Robert Iger's luxurious villa is located in Malibu, where many wealthy individuals own properties.
However, Gilbert can't afford a house there just yet. For now, he still lives in his old apartment, occasionally staying at his old man's place.
When Gilbert arrived, Robert Iger was already waiting outside the door, showing genuine sincerity.
"Hello, Director Gilbert, good to see you again," Robert Iger greeted him with a warm hug.
This enthusiasm made Gilbert a bit uncomfortable, but thankfully, Robert Iger's embrace was brief.
"Long time no see, Bob, you still look great!" Gilbert complimented him in return.
"And who is this?" Robert Iger noticed Cameron Diaz, who was draped in Gilbert's suit jacket.
Gilbert introduced them: "Bob, this is Cameron Diaz, a friend of mine, an aspiring actress in Los Angeles.
Michelle, this is Robert Iger, the CEO of Touchstone Pictures."
"Hello, beautiful lady, welcome to tonight's party," Robert Iger offered a hand kiss.
Cameron Diaz seemed delighted: "It's an honor to be here."
Robert Iger led them into the villa, which was already bustling with people, mostly mid-to-high-level management from Walt Disney.
Upon seeing Gilbert, everyone greeted him with professional, warm smiles.
After some polite small talk, Robert Iger and Gilbert found a small room to discuss business.
Gilbert turned to Cameron Diaz, who was by his side, and said, "You go ahead, Bob and I have something to talk about."
"Okay," Cameron Diaz nodded, preparing to mingle in the main hall.
"Wait..." Gilbert called out to Cameron Diaz again.
"Hmm?" Cameron Diaz turned back, curious.
"Don't drink any alcohol. You'll be driving us back," Gilbert instructed.
Cameron Diaz nodded, indicating she understood.
After Cameron Diaz left, Gilbert and Robert Iger sat down to talk.
Business and Prospects
"Gilbert, our distribution capabilities at Disney are just as strong as Universal Pictures'.
Plus, our live-action film business isn't our strongest suit, so if you come to us, you'll be our main star," Robert Iger's pitch was very enticing.
Main star? Sounds like he thinks I'm working in a brothel! Gilbert mused inwardly.
But on the surface, Gilbert smiled and said, "I'm sure you've heard about my demanding terms. Can Disney agree to them?"
"Don't worry," Robert Iger said, "Mr. Eisner said he's open to discussing any terms."
It was good that they were willing to agree. The two clinked glasses, a tacit agreement reached. The rest would be handled by their agents and the film company.
"By the way, do you want to give Michelle a role?" Robert Iger asked.
After getting more comfortable, Robert Iger also started using Cameron Diaz's middle name.
"It depends. If she doesn't meet my requirements, she won't be in the film."
Robert Iger felt relieved. This showed that Gilbert was a man of principles and wouldn't let external matters or women influence his judgment.
The small party concluded, with both parties getting what they wanted.
After seeing Gilbert and Cameron Diaz off, Robert Iger returned to his study and called Michael Eisner.
"Hello, Michael, it's settled."
Michael Eisner's voice came from the other end: "I hope he won't disappoint us."
"He definitely won't, you can rest assured," Robert Iger was very confident that Gilbert would succeed again.
An Evening with Cameron Diaz
The car pulled up to Cameron Diaz's apartment building, and she extended an invitation: "Want to come up for a cup of coffee?"
"Sure," Gilbert hadn't had much to drink, but it still wasn't a good idea to drive back, so he agreed.
He followed Cameron Diaz upstairs. There was no elevator, so they had to take the stairs.
Watching Cameron Diaz walk ahead, Gilbert had to admit that the future Hollywood darling, while perhaps not having the most beautiful face, certainly had a great figure.
Entering Cameron Diaz's apartment, she changed out of her gown; after all, it was rented and needed to be returned.
Then she put on some comfortable, form-fitting loungewear.
It was instant coffee again. Perhaps because she hadn't had any alcohol at the party, Cameron Diaz poured herself a glass of red wine and sat by the window with Gilbert, chatting.
"Are you going to work with Disney?" Cameron Diaz asked.
"Yeah, they've pretty much agreed to my terms. The rest is just details," Gilbert said, sipping his instant coffee and thinking about when he could get some tea from his hometown.
He had loved drinking tea in his previous life and had grown up on it.
His hometown actually produced coffee beans, but they never gained the same fame as their tea.
Cameron Diaz's face showed hope as she looked at Gilbert, hesitant, wanting to speak but not daring to.
Seeing her expression, Gilbert knew exactly what the girl in front of him was thinking.
However, he still asked, "Did you enroll in an acting class like I suggested?"
"Yes, yes," Cameron Diaz nodded earnestly. "I've been taking acting lessons."
Knowing Cameron Diaz's future trajectory, and the idea of being the one to discover the future Hollywood sweetheart was quite interesting, Gilbert decided to give her a chance.
Coincidentally, this project also needed attractive young men and women.
"How about this: have your agent submit your resume and participate in the audition. If you meet my requirements, I'll prioritize you," Gilbert said.
Cameron Diaz's face lit up, and she nodded vigorously like a pecking chick, "Don't worry, I'll definitely work hard."
They talked about other things, and Gilbert, with his inherent humor and wit, made Cameron Diaz laugh heartily.
"It's getting late, I should probably go," Gilbert checked his watch; it was about time to head back.
Cameron Diaz stood up with him and persuaded, "You've had some drinks, you shouldn't drive back. Why don't you just stay here tonight?"
Gilbert looked at Cameron Diaz's face. With a little wine, her cheeks were flushed, making her look captivating.
Her sparkling eyes, combined with her lovely figure, surely no man could resist this scene.
The two drew closer and closer, eventually embracing.
Cameron Diaz, at 5'9" without heels, seemed petite next to the 6'1" Gilbert.
"Hey, Michelle, you're truly captivating..." Gilbert held Cameron Diaz's soft waist.
Cameron Diaz's long eyelashes fluttered, just like in Jay Chou's song, batting at Gilbert as if taking a photo.
They were both experienced, and after exchanging breaths, they were panting.
Then, they eagerly started practicing yoga together, leading to a "30,000-word" event.
Practicing yoga is tiring and makes you sweat easily.
After their workout, Cameron Diaz collapsed onto Gilbert, her voice filled with satisfaction and exhaustion.
"That was amazing, Gilbert, you're truly a yoga master."
Gilbert looked innocent: "Darling, that's not fair. Your yoga skills are just too abundant."
Cameron Diaz was delighted to hear this and whispered in Gilbert's ear, "Shall we do another session?"
"Of course," Gilbert wouldn't refuse such a good offer.
That night, they engaged in another "60,000-word" yoga session, their workout spanning the bathroom, the window, and the table.
They ascended to "Heaven," becoming one...
