*Mr. Comedian's POV*
Mr. Comedian sat inside one of the dusty homes, looking out of the window towards the edge of the dome. As if he was a lost puppy waiting for its owner to come back.
He suddenly felt a pain under his eye as the whisp of a blue flame lit on the mark beneath it. A solemn expression washed onto his face as he looked down despairingly. He heard the sound of glass shatter as he looked up, a shadowy mirror forming in the window as it slowly unveiled someone on the other side. It was the blonde girl Poppy again.
"You seem down, what happened?" Poppy asked only mildly concerned.
"Nothing, it isn't important right now. What is it?" He responded trying to put on a fake happy expression.
Poppy stared at his grim face with an eyebrow raised. She couldn't tell if it was that his smile was too wide, or his eyes were too shut, but something told her that she should try to pry into it.
"Are you sure? You seem off. Not like your usual self," she said as she seemingly walked into another room wherever she was.
"Seriously Poppy, it's nothing. Just tell me what you wanted to tell me."
She flipped the mirror to show Kala tied up in a cell. "I found the shark-girl your friend was looking for. Thing is I can't get her out. So, I might need some help."
Mr. Comedian sighed as he walked towards the bed inside the home. "Tomorrow night. Tell me where it is and I'll be there."
Poppy smiled, "Alright, but you'll owe me a date for doing all of this work for you."
Mr. Comedian sighed, "Fine..." He said as a mild sense of guilt that he had grown too accustomed washed over him. A familiar empty feeling that he would never be able to escape no matter who he lost.
*Hirune's POV*
"Hey, uuuhhh... Laz, how come you seem so talkative all of a sudden? Or was that just because I got new abilities from consuming another shard of your Artifact?" Hirune said as she walked down the street, flipping a coin in her hand and catching it over and over again.
"Laz is a unique nickname but to be completely honest, it was because before you consumed the second shard, I had a limit to how much I could speak to you. Now I don't really have that," Namulenza responded while taking over Hirune's left eye to look around.
Whenever Namulenza took over Hirune's left eye her left eye's pupil became white, and it glowed a dark violet. Which would make it obvious to anyone knowing of Namulenza that Hirune had consumed her artifact, making this eye possession thing a possible double-edged sword.
"So, Laz, tell me: Is there a reason you're so open to helping me learn about you and your sister?" She turned a corner and looked around, scanning the area for any traces of Kala.
"To be honest again, I could tell you about me. The thing is that my memory might be a bit hazy, so I feel as though if you learn something about me and I said otherwise because I remembered wrong it might mess with your research. As for the Demonia thing, don't call that witch my sister. We may be blood related but that doesn't mean I consider her my sister anymore.
"No, I could never consider a witch like her my sister and I'm one to talk. I saw her strip the farmers of their land, pillage villages, enslave anyone who survived her attacks, torture people for simply bumping into her. She made a money laundering scheme to buy countries just to destroy them and take them off the map. She then made me who I'm known as in your modern times by mind controlling me. After long enough I grew so much resentment not just for her, but for the world that she didn't need mind control anymore.
"Then after working so much out in the open, she gets one tiny little scratch and starts working from the shadows through her army of dead and brain washed people. And what did she do it for? As far as I know she did for the fun of it. Never telling me about her reasoning for any of her actions, not once. That's why I don't want you to ever call me that bitch's sister alright?" Namulenza said in a serious tone, a glare so hard Hirune could feel it even though it wasn't there.
"Yeah, she sounds like a bitch. Alright, I won't call her your sister again," Hirune said as she finally found a wanted poster of Kala.
'Hound,' she muttered causing a hound to come out of her shadow and sniff the wanted poster. The hound then led her to the police station, slowly melting back into her shadow as she walked in.
"Kala's cell, show me. I have a pretty useful pup that could help me search," she told the nearest officer.
He looked at the other officers, then sighed and led her to Kala's cell. Hirune simply nodded her head to the right, the hound taking that as a signal to come back out of her shadow and sniff the cell.
The hound made a gesture, as if it was trying to bark at a wall. She nodded, "Let's go around."
Hirune walked out of the station with the shadow hound walking next to her, then as soon as they took a single step out, they started running.
Hirune then whistled as she picked up the hound, "Try to move towards where you smell it as we go alright?" She told the hound while making a spring on her left foot putting all of her weight on it, then swapping to her right, then back to the left. Slowly getting high and far leaps, using the Devourer Jaws as a parachute whenever she needed to make a sharp turn.
Eventually being led to a mostly destroyed building, then to a nearby seemingly evacuated street. Kala's trail disappearing.
She kneeled down and pet the hound allowing it to go back into her shadow, then she started to look around.
It was unlikely she'd find anything herself considering the hound couldn't sniff anything out, but there was a chance that there was something else here that could help her. She suddenly went blind in her left eye again as Namulenza took it over. Then she heard her mutter, 'Ether Alchemist.'
Hirune nodded and repeated after her. When she did her vision suddenly became multiple different shades of blues, reds, oranges, yellows and greens. Similar to heat vision but for gas. She could see a few traces of gas all around her almost as if this place was in a way bombed with it recently.
"Hey, is there an incantation that allows me to collect that?"
"Devourer Jaws."
Hirune sighed as she swept the Devourer Jaws all over the area, collecting as many traces of the gas as she could. Now all she needed to do was find some sort of lab or something of the sorts to be able to figure out what type of gas it is. Then find out how it's made.
