What went wrong?
Was Vale a little too hopeful?
Was Greed simply too in control of herself?

Vale raised his hands. He truly admired Greed for being able to control her impulses to this degree. He wasn't going to betray his earlier statement.
It was now his turn to do his best to ignore his desires…
Something quite difficult to do, considering the caged beast that was now entirely awake.
Vale sighed and closed his eyes.
"Greed, I'm honestly—"
Vale heard the clink of metal and then tasted a kiss.
His eyes shot open only to see that Greed had dropped her spear, leaned down, and planted her lips on his.
'Huh?'
Greed pulled away and held Vale by his shoulders.
"This action was indeed born as a result of yours."
Her arms slid around Vale's body until she picked him up and carried him toward Ximena's room.
'Woah!'
Vale was feeling a little emasculated, but he wasn't going to complain — not while held in the arms of possibly the most beautiful woman in all of Pandora.
