Chapter 10 - Chapter 10 System Ability Part 2

In his mind, Lu Shang said it excitedly, and at the same time, he felt a little anxious because of his precious lifespan.

'System'! Invest 1 year of lifespan into the 'Lu Clan Shadow Step' technique!!!'

As Lu Shang gave commands to his system, in an instant a few lines of text immediately appeared before his eyes.

[You have practised the 'Lu Clan shadow step' technique for the whole year. But due to poor aptitude and your lack of understanding about movement art, you slightly improve the skill.]

'My Precious Lifespan!!!!'

'Fuck This Cursed Technique…'

Before Lu Shang cursed any further….

A year of practising the Lu Clan shadow step technique memory surged into Lu Shang's head, which completely startled him.

Although just a slight improvement, Lu Shang feels that his understanding about the Lu clan shadow footwork is deepening more.

.

'Huh, instant improvement?!'

'I can't imagine it would be so direct. I immediately gained one year's worth of practised memory. and the sudden realisation that I had been practising this technique day and night for a year was very natural.'

'So it works like this; this is really heaven-defying.'

'Ahh, instant improvement. What a great feeling!!'

This kind of feeling was so intoxicating that Lu Shang felt invigorated, and his mind was encouraging him to spend more of his life span.

'No, no. Hold on!'

Lu Shang stopped his surging emotion to invest more lifespan. He still doesn't know how much lifespanhis system will collect from cultivators at different stages or how long it will take.

So if he makes a mistake and uses more than the lifespan he gets from the system, there will be no more fools like him in this cultivation world. Because a few years of lifespan is a lot for lower cultivators like Lu Shang.

'I first need to know how much lifespanmy system collects from cultivators at different stages, at what time? And after making sure of that, I will make a decision on the correct use of my life span. Because the lifespan obtained from a cultivator's dao sermon is the main source of my cultivation resource. From knowing the system process, I will understand when, where, and how much of my lifespan I will have to spend.

After knowing this, I will be able to make correct use of the lifespan that I have obtained.

So Lu Shang decided to at least hold himself back now until he understood the lifespan of his system better.

To understand the system better, he must quickly visit one of the preaching houses to confirm the lifespan he would receive from the cultivators. In doing so, he will gain a clearer insight into the potency of the system he seeks to unravel.

As the sun begins to dip beneath the horizon, fatigue envelops him like a heavy cloak, compelling him to seek solace in rest for the night. Yet, the sands of time remain generous, allowing ample opportunity for the impending sect recruitment. Lu Shang harbours aspirations to traverse the vast expanse of the Dao sermon manors in the days to come.

Lu Shang looked at the system again and found another problem.

By the way, why is my age 77 years? If I recall, a normal mortal can live to the 100-year mark in this world because of the heaven and earth spiritual energy that increases their vitality….

And Qi cultivators in a later stage have an extra 40 to 50 years of life span.

Although that's not important anymore because I have a lifespan cheat. Even an ant's meat is still meat.

So I wish my future major realm breakthrough would give the same amount of lifespan as other cultivators.

Although I have a golden finger that has a lifespan cheat ability, I had a great ambition in my mind to pursue.

'I am very much aware that cultivating immortality is not an easy path.

Starting from the age of ten with the early support from parents and later a few years of arduous cultivation day and night, former Lu Shañg was barely able to reach the 3rd level of the early Qi consolidation stage and learnt some low- and mid-tier skills.

But compared to loose cultivators without clan or background, his starting point is very good. Because some of these cultivator situations are so bad that, forget about a few low-tier skills, they don't have a proper cultivation art.'

'That's why loose cultivators without higher-grade mortal roots can't think about cultivating immortality.

Even with a higher-grade root, they don't have support like me or have no resources to cultivate, because most of the resources are highly handled or monitored by nearby powerhouses.

That's why clan hiring and sect recruitment are the main targets of such cultivators, and this one of the province's True Lords-level Sect Recruitment is their lifelong dream they are waiting for. Now, as also a proper loose cultivator, all my dreams and goals are centred around this recruitment.'

'And now that I have reality-breaking golden fingers, at least I can handle most of the other loose cultivators when I properly evolve my techniques.'

'But still I need to be cautious of the cultivators from the powerful clans and families, many of whom are geniuses and have no shortage of powerful techniques or methods.'

And in these upcoming few days of the Sect recruitment, I have to prepare myself in such a way that I don't have to face any problems in getting into the sect. And for that, I have to use my system properly.

'If my memory serves me right, there are few permanent preaching manors in this city. And now that it's time to Sect recruit, more new Dao sermon manors should have opened. So this will be a great opportunity to put my system to use and understand it better.'

After thinking for a while, Lu Shang took a deep breath and looked around him.

The evening twilight was already falling, and the birds that had flown from different directions in the sky had returned to their homes. He couldn't help but recall his mind-shattering experiences today.

'It is early night now; today was a very hard day for me. First of all, I awoke into this dangerous world with both of my previous and present memories, which created a lot of pressure on my body, mind and soul.

As a result of which I fainted once or twice and later lost myself in the memories and almost went crazy. Then after knowing that it is a cultivation world, my excitement increased so much that I directly experienced cultivation stuff like Inner Space, Heavenly Gate, elemental ability and spiritual sense, along with all of these attack, defence and movement techniques that the former self learnt.

And because of my excitement, I almost ran out of energy, which made me almost faint again.

Later, when I recovered myself and found out that I did not get the Golden Finger even after transforming, I chanted strange mantras several times and finally got a Golden Finger after a long wait.

However, because of the amazement of my golden finger and previous exhaustion, I almost died at the hands of the most dangerous villain in this cultivation world and lost myself in darkness.

And all this was like a freight train running over my body, mind and soul.

So I decided that I would now get a good night's sleep that would heal my body, mind and spirit and start working the next morning as planned.'

~~~Yawn~~~Ah~~~~
'I'm already getting so sleepy…
Ah…Ahcooooo…
Hah, shit ….
I forgot; I should have at least bought a bedsheet or a mat during the day.
Hmm, so should I go now? But the shop is almost several kilometres away from here.
Besides, now I'm already getting so sleepy, and lazyness… is already taking hold of me... Yawn…
~~~Yawn~~~

~Snore~

~~grrr~~~nnng~~eshhh~~grrrr~~~nnng~~~eshhh

~grrr~~~nnng~~eshhh~~grrrr~~nng~~~shhh~~~

Within a short while, at the very end of the Southeast Outskirt area, among the numerous old houses scattered across the high and low uneven terrain filled with dense small forests, a strange sound of snoring was coming from one of the houses, so loud that the small and large animals taking refuge in the surrounding trees were trembling with fear in the night.
