Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

A sharp headache split Leo's skull as he woke.

Rubbing his temples, he froze, the room around him was completely unfamiliar.

Oil paintings adorned the walls, tables and cabinets were carved with intricate patterns, and beneath him lay a velvet bed. He frowned, trying to recall his last memory.

Yesterday, his dorm mate had recommended a so-called healing anime, Akame ga Kill!.

Ignoring the warnings, he'd watched the whole thing overnight. By dawn, his eyes were bloodshot, his expression feral, and his mood unstable.

Until that scene, Akame's sister's head swaying in the wind and rain, eyes closed, blood dripping.

The artistry and emotion of it struck him. His friend had actually cried, and Leo, in disbelief, had punched him.

Thinking, I can't be the only one healed by this, he clicked the [Healing] tag, gave it a like, and commented:

> "Good healing anime. Not wrong at all."

Then he lay down to sleep. When his eyes opened again, he had already transmigrated into another world.

Leo held his forehead, stood up, and began to explore.

In the wardrobe mirror, he saw a familiar face, his own, but with deeper eyes and a faint, knowing smirk.

Just as he leaned closer, a sudden wave of pain hit him.

He clutched his head and fell back onto the bed as foreign memories flooded in.

He had inherited the body of a patrol officer in the world of Akame ga Kill, a rare man of courage, fearless in upholding Imperial law, who had been poisoned to death.

A report had come from the Imperial Capital, exposing the criminal deeds of Viscount Orzak's family.

Under the pretext of investigating another case, the officer had gone to confirm it personally.

That very night, he was poisoned.

As a battle-hardened enforcer, he wouldn't have fallen to ordinary toxins.

But Orzak, anticipating him, used a mixed poison recipe learned from a distant tribe, layered with safeguards, to eliminate a feared and troublesome figure in the capital.

The tea contained theobromine. The incense in the bedroom was a calming blend.

Separately harmless, together, deadly. The patrol officer drank the tea, breathed the fumes, and collapsed.

Recalling the viscount's laughter and his golden-haired daughter's smiles, Leo felt a chill crawl down his spine.

This was that family, the perverted noble household from the anime!

They had captured Tatsumi's friends, imprisoned the homeless, conducted cruel experiments on them, and slaughtered the weak in their basement.

In that hidden dungeon, brown blood stained faces, limbs fell from infected bodies, the air reeked of rot, and thick, dark fluids clung to the floor.

From dawn till dusk, the screams never stopped. This mansion was a secret human purgatory in the Imperial Capital.

Remembering the officer's death and the horrors of that basement, Leo's anger burned hot.

Greedy nobles were one thing, but this kind of inhuman depravity deserved public execution.

Night deepened. The stars hung silent. A faint footstep echoed in the corridor outside.

Leo pressed himself against the door, listening, it was getting closer.

He paused, then slipped under the covers. Though he wasn't as powerful as the Ice Queen Esdeath.

His patrol officer's body possessed enough strength to fight dangerous S-class enemies.

He had inherited extraordinary physical ability.

Uneasy, but not afraid, he slowed his breathing and steadied his pulse until it mimicked death itself.

The heavy door creaked open.
