Chapter 13 - Chaos System Activated

He slowly turned his head to look, and once again, fear gripped him. Up in the massive tree behind him, a colossal black snake was coiled around one of its enormous branches.

This snake was unlike anything he had ever seen. It was as large as a motorcycle and thick as a bucket. Its scales gleamed brightly in the sunlight, and its pupils were fixed on Raizen's eyes, flicking its tongue in and out.

The serpent began to uncoil from the branch, its body stretching taut while its gaze remained locked onto Raizen's.

Raizen's right leg instinctively shifted into a running position. He channeled all his strength into that leg, causing the ground beneath him to cave in slightly,a detail he didn't notice as his focus was entirely on the snake.

With a faint boom, Raizen shot off into the distance, covering ten meters in the blink of an eye.

The snake lunged forward like a bullet, transforming into a black blur. The branch it had been resting on snapped cleanly in two as it left.

Raizen concentrated solely on running; his speed was incredible,he covered ten meters with just three strides. Each step left deep impressions in the earth while the surrounding trees blurred past him. He could hear the faint rustling of leaves and hissing behind him.

"Why am I so unlucky? First a flower pot, then a shark, and now this goddamn snake! What kind of creature is that huge?" His heart pounded like a drum in his chest.

"I need to find a way to kill this thing; otherwise, it won't let me go! I have to find somewhere to trap it!"

Thoughts raced through Raizen's mind as he sprinted deeper into the forest, scanning for potential spots to ambush the snake.

The snake continued its relentless pursuit, like an unstoppable freight train, slithering across the ground with astonishing speed.

Its massive body uprooted small shrubs along its path but also allowed Raizen to widen their distance slightly. But still it will always closed up the distance between them. Raizen started running in a zigzag formation, using the surroundings trees as obstacles to gradually slow down the serpent.

Just then, Raizen spotted two boulders far ahead with enough space between them for him to crawl inside.

His eyes lit up with determination as he sprinted toward them without hesitation. Moments later, he stood before the boulders and dove between them, lying flat on his back with a sharp stick aimed upward.

Just then, the snake arrived at blinding speed, a dark blur with its mouth wide open as it descended upon Raizen.

Raizen grinned at this moment of opportunity. "Stupid snake! Take this!" With all his strength, he thrust the stick upward into the creature's mouth.

The impact sent shockwaves through both bodies; blood erupted from the snake's mouth as it crashed down onto the ground below.

The area became drenched in crimson liquid while debris flew everywhere, the once serene surroundings now lay in ruins: trees snapped apart and cracks formed across the earth amidst pools of blood.

The snake continued to hiss and thrash about, writhing in immense pain. It couldn't fathom that the two-legged creature could inflict such injury.

Raizen leaped from the space between the boulders, landing atop one of them. He bent forward, hands on his knees, breathing heavily as sweat dripped down his body.

"Is this snake ever going to die? It's remarkably tenacious!" Raizen muttered under his breath as he watched the snake still flailing around.

Snap!

At that moment, the stick lodged in the snake's mouth broke, causing it to stop thrashing and coil up again. Blood dripped from its massive jaws, and its pupils transformed into a furious crimson red.

A wave of dread washed over Raizen as he stood on the boulder; his expression turned pale.

"Oh no!"

Without a second thought, Raizen jumped off the boulder and sprinted deeper into the forest, disappearing in an instant.

The snake surged forward, blood continuing to pour from its mouth as it pursued Raizen. Enraged, it snapped trees in half and trampled everything in its path.

Other beasts encountered along its route were swept away by its tail, some crushed or torn apart before they even had time to react.

After a while, the snake slowed down and came to a halt. It raised its enormous head, eyes still blazing with anger and forked tongue flickering out as blood flowed like a fountain from its mouth.

Its gaze scanned the surroundings while it occasionally used its massive tail to uproot trees and hurl them aside.

Suddenly, a shadow descended upon it from above. The snake instinctively lifted its head; panic flickered briefly in its eyes as they constricted.

"Take this, you stupid snake!" Raizen shouted as he dropped down from a towering tree, wielding two sharp sticks aimed directly at the creature's eyes.

Puchiiii!

The sticks pierced through the snake's eyes with sickening precision.

ROARRRRR!

The serpent let out an agonizing roar as its eyes erupted in blood. Its colossal body thrashed wildly once more, bulldozing everything around it while continuing to scream in pain,a gruesome sight with bloody remnants staining its face.

Raizen barely had time to react before he was flung away like a rag doll. He crashed against a thick tree trunk with several cracking sounds echoing through the air upon impact.

"Damn! My back!" Pain shot through him like nothing he had ever experienced before,it felt almost soul-crushing.

He bit down hard on his lip to stave off unconsciousness while gritting his teeth against the agony flooding his body.

The metallic taste of blood filled his mouth as he crawled upright just enough to see that the snake was still thrashing about but noticeably slowing down.

His gaze fell upon a stick thick enough for him to use as a weapon; summoning all his strength despite excruciating pain, he grapped the stick and silently made his way to the serpent.

Creeping closer to the snake, Raizen positioned himself a few meters away, studying it intently for an opportunity.

The creature writhed in agony, its roars echoing through the air. While it looked quite pitiful, Raizen felt no sympathy; this beast was trying to devour him, and he had no intention of showing mercy.

Suddenly, an opening presented itself. Without hesitation, Raizen lunged forward and thrust his stick into the snake's exposed belly, where there were no protective scales.

The stick penetrated easily, and blood erupted from the wound, splattering all over him. For a brief moment, the snake froze before collapsing to the ground in a heap. Blood pooled beneath it, forming a crimson lake.

Raizen let out a sigh of relief but remained vigilant. He circled around the fallen creature and poked it cautiously; when there was no reaction, he finally allowed his tension to ease and collapsed on top of it.

His vision blurred as pain radiated throughout his body. He didn't want to move; this pain was unlike anything he had experienced before.

Unbeknownst to him, his entire body began to glow with a purple light as intricate runes appeared across his skin.

Meanwhile, the snake beneath him started to shrivel rapidly. The blood pooling on the ground transformed into crimson threads that flowed into his body while purple mist rose from the snake and seeped into him.
