Gulp…gulp..
Oliver looked inside and gulped. He was very scared of the dark; even when he slept, he always kept a light on, so it would not be dark. Now, looking at the room, it felt like countless ghosts were roaming inside.
Should I go in? But inside is too dark. If I don't go in, the landlord will not deal with it. But the smell is not good. What should I do?
Oliver looked at Noha nervously. "Landlord…"
"Go in, Oliver, we have to deal with it quickly," Noha said quickly, not giving Olive a chance to speak.
Why did I come out? I should have just stayed in.
Oliver looked at James. His eyes filled with both nervousness and anger.
James looked aside, feeling guilty for not helping him.
Sorry, Oliver, you have to go in. I will silently cheer for you. It is just a little smelly.
Noha looked in. And urged Oliver to go in.
Oliver, seeing there was no escape, gathered his courage and stepped forward.
Gulp…gulp..
thud…thud…thud…thud…
He entered the room, and the pungent smell hit his face. Even with the mask, the smell is too strong to ignore. Suddenly, the door closed.
Thud!
"Hey, James, Noha, the door closed, open it," Oliver said hurriedly, very scared.
"Ok, chill, I closed it, the smell is coming outside," said James in a relaxed tone.
"But I can't see anything."
"Find the light switch then," said Noha.
Why can't you both come? He wanted to say it loud, but in the end he didn't
Inside was dark with a faint light. Because of the cloudy sky, it became even darker than normal.
He slowly went in. He saw a coffee mug on the floor, but the coffee was dry. He slowly sidestepped.
"Let's move towards the wall, it's a lot safer," he muttered to himself.
He slowly moved towards the left, with the wall behind his back. And slowly moved step by step.
Kwik…Kwik..(rat sound)
Suddenly, he heard a noise, and he froze there itself. And shouted.
"James! Are you there?"
"Yes! Did you find Harry?"
"No! I will."
"Do it quickly."
Oliver looked around, and in a few metres he would reach the hallway. He touched the wall to find a switchboard. But accidentally knocked off a tiny box.
Suddenly, a small creature crawled over Oliver's feet. Oliver was in fear, screamed at the top of his lungs. And looked at his feet.
"Ahhhhhhh!"
Kwik…Kwik…Kwik..(rat sound)
Seeing the rat, he breathed a sigh of relief and looked around with caution.
Outside. Noha and James stood at the railing looking outside as the rain stopped, and the sky was slowly clearing up.
Suddenly, they heard Oliver scream and were startled.
"Ahhhhhhh!"
James was anxious, he didn't know what was in. But by smell, they can say it's either chemical or food rotting. It would be best if it were either of the two. The worst case would be a corpse decomposing.
"Oliver, what happened?" James was worried that the worst case would happen if the killer was still in the house. If it is a natural death, it's ok.
"Oliver, answer us. We are coming in," Noha shouted. He tried to stay calm, but he was also worried.
They both went to the door, and when they were about to open it, they heard Oliver's voice.
"Don't worry it's nothing. You don't have to come in."
Inside, Oliver was happy when he heard Noha was coming in. But he subconsciously said not to come in.
Now he is deeply regretting why he said that. But he still has hope in James, as he would come in even if we said don't.
"Should we go in?" James asked.
"No, let's stay. I know Oliver, if we go in now, it will hurt his pride," said Noha, feeling relieved that he was fine.
"Let's wait for 5 minutes, if he doesn't come out we will go in," James said, still anxious, with countless predictions running in his mind, like what if the killer is there, made him say that, etc...
"Ok." Noha also nodded.
Oliver waited for a minute, hoping James would come in. But his hope was crushed. He can only go in.
He noticed that the room was slowly brightening up. It seems the moonlight from the window makes it bright.
He signed in relief, he doesn't have to fear anymore, as long as there is light, there is no fear.
He looked around, trying to find the switch, and saw a switchboard near the door. Which is different from his room.
He went towards it, looked at the switchboard as if it were gold. But that expression only made him look creepy.
Tat!
He pressed the switch, but the light didn't light. He was confused, so he tried a few more times.
tat…tat…tat…tat…
"Why the fuck is this not on?" Oliver said angrily. He tends to get frustrated quickly in the dark with anxiety.
Thud!
He punched the switchboard. And calmed down. And moved towards the hall.
Outside, James and Noha stayed near the door. Ready to go at any moment.
James suddenly asked, "Why didn't we all go in at once?"
Noha also didn't know why they didn't think about it. At that time, it was all about giving responsibility to someone he didn't even think about.
"I don't know," said Noha.
"We should go in," James said.
"Yeah."
Thud!
Sound came from inside; they both looked at each other. And heard Oliver cursing. They both signed.
James took out a cigarette and offered it to Noha.
"Want one?"
"Thanks," Noha said, taking the cigarette.
James took another one, lit it up and gave the lighter to Noha. They both got adjusted to the smell and didn't need masks anymore.
"Let's wait for a few more minutes before going in," Noha said.
James didn't say anything, just nodded.
Inside, Oliver comes to the hall and opens the door. And goes in. When he goes in, he finds there is no smell inside.
So he takes off the mask. And turned around as he was about to walk in. He saw a shadow which looked like a man with a knife standing there.
Gulp.
Oliver's phasmophobia started to act up. In his eyes. That shadow slowly transformed into an old man's shadow and a knife held upside down, walking towards him.
He took a step back, felt a cold sensation on his back. He quickly sidestepped to the right and accidentally saw a man lying on the ground motionless.
Oliver's mind was raised with more imaginary things, of old men's laughter. And he started to tremble in fear.
he…he…he..
His heart started to race. And he started to tremble. He can even hear his own heartbeat.
Ba-dum… ba-dum… ba-dum…
He started to sweat all over his body. And sat in the group. With a gust of wind, the shadow seemed to move towards him.
Oliver, who was already in a peak state of fear, lost his consciousness.
