morning came, and it was time to execute his plan. Leo drove near the Hunter Headquarters, circling around until he found a narrow alley. After inspecting it carefully, he headed for the Misty Forest.

Before reaching it, he spotted a full fuel tanker parked by the road. Without hesitation, he paid ten million Jenny and sealed both the truck and its contents into his book.

It was perfect insurance in case another world lacked fuel. When he reached the forest's edge, Leo opened his Magic Book and used a Spatial Gate, linking it to the alley beside Hunter Headquarters.

He stepped through the gate and appeared in the alley. Without dispelling the magic, he pulled out a phone that contained a prewritten message. Wrapping it in his aura, he hurled it toward the main entrance of the headquarters.

The instant he released the phone, he stepped back through the gate, returning to the Misty Forest.

What happened afterward wasn't his concern.

At the headquarters entrance, the phone crashed into the ground, blasting a one-meter-wide crater. The guards rushed out. Their captain picked up the phone, saw it contained information about a type of ant, and frowned. At first, he thought it was a prank. But then he noticed the note—it was a creature from the Dark Continent.

The captain's pupils contracted sharply. The Dark Continent! He immediately reported it up the chain of command.

Eventually, the report reached Hunter Association President Netero. When he read the contents, he was stunned. Was this a prophecy? The message said the species came from the Dark Continent and was now in NGL.

It even mocked that NGL, being a land without machines, was the perfect breeding ground for Chimera Ants—a paradise in the making.

At the end, it warned repeatedly—never send weak hunters. The weak carried aura, and if the ants devoured them, they would awaken Nen.

Even then, Leo thought, they probably still wouldn't send anyone strong enough.

But what Leo wanted to say was this—the Chimera Ant King, born from the combined power of the entire ant colony, would one day possess strength to rival even Netero, the strongest man in the world. Of course, that was for now.

Two years later, even the strongest alive would not be able to kill him. Only the biological weapon, Black Rose, detonating within one hundred meters, could release enough toxin to bring down the Ant King.

Any farther, and he would sense danger and flee. These were events that would occur in about one or two years in NGL, though no one could know the exact time. Believe it or not, Leo's message ended with a note—he was but a passerby of the human world.

After reaching the Misty Forest, Leo began following the notes from a street stall book, searching for rare plants and delicious beasts. He didn't forget his main goal—a fast mount.

When facing jungle creatures, he preferred using Ice Spikes. If one wasn't enough, he cast two. If two failed, then three. And if three couldn't bring the creature down, he used Chain Magic.

He froze the tastiest beasts into ice, gathered them together, and sealed them into the book's pages. It was a good method, though it consumed pages quickly. For now, he still had enough. Spatial Sealing Magic was unnecessary for the moment—it relied on aura, while his attacks used mana. So aura would serve as support for now.

After three days and two nights of searching, Leo finally found what he was looking for—a massive black wolf, the leader of its pack, faster than anything he had seen before. The moment he saw it, excitement surged within him. He had finally found his mount.

Its fur was dark as ink, shining with a faint mysterious glow. Under sunlight, its black coat shimmered like starlight scattered across the night sky. As the wind brushed past, its fur rippled like flowing ink, beautiful and awe-inspiring.

Wolves were pack creatures—large-scale attacks were best. But Leo didn't want them to scatter, so he acted carefully.

The Magic Book floated into the air, and countless chains shot down from above. As the wolves tried to flee, a cage five hundred meters wide formed around them. Leo grinned. "Sorry, Doflamingo, borrowing your move again."

He chuckled, amused at himself. But then he caught the tone—it even sounded like Doflamingo's laugh. "No, no, this is a fight," he muttered. "I should laugh in my own voice—laugh with power."

"Ha! Ha! Ha!" he burst out, imitating Zeng Xiaoxian's ridiculous laugh instead.

The wolves only stared at him with fierce eyes, making him look like an idiot. His smile faded, slightly annoyed.

He channeled his mana and formed an Ice Dome around himself. The wolves attacked again and again, their claws scratching the surface, but none could break through the frozen barrier. Their howls echoed through the silent Misty Forest.

The chain cage began tightening, shrinking slowly, smaller and smaller, until only fifty meters remained. The wolves were pressed together, their space gone. Leo released his Ice Dome and, as the wolves leapt toward him, unleashed a wide-range Ice Blast.

The massive spell drained half his mana, freezing the entire pack into sculptures of ice. Walking among them, he searched carefully until he found the glossy black alpha wolf.

He bound it with chains, thawed its body, and faced its defiant glare. It wasn't afraid in the slightest. Leo smirked and sealed it into his book.

When he released it again, the wolf was completely obedient. It let him ride without resistance, even wagging its tongue like a husky. Yet its eyes lingered on the frozen pack, letting out soft, mournful whimpers.

Leo watched quietly. It seemed the wolf retained its memories even after sealing—but it was under his full control now. Not bad, he thought.

Seeing its pitiful expression, Leo waved his hand, dispelling the ice from the surrounding wolves. They howled and snarled, but when the black wolf roared once, the entire pack fell silent and withdrew into the forest.

"That's enough," Leo murmured. "Nothing else in this world interests me."

He stored the black wolf back into his book. With half a day left before departure, he decided to spend it shopping.

Opening a Spatial Gate, he stepped out directly into the same mall as before. The shoppers around him were startled but didn't raise alarms. After all, in this world, strange Nen users were common—they were all called Hunters.

Half a day passed, and Leo had spent nearly all ten million Jenny. As the countdown neared zero, he sealed everything behind him—wine, clothing, even children's toys—into his book.

A flash of light enveloped him. Moments later, Leo was back in the dark halls of the Black Bull Base.
