Victor Heller served as a Marine, specializing in ground-combat and guerrilla warfare. His relentless dedication saw him save many comrades and take down many enemies before his final act: sacrificing himself in battle so others could live. He died a hero.
Yet, death was not the end. Through mysterious means he was reborn in another world — the realm of hidden magic and trolls. Found as an infant on the doorstep of Barbara Lake, wrapped in a black cloth and bearing only a note: “His name is Victor. Born October 30, 1997.”
Barbara adopts him, giving him her last name — Victor Lake. He grows up in Arcadia Oaks, but unlike most children, he never truly wished for “normal” life. Deep inside, he always felt ready for something greater.
At age 12, his true nature awakened: memories of his past life in the Marines, plus the entire suite of experience, powers and skills of Slade Wilson (Deathstroke) from both Prime Earth and New Earth flooded into him. With that revelation, the boy accepted his purpose: to stand guard over a world that never asked for him but now depended on him.
