I couldn't believe it ...i finally had a Job...a fine job at that! I was hired to be the Secretary of the renowned Cassian Holt! CEO of the famed Holt enterprise.
If you're wondering how big is the Holt industries? They literally own every major Company in the City and are literally running most of the industries in the city so yes!...You could say i became the Secretary to the most influential man in this city.
And for the first time in months...i thought of my mother...i wondered how proud she would have been.
I was three years old when i got seperated from my family by death, my mom and my Dad both died in a car accident while on thier way to a family function. Not long after that i was taken in by my Aunt's Family and that was when my rain of misfortune started.
It was a dark time of my life and i sighed and closed my eyes
'Do not worry Sophia, remember you are in a better place right now' i muttered, these were words i said to myself whenever the dark thoughts gloomed in, A recommendation from my therapist...when i could afford therapy.
My phone buzzed, A notification had just entered..i swiftly picked it up to check and to my greatest surprise...it was a Credit alert notification.. something i hadn't seen in Months. I swiftly tapped it to check and there it was 200,000 sitting on my bank account..a visually appealing amount of money that made a 100 percent change in my bank account balance.
I read the description,
"Bonus from Holt enterprises" it said and i stared eyes widened at my phone, it was too good to be true.
'This instantly changes everything' i said to myself as i hopped out of the bed..i could literally pay off my debts, pay rent, pay bills and have a Change of Wardrobe and there would still be a fine Quarter of the money remaining.
Immediately without a second thought i jerked into action!. My first task was to pay off my debts and so i did, logging into every loan app i had and paying it all off..it took a while but i was done! I was officially debt free and best part it only took me 20,000 to pay it off. I still had a huge sum at my disposal.
Second was to pay off my bills. I logged into the Apartment's paying website
'Oh my God' i gasped as i saw my bill, i had an outstanding balance of 10,000 to be paid.. instantly, I understood the Landlord's plight..i would hate me too. I quickly paid it off adding an extra sum to appease the landlord.. I wouldn't be living there anymore.. Company's policy required i relocated to thier Quarters
I glanced around the room, there was really nothing worth relocating with here..other than a few photos and inheritances. I quickly began to pack up.. preparing for my relocation as i read previously in the contract that it was going to be an instant one and so that meant that i had limited time.
As i picked up my valuables i heard a knock at the door..i smiled....my prediction was right!. I instantly went to the door to confirm...and to my greatest pleasure i was right!. It was the landlord standing with wearing a curious look on his face.
'Ah!hem..uh....i saw your payment' he said awkwardly, fiddling his fingers.
'Yes sir, thank you for everything' i said smiling.
'Uh...so i take it that you got a job?'
'Yes, a very fine one at that'
'You didn't have to pay that much... You have other bills to pay'. But i chuckled, if only he knew that it was relatively light work to pay this off....I appreciated his benevolence and kidness inwardly.
'Dont worry take it as a parting gift' i said and i saw his eyes widen
'You are leaving?'
'Yes, soon'
'When?'
'Tommorow' A scilence followed and he smiled.
'Good luck sophie' he said finally and left.
I closed the door and resumed packing.
I still had a long list of things to do... But i could say that I finally found the light at the end of the tunnel.
