Chapter 28 - Gaze of the Godborn

In the endless sea of the Void, where countless worlds drifted like shimmering stars, a single figure stood upon a golden platform — a being born not of flesh, but of divinity.

He came from one of the Supreme Worlds, those exalted realms that stood at the pinnacle of the void's hierarchy. In his world, every newborn was a demigod, carrying within them a spark of divine nature.

From birth, they comprehended fragments of their own divinity; through cultivation of source energy — the purest form of spiritual essence — they prepared for the Great Subjugation: a sacred war where worlds were conquered, domains were claimed, and divine flames were ignited to ascend to godhood.

But not all ascended.

He was one who failed.

He had fought to subjugate a lesser world — only to lose it to a rival. In his world, failure was not forgiven. The victorious became gods; the defeated, their eternal slaves.

But he was unwilling to kneel.

So he paid a terrible price to the Void itself — offering fragments of his divine source — to be exiled beyond his world's reach, reborn in the endless wilderness of the void. A chance to claim another world before it was taken.

And thus, he arrived outside a new world.

---

The vast sphere before him pulsed with vitality. Its laws intertwined like threads of luminous silk. Life flourished across its continents; its internal world-core shimmered faintly with power. Thirty-four other foreign cultivators floated nearby — beings from other realms, each radiating unique Dao fluctuations.

He observed them briefly, then turned his gaze to the world again, his golden eyes narrowing.

"…Impressive," he murmured. "A just a newborn world and it already have tier 2 living beings. "

He waved a hand, and a shimmering crystal — his Divine Artifact — emerged in his palm. Its surface was inscribed with countless runes of faith and devotion.

With a thought, he sent it drifting toward the world. The artifact pierced through its barrier and sank deep into its inner reality, embedding itself in the web of the world's Dao.

A faint smile tugged at his lips.

"Pity this world lacks the Supreme Law of Faith," he said. "Once I subjugate it, I will need to nurture that law myself. Still… perhaps it holds fragments. That would make things easier."

He crossed his arms and waited, watching the flow of void energy as the world began to subtly shift. Moments later, his eyes widened slightly.

A new vibration rippled through the void — a pulse unlike the others.

The world's core shimmered, and a tenth light joined its rotation.

"…Faith?" he whispered.

Then, a deep, amused laugh rolled out of him. "Hah! So during its creation, it did absorb part of the Faith Law! Fortunate indeed. Now that the cultivators within and their followers have activated it, the Law itself awakens. Perfect. I tread the Path of Faith — this will make my conquest far smoother. Once I claim this world, its foundation will merge easily with my own domain."

He extended his divine sense, probing the newly born law. "Now then… what version of Faith Law has this world manifested, I wonder?"

His expression turned thoughtful.

"Does it work through acts — hunting provide faith to god of hunting and healing provide faith to god of healing

Or through worship — where only prayer and belief feed the gods?

I've heard of hundreds of Faith variants across the void."

A slight shrug.

"No matter. If it doesn't align with my path, I shall modify it. The base structure is here — and that is enough."

Not for even 1 sec he thought that the Arin created the law from scratch as world will can't make them from scratch, they can just with the help of iys beings nurture and awaken law fragments they got at their birth. Imagination of intelligent beings influence the developing law leading to different versions of it.

What nobody knows, not even arin that he is more than a world will.

---

As time passed, the world stirred again. Its space twisted, splitting into two layers — one visible to all, and another hidden beneath the veil of divine secrecy. Even with his godborn eyes, he could only sense a portion of that second layer, not see it directly.

His divine mind began calculating.

"…To fully perceive that hidden side, I will need authority from at least ten percent of this world's intelligent population. Only then will the world acknowledge me enough to reveal its deeper layer."

He paused, a flicker of anticipation crossing his gaze.

"As for deciphering the true form of its Faith Law… I will need at least one percent of the intelligent beings to align with my divine nature — to follow my path of faith."

He looked down upon the world once more, golden eyes filled with ambition and cold certainty.

A godborn who had fallen from grace — now staring at a world ripe for conquest.

> "This time," he murmured, "I will not fail."
