Chapter 11: The Road
Arner:
Someone is following us.... Who?
Kard:
Wait, is that... is that Eraline?
Arner:
Who?
Kard (to himself):
What brought Eraline here, and why was she following us?
Hello, Eraline. I haven't seen you in a while. How are you..... and why are you following me?
Eraline, who was the same age as him, answered in loose, baggy clothes with wavy blonde hair that highlighted her fair, attractive face.
I was trying to ask you..... who is this (pointing to Arner).
Kard:
This is my cousin Arner.
Arner (to himself):
Who is this weird girl? She seems close to Kard, but more importantly, why is she looking at me with disgust? Does she see herself as Miss Universe or what?
Eraline:
Okay, sorry, I didn't mean to follow you two. I was walking nearby and spotted you and Mr. Arner, so I came to get to know him.
Kard (to himself):
Really, was that your intention? Mmmmmm... Eraline is my friend from childhood. She's one of the strangest people among everyone I know, because she acts very impulsively despite her strong personality. How does that work?.... I don't know.
Eraline (with a strange smile closer to being fake):
I'm Eraline Kitia, Kard's friend.
Arner:
I'm Arner.. Arner Fayern, Kard's cousin.
Then Arner thought to himself as he looked at Eraline with annoyance:
She looks at me with disgust and smiles at me with a smile she didn't even try to hide was fake, mmmmmm but she's friendly toward Kard even though they're friends, but I can actually see Kard's comfort with her... Fine, I need to forget it because I'm going to chase my goal soon.. very soon.
Kard interrupts him in his thoughts:
Come on, let's continue our way, Arner. We're close already. If Eraline follows us, we'll reach the castle.
Eraline looked at Kard, then said to herself: What, is Kard planning to go to the castle with this person? I think I spoke to him a bit defensively, but that was because I suspected he was a girl before.. Kard has no friends. Walking with someone else was enough to spark my assumption. Should I apologize? But what's the point? I don't have an excuse to confess to him to justify my behavior, and this excuse—I shouldn't say it... in front of Kard.
Okay, you're heading to the castle. That's great. Can I know.... why?
Kard:
First, we'll go to the castle. If you come with us, I'll tell you when we arrive because my father gave me a specific time.
In front of the castle, its power faded among the clouds, its size and beauty dazzling minds and captivating hearts, its air and energy overflowing from it planting tranquility.
Kard:
We've arrived. We came here to introduce you to me as the son of Barubatriss, working for the city of Serman, to survey the castle.
Arner (to himself, focusing his amazed gaze and concentration on the castle's gigantic gate with the golden color dominating its black, which was enough to highlight the elegance of the place and its importance):
What is this? Is this the castle? Wow..... what a huge castle. I'm really feeling and sensing something strange.... This is truly amazing.
Kard:
Arner. Arner.
Arner (surprised):
Yes... what do you want?
Kard:
Arner, you asked me if there was something else, something besides the cities and the gathering and the castle.
Arner (to himself):
I did ask him about that after he hinted to me... But why will he answer me now in front of the castle? Shouldn't we go in?
Yes, I asked you.
Kard:
My answer: Yes, there is.... There are other institutions and communities.
