Chapter 5 - Melody of Mysteries

"Look at what the morning holds,

Where beautiful melodies guide our souls.

We meet new lads,

Sudden are impacts.

I found it.

What?

Eurika!"

The dark night had passed, and a new day was born.

Morning spilled through the curtains in golden ribbons. The walls reflected the light as the room shimmered bright─ almost magical.

Parmiss blinked at the soft glow, her body refusing to move under the weight of the night before.

Shinigami was already half-awake, muttering something about "Opening the guts of a creature─ only God might know about." in her sleep.

Then came a voice—

"Rise and shine, sleepyheads"

The voice was musical, lazy, yet perfectly placed.

A girl stood by the mirror, brushing her dark blue─ almost purple hair with practiced grace. Even the sunlight seemed to pause for her. Her eyes shone like starlight, her body moving with elegant rhythm.

Parmiss rubbed her eyes "Good Morning" Her voice came out still half-asleep.

The girl smiled cheerfully and stood after tying her hair into elegant pigtails.

She wore a dress that looked like something straight out of a fairytale.

Walking slowly toward Parmiss—her posture flawless, her tone light—she said,

"You may address me as," A soft laugh escaped her lips. "Lady Eurika" She extended her hand gracefully.

Parmiss rubbed her eyes a little, "Eurika Fiore...?" She yawned, reaching out her own hand to shake Eurika's. "Nice to meet you."

Eurika smiled bright "Everyone is waiting for you two, downstairs" She pulled back her hand and walked towards the door as she turned around and said, "Get ready and attend me at the breakfast as well as the rest."

After the cheerful girl had left, Parmiss got up from the bed and went to wake up Shinigami, who was still having dreams about committing horrible acts on creatures out of this world.

...

After Both of them got freshened up and changed their clothes to something presentable, they both went to the dining table where everyone was waiting for them.

The room was bathed in such soft sunlight; it needed no lamps to glow.

The long table was carved in an elegant Victorian style with curved sides that made it easy to sit comfortably.

A rich red tablecloth covered it, adorned with palace-like placemats.

"Seems like the Sleepyheads are awake now." said a girl with glasses, smiling brightly.

She looked oddly familiar, like someone they'd met before.

"Good morning, everyone." Parmiss greeted warmly.

Around twenty or thirty girls of different ages sat along the table.

Parmiss and Shinigami joined them. The sunlight felt soft and gentle, filling the room with calm energy.

"I was waiting for you both─ where were you?" The girl with glasses leaned forward. Now, in the light, they recognized her: the same girl who had fallen asleep waiting for them last night—except now she wore glasses.

Everyone had a cheerful smile on their faces.

"I am sorry for keeping you waiting." Parmiss said with a warm smile. Shinigami remained quiet, trying to stay composed among so many people.

The girl with glasses smiled and extended her hand "No worries, I am Cora Harman, the in charge of students here"

"It's a pleasure to meet you Cora, I am Parmiss" With a warm and gentle smile both girls introduced themselves.

Shinigami sat down quietly. Her eyes scanned the table like she was searching for exits, not friends.

There wasn't any food on the table at this moment, The table was long but at the same time very wide.

There were many puppet-like dolls holding instruments that stood in elegant formation along the sides.

As the chatter filled the air—

Eurika entered like a breeze of wind.

Her movement was precise, smooth, and radiant—she used tables, walls, and even windows to flow through the space before landing gracefully on the long table like a dancing bird.

Her shoes tapped a musical rhythm, and she froze in a perfect pose—like a melody paused mid-note. Her hands in position like the flowing river. A movement so beautiful that the world seemed to pause.

"My dear audience, let it be my pleasure to serve you breakfast, accompanied by the graceful performance of this lady standing before you~"

Parmiss's eyes widened. She turned to Cora on her side. "What's up with Eurika?"

Cora chuckled as replied with a smiley face "Eurika's a ballet prodigy. She performs for us whenever she finishes her practices." She then added with a soft expression "She's won so many awards, you won't find her equal in seven worlds!"

Even Shinigami, who felt like she didn't belong in any crowd, seemed intrigued now.

As Eurika finally began her performance, the wind seemed to move with the flow of her body. Ribbons created from magic of her steps danced in the room with her. The food came flying in the room from the Kitchen dancing with melody that Eurika was performing.

That puppets started to move, playing a deep and classic melody.

Every step she took sparked light across the table.

Sunlight followed her gracefully, flowers blooming from her fingertips as if carried by a stream.

As her performance finally came to an end, the rhythm of the room dimming as the magic faded like a spark. Yet it left behind a warmth that lingered in every heart.

"Amazing. Beautiful. Unreal."

The cheers and applause echoed around the hall.

Parmiss whispered under her breath, "Was that… magic or a dream?" Her eyes were opened wide like she saw something straight out of a book.

Shinigami only smirked and replied. "It felt like Both."

Eurika smiled like dandelions in a garden. She stepped down from the table with graceful ease and took her seat.

"Let's begin the breakfast, everyone" Cora clapped her hands, signaling to start the breakfast.

Everyone thanked for the food and began eating.

The taste was soft, rich, and full of flavor—melting on their tongues like sunlight on snow.

Everyone smiled at Eurika, who was eating with a very formal manner that might be hard to replicate without practice.

As laughter filled the hall and sunlight touched every face, Parmiss couldn't help but wonder — was this just breakfast… or the start of something beautiful?

...

After the quite—oh, what's the word? — supercalifragilisticexpialidocious breakfast, the girls prepared themselves and left for school—

unaware of the chaos waiting ahead on this strange, wonderful journey.
