Chapter 2 - FOR THE PRIDE.

Ashraf drifted into darkness.

At first, there was nothing. No sound. No light.

Then, slowly, he felt a pull — not from his body, but from his chest, as if something was lifting his soul upward. His feet left the ground. The world below became blurry.

In front of him, he saw his mother.

She stood alone.

Her eyes were covered in darkness. Her Tears rolled down her face continuously. Her body trembled as she cried.

Her voice broke as she spoke.

"It was all your father's mistake… he is the reason we are here."

She reached out her hands toward him, but could not see him.

Her voice became softer, but heavier.

"Don't worry… I will get you out of this. But listen carefully… trust no one except me."

Her words stayed in the air like an echo.

Then everything faded into darkness again.

And again he was in another dream in which....

ASHRAF gasped and sat up suddenly.

His head spun. His vision was blurry. His fists were aching badly.

He rubbed his eyes slowly.

When his sight cleared, he saw SINU sitting beside his bed, smiling.

"Good morning," SINU said calmly.

Ashraf looked around, confused.

"Y-yeah… good morning… what time is it?"

"10 in the morning," SINU replied casually.

ASHRAF frowned.

"Where did you find me?"

SINU looked puzzled.

"Find you? What are you talking about? You called me and JAKE yourself yesterday."

ASHRAF stared at him, completely lost.

SINU leaned forward and began explaining slowly.

"Yesterday… you were not yourself. You were extremely angry. You rushed straight into HAMPSHIRE UNIVERSITY. You broke into their hostel and beat nearly 50 students."

ASHRAF'S eyes widened.

SINU continued.

"You didn't stop there. You went to the Mayor's house and found GARRY GONZALEZ having breakfast. You climbed onto the dining table and kicked him directly in the face while he was eating."

ASHRAF sat there in pure disbelief.

SINU then added,

"And last night, you threw a big party for us. You spent about $500… that's around ₹50,000. I stayed here, and JAKE went home to freshen up."

Ashraf's mind froze.

₹50,000.

That was his whole month's money — including his mother's medicines.

His chest felt heavy.

He slowly stood up and walked to the bathroom without saying a word.

A few seconds later — a loud scream echoed.

"EYAAAAA!"

He came back, breathing heavily, trying to process everything.

After hearing the full story again, he realized… what he did was a complete crashout.

But one thing bothered him?(SINU)

His strength yesterday was not normal.

It felt like something wild was inside him — like a trapped beast.

He took a deep breath and asked,

"What about college?"

SINU suddenly snapped his fingers.

"Oh! I forgot to tell you. Since you left early, the college announced one week sick leave for first-year students."

Ashraf's face lit up instantly.

"YAYYYY!"

For a moment, he forgot everything and just enjoyed the idea of sleep.

Suddenly, the door burst open.

JAKE rushed inside, looking serious.

"Ashraf… there's a big problem."

Ashraf sat up quickly.

"What happened?"

JAKE spoke fast.

"The students from HAMPSHIRE UNIVERSITY are furious. They are searching for you everywhere. It is not safe for you to stay here."

SINU suddenly remembered.

"Wait… that final-year guy is your friend, right? Ja… Je… JAMES! Call him now!"

JAKE immediately called JAMES SAMEJIMA and explained everything.

JAMES calmly told them to come straight to their college hostel.

JAKE started his bike. Ashraf sat behind him. SINU sat in the middle.

The road was empty.

Suddenly, a dog jumped in front of them.

JAKE swerved — too late.

They crashed into a car.

The car stopped with a loud screech.

The driver stepped out, his face red with anger.

They immediately apologized.

"We're sorry, sir. A dog came in front—"

He cut them off.

He began shouting and insulting them.

"If this is what your family produced, they should be ashamed!"

SINU stayed quiet.

Slowly, he took out his phone and took a photo of the man and his car.

He sent it to someone.

Then he made one phone call.

Within minutes, police arrived.

The driver started complaining loudly, calling them reckless and arrogant.

But instead of arresting the boys…

The police arrested HIM.

They showed him an old warrant.

Charges:

• Tax evasion

• Trading fraud

• Child abuse

Two of these were already proven.

The police took him away. His car was seized.

One officer looked at SINU and said,

"Thank you for informing us."

The boys looked at each other, shocked but relieved.

They continued toward the hostel.

