"When we met in Asgard before, you loved waving knives and guns around. And now—you're going to play with me again, aren't you?"
He would never forget it.
It had clearly been his territory. He had clearly been on the verge of success. Yet everything had been destroyed by this insignificant Earthling!
Without him, perhaps the Destroyer would have killed that stupid brother outright.
If Thor had died, the power of Asgard might gradually have fallen into his hands…
And if that had happened, perhaps one day the Nine Realms would have known that their new king was named Loki.
What a pity—everything had been ruined by this insignificant Earthling!
Of course, even without Xu Dan, Odin had already seen everything.
In the end, Loki was still too immature.
Xu Dan rolled his wrist, producing a series of crackling sounds.
"Using a butcher's knife to kill a chicken—fitting for you. As for dealing with someone like me, I just think it's amusing."
Xu Dan smiled as gently as possible. His current state resembled a kind of "dual-star mode"—not nearly as powerful, of course.
But in Loki's eyes, that smile was like a blade.
"When I lead the Chitauri army to conquer this weak Earth, I will lock you in a cage and feed you like a dog every day. I won't let you die—I'll only let you live beneath my feet!"
Loki spoke through clenched teeth.
As he spoke, he quietly shifted the Mind Scepter. Taking advantage of Xu Dan's momentary inattention, he suddenly thrust it forward!
Since the scepter couldn't control that clever Earthling, then he would control this disgusting Earthling instead—it was all the same!
However, he vastly underestimated Xu Dan's reaction speed.
In mere tenths of a second, the tip of the scepter stabbed toward Xu Dan's abdomen.
But Xu Dan moved even faster.
Empty-handed—no, with just two fingers—he flicked lightly, deflecting the direction of the Mind Scepter!
Loki was horrified.
He had stabbed nothing but air!
Before he could react, a flash of golden light filled his vision. An arm glowing with divine radiance clamped around his neck and lifted him straight up!
Everything happened in a split second.
Even Tony, standing nearby, couldn't see it clearly—yet Loki was already airborne!
Loki kicked wildly, but the arm restraining him was like cast steel!
He couldn't breathe. Veins bulged violently across his head!
Blood flow to his brain was blocked. If this continued, he would lose strength within seconds—and moments later, he would be dead!
"I really don't know where your confidence comes from," Xu Dan said calmly, "thinking the Chitauri can conquer Earth."
"%...*@!"
Loki opened his mouth, but couldn't utter a single word.
His breathing was completely cut off, his face flushed deep red.
An utterly humiliating sight!
"Tony," Xu Dan said casually, "I'll leave this guy to you. Get him a suit to wear."
"A suit?" Tony was briefly confused, but his sharp mind reacted instantly.
He immediately had Jarvis send over a standard combat suit and quickly fitted it onto Loki!
Once encased in the steel armor, Loki was fixed in a rigid cross position. No matter how violently he struggled, he couldn't break free from the titanium alloy restraints!
Let alone Loki's slender build—even if he were stronger, the interior space of the armor was tight and form-fitting, leaving no room to exert force.
He couldn't even use his own strength!
As for the Mind Scepter, Xu Dan casually picked it up and deliberately shook it in front of Loki.
"Now, this belongs to me."
"Enough! You Earthlings!" Loki roared furiously. "Using such despicable tricks against a god!"
"A god?" Xu Dan sneered. "You're nothing more than a clown."
With that, Xu Dan gripped the Mind Scepter and jumped directly from the top floor of Stark Tower!
After such a long delay, several members of the Avengers finally arrived at the battlefield in Quinjet fighters.
Hawkeye was among them as well—it seemed S.H.I.E.L.D. had successfully reversed his brainwashing.
But taking this long to arrive, as Tony would put it, was like coming by ox cart.
"Oh my God… we're late—huh? The civilians have already been evacuated?"
Captain America's expression turned solemn. A veteran of countless battles, he spoke immediately:
"But there are more and more enemies. Be careful—aircraft are surrounding us!"
Black Widow swiftly maneuvered the Quinjet, dodging attack after attack.
"Wait—what was that just now?" someone asked. "What fell?"
Hawkeye leaned down to look and frowned. "It's a person. A man—the boss of the Antarctic Company."
Hawkeye didn't know Xu Dan personally, but as a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, he was familiar with the basic profiles of major global figures.
"Xu Dan?" Black Widow exclaimed in shock.
Her clearance level was high enough that she knew about Xu Dan's performance during the New Mexico incident—but he hadn't been like this back then!
Only Captain America stood frozen in place.
He was a super-soldier. He had always believed his physical strength was the strongest in the world.
Jumping from Stark Tower was something even he would dare to do!
But the figure that had just fallen was clearly not in free fall.
It was like a streak of light!
After landing, that figure moved with the dominance of a god—every strike carrying what felt like thousands of tempered blows, each one blasting invaders away!
And the enemy bullets—when they occasionally struck him—only produced sparks!
That body was like a living golden statue!
"Soldiers, join the fight!"
Nick Fury's voice snapped through the Quinjet's communicator, pulling everyone back to their senses.
Rogers glanced down again.
He had to admit it—whether it was Xu Dan or those mutants, their battles were far too intense.
Compared to them, he felt less like a hero and more like… just a super-soldier.
Still, he headed toward the rear hatch.
Yes—Comrade Shi Aimin had always taken unconventional paths. Jumping out of a plane was practically standard procedure.
Hawkeye watched Rogers and, honestly, couldn't help but envy those with powerful physiques.
"Natasha, drop me over there!"
"OK, old man!"
"That guy over there—he's Selvig!"
Black Widow looked toward the top of Stark Tower. Sure enough, the old man was standing there.
"Should we shut down that device first?"
Hawkeye nodded without hesitation.
"I think we have to. Otherwise, the enemy forces will keep pouring in! Be careful—it's coming again!!"
