Chapter 38 - Chapter VIII: Part III – Sol Niger

Chapter VIII: Around the Fur – Part III: Sol Niger

Phase I

What began as the Siam Aerospace Institute (SAI) had long since outgrown its name. In the pre-war era, it had been a sealed research complex—tasked with food & medicine production systems, space agricultural, and cost-efficient materials designed for long-term consumption aboard Allied interstellar colonies. It was never meant to be a home. It was meant to be a vault.

That changed with Dr. Thawan Kosmos.

A legendary Thai scientist and astronaut, she was among those offered a cryogenic seat during the Allied Interstellar Colony evacuation; however, she refused it, and while other elites fled the coming nuclear fallout, Dr. Kosmos chose to remain on Earth—fully aware of what that decision would cost.

Together with a small circle of trusted scientist colleagues and a handful of young students, she reshaped SAI from an access-restricted nuclear vault-ready Thorium-Powered research facility into something unprecedented: a self-sustaining, organized community. What had once been reserved for designated personnel became a refuge by necessity, then by design.

Through centuries of adaptation—governed democratically across successive generations—SAI endured. It did more than survive. The institute remained a safe refuge, not only preserving its founding ideology to revive the now lost technology known as Anti-Gravity Energy, but also applying its broader scientific knowledge to adapt to a world that had been fundamentally broken.

That ideology—centered on the reverse-engineering of Anti-Gravity Energy as the cornerstone of survival, sovereignty, and progress—was passed down, refined, and enforced across generations. While medicine, engineering, agriculture, and materials science sustained daily life, Anti-Gravity Energy remained the axis around which all long-term planning revolved.

Over time, SAI evolved beyond an institution into a fortified city-state, its people, governance, and continued existence bound to Anti-Gravity Energy as absolute power.

King Kadavar's private chamber was quiet enough that the soft hum of the ventilation lines could be heard behind the curved alloy walls. Warm amber light traced thin arcs along the upper edges of the room, making the chamber feel enclosed yet ceremonial. From Arika's angle—standing on the lower level before his desk—the King sat framed by a towering glass panel behind him, its surface drifting with faint star-map lines and constellations shifting like slow machinery.

He looked exactly the way people whispered about him—unadorned, grounded. Kadavar wore only the reinforced under-armor of his field suit, the kind meant for movement rather than display. No coat. No medals. Just the minimal fabric and plating that could keep pace with his life. His posture was steady, and his eyes stayed sharp despite the exhaustion he would never put into words.

"So," Kadavar said, tone edged with dry skepticism, "you bring urgent reports about two newly arrived visitors… who also happened to be your unit's saviors. A non-augmented boy and a girl."

Arika held her ground.

"We have no excuse, Your Majesty. We underestimated the creature. We suspect it may have been the result of one of the Demon Lord's commanders' experiments. Once SAI's lab provides a full breakdown, I'll report the details to you immediately."

Kadavar tapped the corner of the holographic pad on his desk.

A recording flickered to life—Kaodin mid-air, half his body wrapped in heat distortion, light bending around him. His right arm bristled with blazing fur marked by dark tiger-stripe patterns.

"The AI's combat logs show the boy's technique draws primarily from Muay Boran, with a smaller influence from Jeet Kune Do," Arika said. "But most of his movement rhythm still falls outside any formal style. The system estimated roughly sixty percent Muay Boran, eighteen percent Jeet Kune Do, and the remaining twenty-two percent marked as unidentifiable—likely his own instinctive adaptation."

She chose her next words carefully.

"If the boy can use techniques like this… is there any possibility CSDS has a hidden master who teaches these ancient arts?"

The King paused, rubbing his goatee as he considered the idea.

"That's impossible. If CSDS had someone with that level of mastery, you and I would've heard from a very certain someone long ago. And even if such a master existed… who would waste years teaching outdated combat forms? In this world, implants and guns outpace fist and bone."

Even as he said it, something in his expression tightened.

Hard to admit, the boy's pivoting, the way he redirects force… there's nothing outdated about it. His power distribution, his kinetic chain—none of it follows modern physics. The damage he's putting out could rival high-augmented elite guard levels or even…

On Kadavar's pad, the data file Arika had transmitted unfolded into a structured tactical report—

a rotating full-body projection of Kaodin's frame, muscle-stress indicators burning along his limbs, and an ability gauge mapping every burst of power captured during the fight.

