Chapter 3 - Giving In

The night air was humid, heavy with the scent of rain on asphalt. Serenity sat in her busted Honda, cursing under her breath as the engine sputtered one last time before going quiet for good. She slammed her palms against the steering wheel.

"Damn it!" She shouted, her voice cracking.

She was stranded on a dark street, streetlights flickering like they were tired too. Her phone battery was hanging on by a thread. She thought about calling her cousin, maybe one of her girls, but none of them would answer this late. Then her eyes landed on the last text she'd received earlier that week, still glowing in her messages.

Mad: When you need me, call. Don't matter when.

Serenity chewed her lip. He wasn't the type of man you called for favors. But her chest was tight with desperation—and curiosity. Before she could second-guess herself, she hit dial.

It rang once.

"Serenity," his voice cut through the night, deep and amused. "Didn't think I'd hear from you this soon."

"My car just died. I'm stuck out here," she said quickly. "I... didn't know who else to call."

"Good girl," Maddox murmured, like she'd passed a test she didn't know she was taking. "Drop me your location. Sit tight. I'm coming."

Fifteen minutes later, headlights cut through the shadows, and a sleek black Maybach rolled to a stop in front of her. Serenity's heart thudded harder when Maddox stepped out, his frame commanding even under the streetlight glow. He looked too clean, too expensive for a night like this, but he didn't seem to care.

"You really called me," he said, lips tugging into a wicked grin as he approached. "Guess you're not as scared as you pretend."

Serenity crossed her arms, pretending too.

"Don't flatter yourself. I was desperate."

He leaned in, close enough that his cologne clouded her senses.

"Desperation's a doorway. Once you step through, baby, you never come back the same."

Before she could reply, he opened his back door and nodded toward the leather seats.

"Get in."

She hesitated, but something about the command in his voice made her obey. The moment she slid inside, she was swallowed by the luxury—the scent of leather, the hum of quiet power beneath the car.

Maddox followed, shutting the door behind him. The silence was thick, charged.

"You know," he drawled, reaching into his pocket, "you just gave me the perfect chance."

Her eyes widened as he pulled out a foil square, silver-stamped with his logo. The condom.

"Wait—here?" she whispered.

"Here," Maddox confirmed, his tone flat, final. "You called me, Serenity. That means you trust me. And if you trust me enough to call, you trust me enough to test."

Her breath hitched as he leaned forward, lips brushing her ear.

"Besides, I want to see how well my invention handles a tight little pussy like yours."

Serenity's thighs clenched. "You're insane."

"I told you that already," he smirked. "Now take those panties off."

Her fingers shook as she lifted her dress, sliding her lace panties down her legs. Maddox's eyes darkened instantly, his hand brushing over her bare thigh like he owned it.

"That's my girl."

He unzipped his slacks with one hand, his other hand never leaving her leg. The foil tore open with his teeth, and she watched, breathless, as he rolled the condom down over his big, thick length. It gleamed in the dim light, snug and perfect, almost unreal.

"First test," he murmured. "Let's see how real it feels."

Before she could think, he pulled her onto his lap, her knees digging into the leather seat. His tip pressed against her entrance, hot and demanding.

"Mad—" she started, but the rest of her words turned into a moan as he slid inside.

Her nails dug into his shoulders. He was huge, stretching her walls in ways that made her cry out, but smooth at the same time. The condom didn't dull it—if anything, it sharpened every sensation.

Maddox groaned low in his throat.

"Perfect fit. No slip. No drag." His hips thrust deeper, harder. "Feels like nothing's there at all."

Serenity whimpered as he drove into her, the car rocking with every thrust. She clung to him, her moans echoing off the tinted windows. Maddox's grip was bruising on her hips, his eyes wild as he watched her fall apart.

"Say it," he growled. "Tell me how it feels."

Her head fell back, lips trembling.

"It—oh, God—it feels real. Too real."

"Exactly," Maddox hissed, fucking her harder. "That's the science, baby. That's the future."

Her body clenched around him, heat flooding her core as her climax ripped through her. Maddox's growl filled her ears, his hips snapping harder until he stilled, spilling into the condom with a groan that vibrated through her chest.

For a moment, the only sound was their breathing, ragged and uneven.

Then Maddox tilted her chin up, his thumb brushing her swollen lips.

"Test one: passed. And you?"

Serenity's body still trembled, her voice husky. "I... I don't know if I'll ever forget this."

His grin was sharp, dangerous.

"Good. You're not supposed to."

He tucked himself back in, careful as he slid the used condom off and tossed it into a sealed black bag. Clean, precise, like he'd thought of everything. Then, as if he hadn't just rocked her world in the backseat of a luxury car, he reached into his jacket and pulled out a thick envelope.

"For your trouble." He dropped it into her lap. Heavy. Cash.

Her lips parted. "You're serious?"

"I told you. Ten racks per test. And that was only the first." He leaned close, his eyes drilling into hers. "There's more where that came from. But only if you keep saying yes."

Serenity's pulse thundered as he slid out of the car, adjusting his jacket like nothing had happened. He walked around, opened her door, and held out a hand.

"Come on. You're hungry. We'll eat. Then I'll buy you a real car."

Her breath caught. "What?"

"You're mine now," Maddox said simply. "And mine don't drive junk."
