I couldn't sit still. I paced back and forth across the room, running my hands through my hair as my mind tried to piece everything together. None of it made sense.
How did Vanessa get to Serena? How did she even know where she was? And where the hell were my men when all this was happening?
I turned, paced again. Why now? Why did it have to happen now that I and Serena were slowly fixing our problems? I couldn't let this go on.
They've turned Serena as bait and I know it's the only reason they haven't tried to kill her yet, because they know they'd lose their stronghold on me.
But the mere thought that Vanessa had been so close to an unconscious Serena unnerved me. They must have done something to her and now that Vanessa knows this place, they might attempt another attack.
I didn't have enough men here to breach it and the few men who had been with Serena suddenly disappeared.
I pulled my phone from my pocket and called George. He picked up on the second ring.
