Chapter 31 - Chapter 31: Hunting Symbiote, Spider-Man

On the pedestrian street, shrouded in neon lights.

A decaying human torso fell onto the pavement, causing onlookers to scream and scatter!

Whoosh!

A black shadow flashed by, and Vincent landed nimbly next to the torso. His vertical pupils burned like greenish-white flames, and his dark-skinned body showed streamlined musculature.

The Symbiote rasped in his mind, "It has already parasitized another human nearby. Clearly, its strength is much greater than the first Symbiote; it can almost choose any human as a Symbiote host!"

"Which human?"

The black cat was like the most formidable hunter, its cat eyes coldly scanning the fleeing pedestrians. Among them, there was no obvious sign of being parasitized by a Symbiote. He quickly realized that the second Symbiote intended to escape amidst the chaos.

"Where is the Symbiote?" Vincent snarled, his lips curling in annoyance.

The instincts and bestiality of the Symbiote and the Flerken intertwined and raged, pushing his human reason to the brink of collapse. Brutality, wildness, indifference, and other inhuman evils invaded his body and mind, causing Vincent's actions to become increasingly reckless and insane!

Just like before.

Vincent tore and crushed the human host along with the Symbiote parasitizing him. Although he already knew that human was beyond saving, and delaying further would cause more innocent people to be hit by the car, his action was indeed the optimal solution at the time. However, this unhesitating act of bloodthirsty brutality was already vastly different from his thoughts as a human!

The Symbiote said, "I can only sense within thirty meters, but there are too many humans nearby, over a hundred, making it impossible to pinpoint which human is parasitized!"

Its voice grew hoarser and sharper, like a devil's whisper offering a suggestion: "I think the optimal solution right now is to just kill everyone here. Otherwise, if it escapes, even more people will die!"

"Don't hesitate! Make a choice quickly, it's about to blend into the crowd and escape…"

"Shut up!" Vincent growled hoarsely, looking at the fleeing humans, and suddenly plunged one of his claws into the ground below!

Screech—

Accompanied by the violent tremor of the entire pedestrian street, dozens of terrifying cracks spread across the smooth ground, centered around Vincent in his black cat form. Then, using a thirty-meter radius as a demarcation point, hard tentacles made of black goo burst out of the ground, shooting straight up into the city night sky ten meters above!

Dozens of hard tentacles formed a dense barbed fence, trapping everyone within the thirty-meter radius!

Dead silence!

The scene was utterly silent!

Countless people looked up in horror, dominated by immense fear. At the same time, they recalled the shame of being imprisoned in a birdcage—ahem, wrong scene!

"Find it for me!" Vincent kept one claw in the ground, his body motionless, while his other claw transformed into a tentacle, reaching out to the people surrounded.

"Monster, don't come closer!" Many people screamed and fell to the ground.

But they soon discovered that the outstretched tentacle was soft, as if it had ordinary cat paw pads. The tentacle merely touched a shoulder or chest, then quickly moved on, one by one contacting and checking the people encircled by the tentacle fence.

Vincent was using touch to search for the human host parasitized by the second Symbiote.

After all, a Symbiote can parasitize silently, and when not exercising conscious control, often even the host himself doesn't know he has been parasitized.

When Vincent had screened over half the people, a middle-aged man standing towards the back of the crowd frowned slightly, inexplicably touching his chest.

For some reason, large beads of cold sweat kept breaking out on his body, soaking his undershirt and making him feel chilly.

Clearly, after realizing the tentacles wouldn't harm anyone, most of his fear had subsided… Fear, fear, fear of death!

The second Symbiote, lying dormant and parasitizing the middle-aged man, knew through the man's shared perspective that the Symbiote's host was about to check him, and it involuntarily trembled in terror!

Before this, it couldn't sense the first Symbiote, so it knew that Symbiote had been killed.

After being discovered by Vincent, it constantly switched parasitic hosts to escape, and during its escape, it increasingly realized the power of the Symbiote's host!

The gap was too wide!

When they, Symbiotes, existed alone, even the most humble survival was difficult to achieve. But after parasitizing a suitable creature, they could unleash a series of abilities such as body hardening, transformation, super strength, and super speed. These abilities were also closely related to the physical constitution of the host they parasitized!

But after rotating through so many human hosts, the second Symbiote found that the power it could exert was far less than what the Symbiote's host displayed!

It had no idea.

Vincent's current state was not just the result of the Symbiote's parasitic abilities. It was a superposition: after being parasitized by the Symbiote, he then parasitized the Flerken in a Symbiote-like manner.

The combined effect was not a simple one plus one.

"Symbiote boss, it's impossible for him to come save me now. I'm going to die, I'm going to die here!" The second Symbiote was agitated and uneasy within the middle-aged man. Vincent's tentacles had already screened to not far in front of him, about to check the host it was currently parasitizing!

What to do? What to do? What to do?

Death was approaching!

The second Symbiote felt despair, but just then, it seemed to sense something.

The parasitized middle-aged man turned his head, inexplicably looking at two people in the crowd.

It was a woman in her early thirties, holding a boy of about ten. Although the woman herself was terrified, she softly comforted the child: "Peter, it's okay, don't worry. Aunt Mei is here, she will definitely protect you."

Peter nodded, looking at the terrifying black cat with some fear, then bravely stood in front of Aunt Mei. Suddenly, his hair stood on end, and he turned his head to meet the middle-aged man's hollow gaze.

As if stared at by an evil abyss, Peter turned pale with fright, instinctively pointed a finger, and blurted out: "The monster the black cat is looking for… it's him!"

"Peter, what are you saying?" Aunt Mei was stunned.

"What are you saying, I'm not a monster!" The middle-aged man also found it a bit unbelievable and couldn't help but retort, but suddenly, he opened his eyes in horror, and a mass of grayish-green viscous liquid gushed out of his open mouth!

Half of the liquid was still inside the man, while the other half floated in the air, wriggling as if alive!

The bizarre, cognition-defying sight stunned everyone around, leaving them rooted to the spot.

"Found you!" The three-in-one Vincent was incredibly decisive in his killing. The moment the second Symbiote was exposed, his elongated tentacle immediately transformed into a sharp, hardened tentacle spike, thrusting forward to kill.

Piercing through the air, the tentacle, like a nail, penetrated the grayish-green Symbiote's body, pinning it to the tentacle fence behind it!

"Sizzle!"

The second Symbiote violently surged and boiled, abruptly separating the pinned part. The other part of its liquid body, like a jet of water from a water gun, or a grayish-green net, surged towards the woman not far to the side.

"Aunt Mei, look out!"

Peter spread his hands to shield Aunt Mei, and thus, the grayish-green liquid infiltrated his body very smoothly!
