"Shisui."
Shinju's voice echoed through the empty training space.
"Your Kotoamatsukami (Distinguished Heavenly Gods) is a jutsu that can change the course of a war… even rewrite an entire era of history."
Shisui listened in silence, his gaze calm and focused.
"This technique has always had two fatal limits," Shinju continued. "First, after you cast it once, it takes more than ten years to recover. Second, it can only affect a single target at a time."
Shisui nodded. Those two shackles had been the greatest regrets of his life.
He possessed the most powerful genjutsu in the world, yet its cost and restrictions meant that there were countless things he had wanted to fix, but could only watch slip through his fingers.
"The first regret," Shinju said calmly, "was already resolved when you were resurrected. Today, I'll erase the second one for you."
His consciousness sank into the enhancement panel within his mind, the lines of data unfolding like a vast star map. Shinju's gaze locked onto the section labeled with Uchiha Shisui's name.
Dozens of enhancement options were listed there. Without the slightest hesitation, he chose the most crucial—and the most expensive—one.
[Enhancement Option Two: Kotoamatsukami – Multiple Causality]
[Effect: Upgrade Kotoamatsukami's single-target causal interference into a multi-target interference. The user can simultaneously implant identical or different subconscious directives into multiple targets. The maximum number of targets is directly linked to the user's ocular power.]
[Required Correction Points: 80,000,000]
"System, execute enhancement."
[Ding! Enhancement selected: Kotoamatsukami – Multiple Causality. Total cost: 80,000,000 correction points. Enhancement beginning!]
The moment the prompt sounded, the entire training space shifted.
The star-filled "sky" above them began to spin violently, the constellations stretching into countless streams of light that cascaded down and poured into Shisui's body.
His body trembled hard once. He shut his eyes tightly but didn't let out a single sound.
His chakra surged, and his ocular power climbed higher once more, surpassing even his peak state from before he had awakened his Mangekyo Sharingan (Kaleidoscope Copy Wheel Eye).
At the same time, an ocean of new information flooded his mind.
All of it was about Kotoamatsukami.
Originally, his Kotoamatsukami was like a single arrow:
A single command.
A single firing.
A single target.
Once fired, the arrow shattered, and it would take at least ten years for it to reform.
That one arrow could only ever carve one irresistible brand of will into one person. Even if he stored the eye inside a crow to trigger it later, the essence didn't change—still a single arrow, a single target.
Now, that feeling was completely different.
His understanding of Kotoamatsukami was being rebuilt from the ground up. What he felt in his hands was no longer a single, ultimate shot… but an entire, intricate system.
He was no longer bound to something like one grand order of "Protect Konoha."
He could simultaneously plant ten completely different subconscious directives into ten different people.
He could make five people "unconditionally loyal to the Hokage," while making the other five "dedicate the rest of their lives to researching medical ninjutsu."
If he wished, he could even aim at an entire army of thousands, and—as long as their wills weren't exceptionally strong—plant a single unified subconscious order:
"Abandon resistance. Lay down all your weapons."
This was no longer just genjutsu.
This was causal interference at the level of group consciousness.
The enhancement lasted a full ten minutes.
When it finally ended, the Mangekyo pattern in Shisui's eyes had not changed shape; it was still the four-bladed windmill.
He instinctively activated his ocular power, feeling the Mangekyo spin faster and faster in his pupils.
The connection between him and Kotoamatsukami had become incredibly tight.
It no longer felt like a forbidden ultimate technique that demanded a colossal price just to be used once. Instead, it felt more like a high-cost but "normal" genjutsu—something he could use whenever it was required, as long as he could bear the chakra drain.
"Lord Shinju…"
Shisui tried his best to calm his racing heart, but the tremor in his voice still betrayed how shaken he was.
"With this ability, I could, for you… control an entire great nation without shedding a single drop of blood. In truth, just seizing their top leaders would be enough."
This wasn't arrogance.
It was a precise, sober evaluation of his new power.
Shinju was very satisfied with the result.
An investment of eighty million correction points in exchange for a strategic-level weapon that could rewrite the balance of the entire ninja world—there was no way this deal could be called a loss.
"Want to test it?" he asked.
Shisui immediately straightened, his tone respectful.
"Please give the order, Lord Shinju."
Shinju didn't have him try it on people.
Instead, he pointed to the far end of the training ground.
There, several training dummies stood in a row, each one forged from the hardest chakra-conductive metal in the ninja world. They were built to withstand direct hits from most S-rank ninjutsu.
"Don't use it on humans yet," Shinju said. "Try giving those three dummies the command: 'Attack each other until complete destruction.' I want to see whether your interference now affects both living and non-living targets."
"Yes."
Shisui turned to face the trio of metal dummies standing silently several hundred meters away.
The Mangekyo pattern in his eyes rotated once, slow and subtle.
There was no earth-shaking aura, no flash of light, no visible genjutsu ripple.
And then, something extremely bizarre happened.
Those three metal constructs—lifeless things that should have had no will and no consciousness—actually "moved."
Their movements were stiff and unnatural, every gesture looking slightly off, but every motion carried terrifying destructive strength. If an ordinary jonin had been standing there, they likely wouldn't have lasted more than a few exchanges.
The dummy on the left suddenly swung its metal arm in a vicious arc, its fist slamming into the head of the middle dummy.
Clang!
The deafening impact echoed through the empty training space.
The middle dummy's head caved in deeply under the blow. At the same time, it lifted one leg and kicked the left dummy hard in the chest, sending it tumbling backward.
The dummy on the right simply charged in and wrapped its arms around the middle dummy in a brutal bear hug, paying no attention to any "form" or "technique," only trying to crush it into scrap by sheer force.
They followed Shisui's order perfectly.
Attack each other.
Until total destruction.
There wasn't even the slightest deviation from the instruction. Shinju was extremely pleased.
The crash of metal on metal sounded again and again.
They smashed their fists and arms into one another with reckless abandon, caving in the armor plates that had once been proud proof of their durability.
The savage mutual beating went on for nearly a full minute.
By the end, the three once-indestructible dummies had all been reduced to twisted scrap, scattered across the floor in a heap of broken metal parts.
Shisui watched it all in silence and finally drew in a long, steadying breath.
No one understood better than he did just how terrifying the weapon now resting in his hands truly was.
This was a strategic-class causal-law weapon, enough to overturn the entire existing order of the ninja world.
And from the moment of its birth, it acknowledged only one master.
He turned back toward Shinju.
Then, Shisui dropped to his knees and bowed low, his forehead almost touching the ground.
"Thank you, Lord Shinju, for remaking me."
"I know very well that everything I have now… all of my power… comes from you. From this moment on, wherever you point, that is the direction I will move in."
Shisui's deterrent power had multiplied hundreds of times over.
He was no longer just a powerful ninja.
No longer just the legend of "Shunshin no Shisui."
He had become something else entirely—
An invisible "nation destroyer."
