Clark's expression turned somber upon hearing the news. His mother, Martha, approached and gently patted his shoulder, saying, "Clark, go. Respond publicly to the doubts people have; this is what Superman should do. Don't be afraid—do what you need to do."
Clark nodded, deciding to attend the hearing and provide the public with the answers they sought.
Meanwhile, Bruce was relentless in his pursuit to obtain the Kryptonite. After meticulous planning, he successfully infiltrated Lex's company and retrieved the Kryptonite from the vault. Shortly after Bruce left, Lex Luthor rushed to the vault, only to find the Kryptonite missing. What remained was a bat-shaped throwing star in the box!
Luthor picked up the throwing star, a cold smirk playing on his lips: "Everything is within my grasp." He looked at the Batarang, eagerly anticipating the showdown between Batman and Superman. The real spectacle was about to begin.
Elsewhere, Alex Carter and Selina were enjoying a meal together, chatting and savoring delicious food while watching a movie. Realizing she couldn't escape, Selina decided to relax and enjoy the feast with Alex. The delicacies from the System Store were top-notch. Coupled with Selina's hunger, she quickly and elegantly participated in the meal while engaging in conversation.
Alex, however, ate only a small portion. "Are you a reincarnated hungry ghost?!" she teased.
"There's no poison in the food, is there? With your power, there shouldn't be any need," Selina replied, skeptical.
Alex rolled her eyes playfully but didn't respond.
"Skynet, I need you to create a 3D animated introduction for me," Alex commanded mentally. From now on, whenever she needed to introduce herself, she could simply show this animated short film, sparing her the repetition of verbal introductions each time.
"Yes, Master."
"This animated short film must fully showcase my positive traits: diligence, bravery, willingness to sacrifice for justice, perseverance, benevolence, wisdom, quick wit, resilience, unwavering determination…" Alex listed confidently.
"I have never seen such a shameless person," the System retorted, unable to hold back after Alex had spoken for so long. "You have nothing to do with 'diligence.' You're idle all day. Hurry up and accumulate points! I've discovered a new world."
Recognizing the playful jest, Skynet cleverly replied, "Understood, Master. I know what to say and what not to say."
"Oh my, really? System," Alex chuckled at the System's remark. "Skynet, go ahead and create it. Notify me immediately when it's done; I need to review it."
Before long, Skynet completed Alex's self-introduction video using advanced character modeling, scene design, lighting rendering, and other technologies. Alex was very satisfied after watching it, only asking Skynet for a few simple modifications.
"Selina, here's what you tried to take earlier," Alex said, returning the jewelry Selina had attempted to steal. Skynet had investigated the background of the jewelry's owner, uncovering their involvement in illegal activities such as arms dealing and money laundering.
"Return it to me?" Selina accepted the jewelry cautiously, her heart filled with surprise and uncertainty. She initially thought that Alex, residing in a luxurious villa, would look down on her, a righteous thief, with disdain. She expected to be caught and then excessively toyed with, as she had seen too much of society's dark side and was accustomed to imagining the worst.
But talking with Alex made Selina realize that her words contained no contempt or discrimination, nor any intention to harm. Selina, much like in the movies, was a righteous thief who only stole from the rich. She took wealth from greedy and immoral tycoons to help the poor, never harming ordinary people.
With her excellent skills and keen insight, Selina successfully broke into many powerful mansions, stealing the rare treasures they hoarded. She used only a portion of the treasure for living expenses, and most of the money went to the poor who needed help. Selina liked to act under the cover of night, transforming into Catwoman to punish the greedy and aid the weak.
Her reputation among the poor was excellent, and many who received her help were deeply grateful for her righteous deeds. However, the wealthy who suffered losses intensely despised Catwoman. They published Selina's known criminal information online, forcing her to live in hiding in the shadows of society.
Regarding Selina's actions, the critical faction online believed this was illegal and criminal behavior that should be punished by law. They argued that Catwoman committed vigilantism and theft under the guise of "justice." Regardless of the motive or purpose, violating the law is wrong. "Thank you for the meal. I'll repay you if I get the chance. I feel like you know me very well," Selina said, pursing her lips as if wanting to ask something.
"See for yourself," Alex knew Selina was interested in her, so she gave Skynet a command: "Skynet, play my introduction video."
"Yes, Master."
Selina watched as a lifelike 3D animated projection appeared before her—a character strikingly similar to Alex, introduced as the video's protagonist in a storytelling manner. Selina became completely engrossed, her mind filled with shock, excitement, and a touch of doubt: "Superwoman? Human Goddess? Justice, invincibility, and even Crossing? This is too outrageous!"
Selina watched as if it were an exciting novel, unconsciously immersing herself in it. Even after the video ended, she remained in a daze for a long time. Skynet's storytelling and video production skills were impressive.
After the video, Selina couldn't calm her emotions for a long time. "This video introduction could be written into a million-word novel!" she exclaimed, then turned her head to see that Alex had already left at some unknown point.
"Superwoman is like me? She also likes to fight for justice at night? Did she go out to fight crime at this hour?"
