Chapter 4 - Veer fell into trouble

As soon as the train started, an announcement suddenly came over the speaker, "Welcome aboard my train. This train will take you to the last stop, and in between, you will get everything you need for food and drink."

But Veer looked at the train and said, "It doesn't seem right. This train is entirely made of wood. Where is the sound system? How is this possible?"

A little later, someone came with snacks and said, "Once again, welcome to all of you."

Then she came to Veer and said, "Sir, please take this and have a pleasant journey."

Veer asked, "How long until the next stop?"

The woman replied, "Sir, the next stop will be by tomorrow morning, the last stop, so please take this and enjoy."

"Okay sir, thank you."

Veer thought to himself, "Now what should I do? I'll get bored by tomorrow morning." Just then, the woman came back again and handed him a book, saying, "Sir, please take this. It's our train's best book, and reading it entirely might take you several months."

Veer replied, "What nonsense! If I want, I can finish it in one hour."

The woman said, "Alright, sir, as you wish."

Veer started reading the book. It was filled with thriller and action, full of mysteries and dangers. He opened the first page.

On that page, it was written: Son 1880.

The story was about an ancient city called Intelio, which was completely deserted. The people there had no money or valuables; they weren't hungry or starving, but suddenly, something miraculous happened. It rained money—huge amounts of cash falling from the sky.

Everyone in the town was busy looting the money, and no one was aware of the source or the reason behind this strange phenomenon.

Then Veer said,

"This is all nonsense," and closed the book, putting it aside.

"There was no miracle here. A thief was stealing money and running away. The police shot him, which caused his bag to burst open and the money to rain down. What a useless book! Bring some interesting book or anything else; I'm getting bored. I'll get some sleep now so I can rest and then gather more information for the case."

Veer fell asleep, and his phone started ringing continuously with a "ring-ting-ring" sound, but Veer was too deep in sleep to notice.

Morning came, and the train announcement said, "Good morning, everyone. We are about to reach the last station. Thank you."

Veer opened his eyes and saw that all the hungry people, except him, had vanished. Veer was shocked—where did all those people suddenly go?

Then the same woman came and greeted him, "Sir, your destination is just a few minutes away."

Veer asked, "What happened to those people who were sitting here?"

She replied, "They got off at the previous stop. No one gets off at the last stop, yet the train still goes there. You are the first passengers to get off at the last stop."

Veer asked why, and the woman said she didn't know herself but had noticed this pattern over the past one and a half years while working here passengers always get off at the previous stop, leaving the last stop empty.

Veer said, "Interesting. I'm impressed; this case is going to be exciting."

The woman said, "Excuse me, sir, did you say something?"

Veer replied, "No, you may go."

Then the train started blowing its horn loudly as it neared the last stop and began moving very fast.

Veer said, "What's this? The train was running normally, but as we approached the stop, it sped up. Something's special here."

"I swear, the further I go, the more impressed I am by this case. Now I'm excited to get off quickly and reach that village. Let's see what happens to my life. If I meet a girl, it'll be good; otherwise, I'll have to return empty-handed."

Suddenly the train braked sharply, and everyone started shaking. Veer also lost balance and fell slightly but regained his footing just in time to see a girl falling from another door. He caught her just in time. She showed a strange emotion upon seeing him.

The train stopped straight, and the wood suddenly fled away, allowing Veer only a glimpse of the girl.

When the train reached the last stop and Veer got down, he saw that the station was completely deserted, with no one in sight except for an old man.

Veer approached him and asked about the code word for where the theft was to take place.

The man understood and motioned Veer to follow him, and Veer followed behind.

Then Veer started following the old-looking man. The man took him to a boat and said, "Sit in this and stay calm."

Veer asked, "Why? What happened?"

The man replied, "We have been told to ensure you leave that village safely."

Then he said, "Let's go," and both got on the boat.

After about one to two hours, they reached the village, which was completely ruined. Looking at the people there, it seemed as if they were not humans but living corpses.

Just then, Veer and the man's entry was announced. The man called all the villagers and said, "Listen, everyone, this is the new sub-inspector of this village, so pay attention to him. He is very strict."

When Veer looked at all the villagers, he tried to read their faces—but he failed, because none of them showed any emotion. Their expressions were blank, lifeless, and unresponsive, making it impossible for Veer to understand anything about them.

Then he prepared himself to meet the woman who had written the letters. But when he inquired about her, he learned that the woman had died. This shocked Veer.

Now he wondered who would tell him the truth about this village—if no one else could, he would have to uncover it himself.

Then Veer went to the school first. He saw that the school had become quite beautiful, and children were studying there.

He wondered why the letter had mentioned such strange things about this place.

Just then, a voice came from inside the school, saying, "Don't you understand that you should first complete your work before coming here? You came without finishing it! Go and stand outside."

As Veer moved toward the direction of that voice, he saw that the same girl was in the school. At that moment, he felt completely relaxed, as if he had forgotten everything about his mission.

He just stood there silently, gazing at the girl.