ANOMALOUS ENERGY SIGNATURE

| Thermal Emission (Surface) | Baseline negligible; spikes to 410–690 °C during limb activation events |

| Internal Heat Activity | Non-physiological; sustained circulation detected; origin unclassified |

| Coloration Signature (Thermal) | Blue-chilled baseline aura; transitions to orange → red flare under stress or provocation |

| Cosmic Energy Trace | Faint, multi-spectral interference pattern; non-thermal; % intensity undeterminable |

| Circulation Locus (Anatomical Reference) | Recurrent convergence at lower-abdominal core region (unmapped organ-energy interaction) |

| Stability | Fluctuating; responsive to emotional and kinetic stimuli |

| Medical Risk | Unknown; non-replicable profile |

(1) Internal Heat Phenomenon

A sustained, non-physiological heat circulation is observed, initiating from the subject's core and propagating outward to the limbs prior to kinetic discharge. The epicenter corresponds anatomically with regions described in Ancient Siam medical archives as Gan Lom Pran (Center of Lompran), and in pre-war Taoist records as Dan Tian. These correlations are historical references only and remain unverified by modern SAI physiology.

(2) Cosmic-Class Energy Trace

SAI-exclusive sensors detect a faint, non-thermal, multi-technicolor energy circulation emanating from the same epicenter. The signal exhibits prismatic interference patterns and incomplete waveform continuity. Output magnitude cannot be quantified due to insufficient data and lack of comparable baselines. Origin remains undetermined.

The cosmic trace matches remnant records of the known energy in the Anti Gravity energy— missing archive, but does not match any known electromagnetic, nuclear, biochemical, or conventional energy classification within the SAI database. Its behavior suggests a structural anomaly rather than an active emission system. Preliminary pattern overlap indicates conceptual parallels with legacy Anti-Gravity Energy models; however, available data is inadequate to establish correlation or causation.

System Notice:

Further data input required. Analysis incomplete. Final evaluation pending additional observation cycles.

There's no explanation for this.

It shouldn't be real—there's no way this isn't AI-generated falsified footage. And yet… frame by frame, nothing misaligned.

Each strike the boy, in the footage, delivered hit like a hammer from the inside out, compressing the creature's body with concussive shockwaves that shouldn't have been possible. Red flame-like energy flared with every impact—not just light, but heat, blooming outward like jet exhaust detonating against meat flesh.

Yet, the boy, confirmed no implants. no biomechanical support. Just a kid, and then what about that strange unheard-of internal energy, something that should have only existed only in the pre-war computer-generated entertainment films and stuff. Moreover, the cosmic energy trace, another fragment of lost scientific data which was vanished alongside Anti-Gravity Energy since the founding period.

Unbelievable.

Even slowed to one-twentieth speed, the impact points blurred from sheer output. The system couldn't cleanly track a body that small, moving like that, without augments.

Then came the chart data.

The numbers alone were enough to make any sane scientist call it impossible. This boy wasn't just bending the rules of physics—he was basically playing it like a toy already at this point.

Or… unless the old rumor about a small number of mainland Chinese agents were consistently being dispatched here was true—and if Zhang Bo really was ex-MSS.

If the old wolf truly went AWOL, taking forbidden research with him…

Then a lot of things suddenly started to line up.

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________

The King's eyes narrowed, studied the data analysis, a frown settling in as he slowly lifted his vapor-cigar and took a long pull.

"What would you deduce about the boy's internal heat aura?"

Arika answered crisply.

"Classified as an irregularity, sir. The AI tagged it as localized thermal energy forming around his limbs before impact. The boy referred to it verbally as Qi."

Kadavar looked up from the projection—slow and deliberate.

"Don't rely on what you saw in the data analysis, I want your honest words as you saw him in action firsthand, Commander Arika."

His gaze stayed on her—steady, unblinking—sharp in a way that wasn't meant to intimidate so much as drag the truth into daylight. As if he were searching for any explanation that could still fit within the rules of physics he trusted.

Arika didn't look away.

"I wouldn't have believed the data or the footage either, Your Majesty. But I was there. I saw it. That thing's tenacity was beyond anything our hybrid weapons could meaningfully injure—we, especially if not Yuri and the team contribution, we wouldn't have been able to just barely slowed it down. And the boy… whatever power he's using, he was the only one who managed to inflict real damage."

She drew a careful breath.

"If we ignore this because it doesn't fit what we understand, then we're walking blind into something worse. I'm afraid the kingdom may be facing the most serious threat since its founding."

Kadavar exhaled through his nose, gave her a brief, acknowledging look and a single nod, then turned his attention back to the projection.

"Go on."

Arika continued.

"Regarding the boy's internal energy—the one he called Qi—it matches fragments in our archives. Qi Gong appears in pre-war Chinese records and Taoist medical texts, describing the Dan Tian as a reservoir of internal force used in healing and martial disciplines. Ancient Siamese records reference a similar idea under the term Gan Lompran— Center-Point of Lompran, and Lom Pran—vital breath, the body's inner current. The concept likely migrated through early Silk Road trade routes, herbal-medical exchanges, cultivation practices, military cooperation, and broader cultural contact with Ancient China."

She shook her head slightly.

"But none of the historical material comes anywhere close to explaining what Kaodin demonstrated last night."
