Chapter 43 - Chapter 43: No, Admiral Aokiji was dug out?!

Earlier,

In the back hills of Whiskey Peak, Ron and Nami passed through a dense cactus forest and finally arrived at the spot marked on the treasure map.

The terrain here was hidden, surrounded by various wooden crates and wine barrels, clearly a secret base. Several gold coins and jewels were scattered on the ground, looking like a temporary distribution spot for pirates.

"It seems we arrived just in time," Ron chuckled, looking around. "These pirates all ran off to 'welcome' Luffy and his crew, leaving no one to guard this place."

Nami rubbed her hands excitedly, her golden shovel glinting in the sunlight: "This is great! Finally, we can dig for treasure in peace!"

However, just then, a flurry of footsteps suddenly came from behind them.

The six pirates who had been tailing them finally couldn't hold back and charged out. The cowboy hat man leading them raised his flintlock, shouting furiously, "Stop! That's our treasure! Hand over the treasure map!"

Nami immediately flared up, her orange short hair standing on end from anger: "What a joke! This is clearly my treasure map!" She recalled her previous experiences in Loguetown and the Marine base, gritting her teeth, "Why does everyone who sees it claim it's theirs?!"

The cowboy hat man sneered and raised his weapon: "Less talk! At Whiskey Peak, all treasure belongs to our Baroque Works! Brothers, attack!"

Ron was about to make a move, but Nami had already reached her limit. Without a word, she swung her golden shovel and dug fiercely into the marked spot!

"You bastards!" Nami cursed as she dug, "Watch me dig up all your treasure!"

This action completely enraged the pirates. They roared and charged forward, swords and flintlocks all aimed at the two. The cowboy hat man pulled the trigger, and bullets whizzed out!

Just at this critical moment, the ground Nami had dug into suddenly burst forth with a dazzling golden light! A golden pillar of light shot into the sky, deflecting all the incoming bullets.

"What the hell is that?!" The pirates retreated in terror.

A clattering sound suddenly came from within the golden light, and then, a bicycle shot out of the light pillar at an astonishing speed! Its wheels were still spinning rapidly, and the bell hanging from the handlebars jingled.

"Get out of the way!" A low, flustered male voice came from within the golden light.

Before anyone could react, a tall figure awkwardly tumbled out of the golden light, his hand still clutching the back seat of the bicycle. He rolled several times on the ground before steadying himself, his Marine coat covered in mud, and a few blades of grass stuck in his fluffy curly hair.

As the golden light gradually dissipated, an eerie silence fell over the scene.

Ron's pupils suddenly constricted. He recognized the tall figure awkwardly crawling out of the pit: one of the Marine's highest fighting forces, Admiral Aokiji!

This unexpected turn of events caused even the usually composed Ron to show a rare look of shock.

The treasure digging had become abnormal; there were no bottlenecks at all!

Nami, on the other hand, was completely stunned. Her golden shovel clanged to the ground, and she mechanically turned to Ron: "Did… did I dig up something wrong?" Her voice was full of disbelief, "You can dig up living people while treasure hunting?!"

The bottom of the pit was indeed filled with sparkling gold and silver treasures, but at this moment, no one had the mind to care about them.

Nami instinctively took two steps back. This treasure digging was getting more and more outrageous. Last time she dug up a ghost, this time she directly dug up a living person, and he was wearing Marine clothes, so it was clear she seemed to have caused trouble…

The Baroque Works agents who had been following them were now scared out of their wits.

The cowboy hat man's legs went weak, and he directly knelt on the ground: "Ad… Admiral Aokiji?!" His voice trembled uncontrollably, "It's over… it's all over…"

His companions were even paler than death; some even wet their pants from fear!

Anyone who messed around in the Grand Line knew what it meant to encounter an Admiral—it was absolutely a situation of certain death!

Upon hearing this,

Nami's face instantly turned pale. Her wide eyes were filled with incredible terror, her slender fingers trembled uncontrollably, and even her lips quivered slightly.

"Ad… Admiral?!" Her voice suddenly rose by an octave, sounding particularly shrill in the quiet back hills, "What a joke! I actually dug up an Admiral with one shovel?!"

She suddenly ran to Ron, grabbing his clothes in fright: "What the hell is wrong with this treasure digging?! It was bad enough last time I dug up a ghost, but this time I directly dug up a living person! And he's the Marine's highest fighting force!"

Nami's voice was tearful, "Is there anything more ridiculous than this?!"

Ron was dizzy from her shaking but still maintained a calm expression: "Calm down, Nami…"

"Calm down?!" Nami let go of Ron, squatted on the ground with her hands on her head, "How can I be calm! That's an Admiral!" She suddenly remembered something and looked at Aokiji in horror, "It's over, it's over, we're going to be arrested and thrown into jail! That idiot Luffy is still stuffing his face in town…"

Aokiji was also bewildered at this moment.

He patted the dirt off his head and looked around: "Ara ara… Where is this?" He looked down at his mud-stained Marine coat, then at the several terrified pirates, "You guys look… familiar?"

The cowboy hat man suddenly screamed hysterically: "Run!" Several people scrambled to try and escape.

Although Aokiji hadn't figured out the situation yet, his Marine instinct to catch pirates made him subconsciously raise his right hand: "Ice Age!"

A bone-chilling cold instantly swept through, and the pirates, still in their fleeing postures, were frozen into glistening ice sculptures. Under the sunlight, the ice sculptures refracted colorful light, possessing a strangely beautiful quality.

Nami gasped, instinctively hiding behind Ron.

This was an Admiral! A legendary monster-level fighting force!

Ron, however, had already regained his composure. He stepped forward, shielding Nami behind him: "What an unexpected encounter, Admiral Aokiji." His tone carried a hint of playfulness, "I wonder why the Marine's highest fighting force would emerge from a hole we dug?"

Aokiji then noticed the two in front of him. His gaze lingered on Ron for a moment, then he saw Nami, and seemed to understand something: "So that's it… Was it you two who caused this?"
