The Going Merry soon arrived at Montblanc Cricket's residence.
From a distance, the house's façade looked extraordinarily magnificent.
Luffy's eyes gleamed as he shouted, "That guy looks rich! Look at that entrance — it's so cool!!"
Chopper gasped. "Could it be that he picked up all the legendary gold that sank to the bottom of the sea? Is that why his house is decorated so grandly?"
Usopp's eyes sparkled. "Probably! If that guy wasn't rich, how could he build a house that looks like a palace? It's too cool!!"
"Nani??" Zoro said flatly. "Open your eyes and look carefully."
Sanji exhaled smoke and said, "It sounds nice calling him a dreamer, but honestly, he's just a guy who likes to put on a show."
Although Sandy knew it was just a trick, he couldn't deny that Montblanc Cricket was indeed a genius for coming up with such an idea.
Standing nearby, Sandy retorted, "Why are you two talking so sourly? Are you jealous of him or something?"
"What did you say, you bastard?!" Sanji and Zoro shouted in unison.
Sandy crossed his arms. "Do you even understand the design of such a genius? You're just jealous of him!"
Without another word, the three immediately started fighting.
Duang! Duang! Duang!
Nami sighed helplessly. "I said, you guys…"
Robin chuckled softly. "You must be tired, Nami."
At this moment, Luffy had already jumped onto the grass. When he saw the side of the house clearly, he suddenly exclaimed, "It's just a wooden board!"
"Nani?!" Chopper and Usopp cried out together.
Sanji pointed and said, "See, you idiot Sandy? Was I wrong? The real house is only half — the rest is plywood. He's just a stingy guy."
Sandy scoffed. "You're just jealous, and now you're slandering him. Sanji, you're truly an ignorant man!"
"What did you say!!" Sanji's eyebrow twitched, ready to brawl again.
"Both of you, shut up!" Nami snapped before turning to Robin. "What kind of dream did he have that got him exiled here?"
Robin thought for a moment. "I'm not too sure. It seems that man once said this island, Jaya, is buried with a huge amount of gold."
"Gold!!" Nami's eyes instantly turned into Belly signs. She pointed at the ground excitedly. "Chopper! Dig quickly! There's gold here!"
"Oh!" Chopper immediately started digging into the grass with his antlers. "Will there really be gold if I dig?"
Sandy, about to disembark, saw Nami and Chopper's antics — and in disbelief, he slipped and fell straight off the ship!
"Ouch, damn it!!" Sandy groaned in pain.
Zoro, already on the grass, turned back. "Hey, Sandy, you're still injured. Don't push yourself — go back to the ship and rest."
Sandy's eye twitched. This bastard's words are getting more and more annoying!
Seeing that no one was around the simple house, Luffy casually opened the door without permission.
"Hey, Luffy," Sandy warned, "the owner's not home, and you just broke in! Be careful you don't get extorted later!"
Nami called out, "Sandy, stop talking nonsense and help dig! You still owe me 1.2 million Belly!"
Sandy yelled, "You stingy woman! Are you serious right now?!"
Before Sandy could finish, Sanji noticed a book on the wooden table, drawing everyone's attention.
Nami picked it up and read the cover aloud — "The Great Liar Noland."
Because Noland was from the North Blue, his story was well-known there — and since Sanji was also from the North Blue, he naturally knew it.
Sanji explained, "The Great Liar Noland might sound like a fairy tale, but the man really existed.
About four hundred years ago, in a country in the North Blue, there was an explorer named Montblanc Noland.
One day, after returning from a voyage, Noland went to the palace to report something to the king — that he had discovered an island on the Grand Line filled with mountains of gold.
To confirm it, the king led two thousand soldiers to the Grand Line. Along the way, they faced countless storms and monsters, but eventually, they reached the island.
When they arrived, only the king, Noland, and a hundred soldiers were left alive. The losses were devastating.
But when they stepped ashore, there was no gold — only a dense jungle. The king, furious at being deceived, executed Noland.
Noland's last words before his death were: 'I know now… those mountains of gold have sunk into the sea!'
Since then, no one ever believed him again. That's the story of Montblanc Noland."
Sandy stood silently, feeling injustice for Noland. Was it the Knock Up Stream that caused it all?
Meanwhile, in Mock Town...
Bellamy sat at the bar, his face dark as he downed a glass of rum.
Moments later, one of his men handed him the latest bounty posters of the Straw Hat Crew:
Storm D. Sandy — 300,000,000 Belly
Monkey D. Luffy — 100,000,000 Belly
Roronoa Zoro — 60,000,000 Belly
Black Leg Sanji — 40,000,000 Belly
Nico Robin — 80,000,000 Belly
Tony Tony Chopper — 50 Belly
(Usopp and Nami had yet to receive bounties.)
Bellamy frowned as he looked at the posters. Based on what he remembered, that Straw Hat kid and the swordsman beside him didn't seem like much of a threat.
But the man with a 300 million bounty… that one, I want to fight, he thought. He still didn't understand how he'd blacked out before.
His subordinates whispered that the Straw Hats had gone to visit the exiled man — and that the exile supposedly had gold salvaged from the bottom of the sea.
Bellamy slammed his glass down, laughing. "Let's go. If we're Pirates, we'll settle things with the Straw Hats the Pirate way. And that guy, Montblanc Cricket — he's got gold, right? Hahaha…"
His vice-captain, Sarkies, frowned. "Bellamy, if these bounties are real…"
Bellamy sneered. "Heh, come on, Sarkies. You really think those little nobodies are worth that much?"
Sarkies raised his cleaver. "I'll follow your lead."
And so, the Bellamy Pirates — the so-called "Realists" — took up their blades and set off toward where Sandy and the Straw Hats were.
They were about to slay a dragon...
Too scary!!
