[The scene shows a trembling child,who just woke up after having a terrible nightmare,this has been going on for the past six months and it's starting to get worse,she ran to her mother's room like always]
Clara:
Mom,mom ,mom(runs into her mother's room) he's going astray!!... he's... he's going astray.....
Mara:
(Alarmed)Who is going astray?calm down honey...A nightmare again?(Asks the child,who is about 10 years of age)
Clara:
Yes Mom and I'm getting more scared(sobs)i...i... can't sleep alone anymore a mom(breaks down in tears) I'm scared
Dreck:
It's going to be fine baby (pets her head)
{Dreck is mara's husband, Clara's stepdad, even though he is not her real father no one who is not close to their family could know,he treated her like his own daughter,he loves,cares and trusts her a lot.His ex wife died in a crucial accident which made him a widower for about 4 years before he met mara, he's a medical doctor}
Clara:
Dad, I'm... I'm scared,alot... I'm so terrified(sniffs back her tears, acting little around her dad)
Dreck:
Calm down honey and tell me what it was about (he said softly and gently)
Clara:
(She looks into his eyes with tears brimming in it threatening to fall)I...i can't.. remember...to scared to remember (hides her face in his chest)
Mara;
Why don't you calm down darling and tell us a little about it,hm? even if it's a little you remember?(She stroke her hair in a gentle and motherly manner)
Clara;
(Looks up at her dad)
Dreck;
(Who has been looking down at her the whole time,offers a gentle nod)
Go on darling, I'm here for you (place a gentle peck on her forehead)
Clara;
In my dream i...i saw this woman brimming with hatred saying she'll do anything to tear both mom and dad apart(she looks at her parents to be sure they are listenin)
Mara & dreck;
Go on (they said in unison)
Clara;
(She gathered her courage and continue)And then suddenly from nowhere came another woman and pushed a man who i don't really know but you mom,kept calling his name in my dream to turn back,the woman kept pushing him to a wrong direction full of bushes and thorns while another road that was clear was available but she kept pushing him and he kept going believing and trusting her(she looks up at her mother)the man really resembles me mom,the resemblance between us is so striking (she muttered trailing off as if figuring why she saw her male version in her dream)
Dreck:
What happened next in the dream honey?
Clara;
Dad i remember my self standing still and crying profusely,you were pregnant in the dream,i was trembling and so ....so sad and then the old woman threw mom in a very dark world, that was when i woke up (she starts to cry again)
Mara;
Shush.... Calm down ... it's okay (pulls her closer from her father's warmth into hers)
Dreck:
(He sighed deeply) It's going to be fine alright? I'm going to call the pastor in the morning and tell him all about it okay?(He said to both of them)
Mara&clara:
Okay(they both nodded)
Dreck;
Clara,come on,go back to sleep, it's 3:00 already you need to wake up early for school tomorrow, sleep here with us alright?
Clara:
(Cleans her face) Okay daddy (she went inside the adjoined bathroom to wash off her face)
Mara:
(she whispers softly) I'm scared for her (tears gathered in her eyes)
Dreck:
It's okay baby, it's going to be fine(pets her softly)
Mara:
I just can't believe my past is reflecting on my child,i have known from the start that it is from that wicked woman, she destroyed my peace, home, family, happiness,my lif...
Dreck,:
(Cuts in) Shush....shhhh ..... your life is not destroyed, your family is not destroyed either,i am right here,clara is here for you as well, We're your family,okay? I've told you times unnumbered to stop going back to the past what's done is done and you've both moved on with your life (feigns anger)i do not like it at all..hm
Mara:
(,cleans off her tears)Sorry,i am sorry
Dreck:
I also warned you against apologising on every little thing
Mara;
(Smile) I just don't like seeing you annoyed
Dreck:
(Huffs and scoffs)
Like i can ever get annoyed at your cute face (squeeze her cheeks softly)
[They both burst into an hilarious laughter forgetting about their sadness and laughing it away]
Mara:
What if she loses her memory again with this bad dreams?(She suddenly spoke out after a sigh)
Dreck:
(Holds her hands gently)Babe i have always told you not to think negatively but positively, nothing will happen to her, okay?
Mara:
Okay (she nods softly and hugs her husband)
Dreck:
I think clara is taking too much time in the bathroom, go check up on her
{She goes into the bathroom to her surprise, young miss clara has slept off}