The bike stopped a few meters away from the gate.

ASHRAF looked up.

Five students stood in front of them, blocking the entrance.

Behind them, nearly fifty more students filled the road. Some held sticks. Some cracked their knuckles. Some just smiled.

The air felt heavy.

ASHRAF's head throbbed. His body felt weak, but his chest burned with anger.

He closed his eyes.

For one second.

Then—

snap.

The sound echoed.

The world slowed down.

Not fully frozen.

Just slow.

Very slow.

The five students in front moved like they were stuck in water. Their mouths opened, but their shouts stretched and broke. Dust rose from the ground and stayed in the air.

ASHRAF's head screamed in pain.

His vision shook.

Warm blood ran from his nose.

He felt dizzy.

But he stayed standing.

JAKE stepped forward.

He moved normally.

No—

faster than normal.

The first student tried to punch him.

JAKE turned slightly. The punch missed.

JAKE hit the man's throat with the side of his hand.

A sharp crack.

The man dropped, grabbing his neck, unable to breathe.

The second student rushed forward.

JAKE kicked his knee.

The knee bent the wrong way.

The student screamed as he fell.

The third swung a stick.

JAKE raised his arm. The stick hit his forearm.

Pain flashed across JAKE's face.

He didn't stop.

JAKE grabbed the stick, pulled the man close, and smashed his head into the gate.

Metal rang loudly.

The man collapsed.

The fourth student jumped at him from the side.

JAKE felt arms wrap around his chest.

JAKE slammed his head backward.

A loud crunch.

The grip loosened.

The body fell.

The fifth student froze, eyes wide with fear.

JAKE walked toward him.

The student tried to run.

JAKE kicked his back.

He hit the ground and didn't move.

The slowed world began to return.

Time started moving again.

The fifty students behind them finally understood what happened.

Fear spread through the crowd.

ASHRAF's legs shook.

He couldn't hold it anymore.

Time snapped back to normal.

ASHRAF tried to stay standing.

His legs failed him.

He dropped to one knee, breathing hard. For a second, he thought he might pass out.

JAKE stood in front of him, chest rising fast.

His arm trembled. Blood dripped from his knuckles.

The five students lay on the ground.

No one from the fifty dared to step forward.

The gate stood open.

JAKE looked back at ASHRAF.

"Move," he said.

They entered the hostel.

The three of them entered the hostel.

Inside stood KUMAGAMI TAKEMOTTO, the college president, furious.

Before he could speak, JAMES SAMEJIMA arrived.

The moment he stepped in — silence fell.

Even KUMAGAMI stood straight.

Suddenly, the Vice President MARCUS HANAE rushed in.

"Leader… there is a call from the President of Hampshire University."

JAMES answered.

On the other side was RAYAN MARSHALL.

His voice was cold and sharp.

He blamed Ashraf for everything and said,

"I will Cancel the treaty."

This treaty had been in place for three years.

JAMES calmly asked for a moment.

RAYAN agreed and hung up.

Everyone expected JAMES to be angry.

But instead… he smiled.

A rare, calm smile.

He walked toward Ashraf slowly.

"I am happy today. Do you know why?"

Ashraf stayed silent.

JAMES continued,

"For four years, no one dared to challenge Hampshire. We were called the weakest university."

His voice grew stronger.

"Today… RAYAN didn't call out of anger."

He paused.

"He called out of fear."

Then he revealed the truth.

"I was the original President…"

He paused.

"Of THE ASHRAHAN UNIVERSITY."

For three years, no one stood against Hampshire.

But now… things are changing.

JAMES looked at Ashraf and said firmly:

"One of you… could become the future president of this university."

On the roof of Hampshire Hostel, RAYANMARSHALL stood smoking a cigarette.

Cold wind blew across the rooftop.

In front of him stood GARRY and 50 other students — stripped to their underwear, shivering.

Ice-cold water poured over them continuously.

RAYAN's eyes were dark and angry.

"If you cannot stand like a man… then die

Don't ruin the reputation of MY UNIVERSITY."

He and his Vice President walked slowly over their fingers as punishment.

RAYAN whispered

"Fear keeps a university clean."

Then RAYAN ordered,

"Keep pouring water for one hour. Don't let them dry even for a second."

After that, he took out his phone.

He called JAMES SAMEJIMA.

Not to threaten.

To talk business.
