Chapter 117 - The last stand of the Longbottom

I transfigure myself perfectly into a copy of Lily Evans. Every detail matches—the way her hair falls, the soft curve of her jaw, even the faint freckles across her nose. With this disguise, I have the advantage of surprise; they trust her, and trust is a weapon I intend to wield.

I apparate to the Longbottom residence, the quiet evening making it all the easier. Stepping through the door as Lily, I see Alice and Frank Longbottom preparing for some protective charms. They glance up, relief crossing their faces, believing me to be their ally.

Their relief is my opportunity. I raise my wand with the calm precision of someone who has mastered centuries of magic. Dark, intricate spells ripple from the tip of my wand, forming barriers and strikes they aren't prepared for. Alice sends out a volley of magical plants, their vines writhing and aiming to ensnare me, but with a flick of my wrist, they curl harmlessly back, defeated by my power. Icicles form from the air itself, spinning around me like an aura of frost, forcing them to retreat behind protective charms.

I don't need to kill them to prove my dominance. A complex web of black lightning arcs across the room, freezing the floor and sending them stumbling. Ice walls rise, sealing their exits. My control of elemental magic is flawless; they realize quickly that their attacks are ineffective. Every counterspell they attempt is anticipated, every maneuver I had already accounted for.

Finally, I step closer, my voice calm and clear, echoing with authority. "You see now," I say, still in Lily's form, "how easily the old rules bend before true power. Resistance is… futile."

They nod, their defiance fading under the sheer weight of my presence. I allow them to escape—not out of mercy, but as a demonstration. Let them live to tell the story of how easily someone like me can turn the tide, and let the world remember that even those who think themselves safe are not beyond my reach.
